It's tradition, anon. The Baby Boomers didn't teach us anything and one of their greatest hobbies is chortling about how Millennials are never going to own property or start a real career. Don't worry Zoomers, you'll get your turn, soon the Gen Alphas will come of age and you can sit back and laugh about how they're too dim to write a Tweet or navigate the internet without some obnoxious AI desktop mascot telling them how to use their web browser. You could break the cycle and try to mentor the younger generation, but that doesn't seem fair to you guys. Frick them over like the prior generations did to you, it's your turn to get out of the barrel.

To be fair, that tool’s design is thoroughly moronic. But really the fault lies in whoever’s recording instead of just showing him how it’s done. Zoomers might be stupid, but the two generations up are worse for their blatant heartless behavior.

I remember selling my videos after buying an Xbox that I could use as a DVD player instead. I kept them for a while but times moved on quickly, even back then. I'd guess a lot of zoomers know what they are still but they likely never used one. Same as how Blockbuster had been dead for a few years after my youngest brother was born.

They don’t care and if they do they can just look it up. Not sure what the obsession with needing to “explain” things to younger generations like you can force them to care about something they show 0 interest in

      >They don’t care and if they do they can just look it up
This is the fundamental shift that has come with full time access tot he internet. No one bothers or is interested in learning anything because "I can just look it up", but no one ever looks it up. Expect the things the average person knows to continue to diminish with increased ease of access top information until no one knows anything. AI will just make it worse since people will only need a toddler's vocabulary to ask it to do all their thinking for them.

        Anonymous

Anon, you couldn't force people to have an interest in things before either. Do you really think kids ran off to the library every time they heard of a new concept in the 50s?

          Anonymous

No, but life in general required the average person to hold more knowledge in their heads ahead of time. People, in general, were more curious about things, if only because they might need that knowledge in a pinch later.
