I'm a bit confused, doesn't Batman primarily fight mobsters and the mentally ill? How exactly would ending poverty fix that?

      Anonymous

That's true. In fact, in many comics it is shown how Batman is usually less aggressive with minor criminals, and even tries to help him in one way or another.
The OP image is just an example of a scriptwriter trying too hard to be smarter than he actuallyis.

I'm really not sure where the joke that batman assaults poor people comes from. Most adaptations I've seen don't seem to show him fighting random shoplifters, like it's been stuff like the mob since the golden age and the mob is something that preys on poor people. If anything batman taking on them helps vulnerable people far more than it hinders.

It's basically the new "Aquaman is useless". It doesn't really have basis in the comics or most adaptations but people will still parrot it to get cheap laughs from moronic normies.

            >It's basically the new "Aquaman is useless".
Funny because even though the DCU movies were trying to make Aquaman cool and his movie was actually decent, THIS movie runs it all the way back to the Aquaman is useless jokes.

Aside from Aquaman lying down in a puzzle and saying he belongs there they also have a bunch of scenes in the movie proper where Flash tries to tell people about Aquaman and they make fun of him saying he's a mermaid. And also his not even existing in that universe is played as a comedy scene. Whoever wrote the script really doesn't like Aquaman.

There was a comic in the early 90s I think that was just a day in the life of Bruce Wayne when the sun was up. He was genuinely tricking sleazy businessmen into buying a fixing up property just to buy it out from under them to provide affordable homes for Gotham's poor, paying off the medical bills of everyone at a hospital "in exchange" for them renaming the trauma ward for his parents, sending a new car to a guy who's car he accidentally smashed with the Batmobile the previous night, and secretly visiting Havery Dent at Arkham to play chess with him to keep his mind steady.

The problem is that everyone just wants to see (and write) Batman punching bad guys and foiling supervillain schemes, so they don't have time to do "Bruce Wayne does more that look moronic by day and tickle the Joker's balls by night" stories. Hell; the last time I remember them even showing he gave a shit about someone random was a hooker he have a desk job and new start to.

      >I want to bring you breakfast in bed

That and it's lost on people that they're basically asking for communism, which ironically also doesn't work for obvious reasons. Look, not everyone is a winner, and not everyone is entitled to get a share of the pie. The only thing you are granted in this life is the opportunity to get a slice. That's true fairness

I'll probably get some heat for this, and I agree with you, but I'd add that I'd like enough crumbs of the pie so that people can keep trying to get a slice.

When people say Bruce should just give all his money away, are they just implying that he should, like, empty his bank account and donate everything to charity shut down his company or something? Or is he saying he should retire and give everything up? What are they actually saying he should be doing?
