He's really born for James Bond but the fact is not getting the role due to Barbara having a crush on Craig and forcing his casting pretty much defined his career forever. The one role he was meant for snatched from him, the Superman role was sloppy seconds. You can't get over being turned down from Bond, it just doesn't happen. You can't cope. Agreed on him being C-lister. The reason why people think he is A-lister is that if the entertainment industry hadn't been utterly insane for the past 10-15 then it is easy to imagine him genuinely being an A-lister.
