How long do you think it will be before you have to explain a youngster what a Walkman, VHS or Betamax was?

I'm not allowed to talk to minors.
they don't even know what an mp3 player is
You already have to explain Walkman and Betamax. VHS aren't terribly old yet, many people probably have collections still
Today. They don't make new players anymore.
If it's not a glued together piece of shit from China or downloaded from an appstore then they wont know
> I didn't know Feinstien died
>Article about zoomers beting morons features a moronic zoomer scam as the most read article
Now
most young people dont even know what physical media is. They cant play anything that's not streaming from an app or website.
I saw a zoomer pick up a shakeweight in a Goodwill today and say 'what the hell is this?' to his friend today. Time goes on, old anon.
to be fair no one knows what they are
wtf is a shakeweight?
t. 43 year old
Already nobody knows what the "save" icon is supposed to represent.
Not for awhile.. probably whenever the oldest of generation z is married with children
Remember magnetic tape?
*crack* *sip*
Now THAT was a storage technology.
it's still used today you spastic. it's like 200tb a reel.
Jesus Christ what type of poorgay hasn't moved on to SSD?
show me a 200tb ssd
>what is long term data storage?
The latest version of LTO is 18Tb.
>Since December 2020 IBM and Fujifilm manufacture a magnetic tape with 580 TB
>Nothing but a bunch of news pieces from 2020
Nobody is using this.
>gets proven wrong
>n-no one is using it!!!1!
bloopity
They'll never ask because kids are completely incurious now.
>complains that zoomers don't know anything
>records it and makes fun of him instead of teaching him
The worst thing about this vid is that, despite what should be embarrassment, he still has this smug, entitled look on his face like it's still someone else's cringe.
I wonder if you american boomers would be just as lost with this superior tool
Why do parents make fun of their own kids for not knowing anything? The kids are a reflection of what you taught them. That's like me not feeding my kid and making fun of him for underweight.
>We have purposely trained him wrong, as a joke.
Like you morons would listen to a boomer.
>listen to a boomer
Yes, when the peel themselves away from the TV for second I would love to listen to their outdated advice.
Because most people to through a know it all phase in their youth so humbling them is itself a valuable learning experience.
It's tradition, anon. The Baby Boomers didn't teach us anything and one of their greatest hobbies is chortling about how Millennials are never going to own property or start a real career. Don't worry Zoomers, you'll get your turn, soon the Gen Alphas will come of age and you can sit back and laugh about how they're too dim to write a Tweet or navigate the internet without some obnoxious AI desktop mascot telling them how to use their web browser. You could break the cycle and try to mentor the younger generation, but that doesn't seem fair to you guys. Frick them over like the prior generations did to you, it's your turn to get out of the barrel.
To be fair, that tool’s design is thoroughly moronic. But really the fault lies in whoever’s recording instead of just showing him how it’s done. Zoomers might be stupid, but the two generations up are worse for their blatant heartless behavior.
I'm a millennial and have never seen a betamax IRL, why the frick should anybody under 40 know what that shit is
>he doesn't betamaxx
A few years ago I took a thick phone book to my martial arts class (for "1 inch punching"). This zoomer kid looks at it and freaks out, "my grandma used to have one of these on her fridge!!" He picks it up and is furiously thumbing through it in awe. I told him, "wait until you learn about The White Pages", and his eyes got super big and he gasped "w-w-whats the white pages??!??"
nice larp anon
And then you took him home and fricked his bussy and everybody clapped, and that kid's name? Albert Einstein
Several years ago
I remember selling my videos after buying an Xbox that I could use as a DVD player instead. I kept them for a while but times moved on quickly, even back then. I'd guess a lot of zoomers know what they are still but they likely never used one. Same as how Blockbuster had been dead for a few years after my youngest brother was born.
They don’t care and if they do they can just look it up. Not sure what the obsession with needing to “explain” things to younger generations like you can force them to care about something they show 0 interest in
>They don’t care and if they do they can just look it up
This is the fundamental shift that has come with full time access tot he internet. No one bothers or is interested in learning anything because "I can just look it up", but no one ever looks it up. Expect the things the average person knows to continue to diminish with increased ease of access top information until no one knows anything. AI will just make it worse since people will only need a toddler's vocabulary to ask it to do all their thinking for them.
Anon, you couldn't force people to have an interest in things before either. Do you really think kids ran off to the library every time they heard of a new concept in the 50s?
No, but life in general required the average person to hold more knowledge in their heads ahead of time. People, in general, were more curious about things, if only because they might need that knowledge in a pinch later.
No most people in history have been just trying to get through their day actually.
Which required more memorised knowledge than it does today.
haha yeah them zoomers do be deadass fr fr no cap i'm bussin
vhs are trendy to collect now
laserdisc is more trendy, VHS prices have gone down (not that it was booming at it's peak) while laserdisc prices have gone way up for any movie anyone would actually want to watch
>boomer workplace started hiring zoomers
>dreading it
>they're just normal people
you homosexuals lie about everything
I wish archive.org wasn't shit and had every vhs movie ever. Even that homosexual website's book section requires an account to "borrow" books. The sooner it's nuked the better.
I don’t talk to kids, weirdo.
na you just frick em big man
No, I whip them. The diamonds won’t dig themselves out.
At a small supermarket I asked the zoomer cashier if they had any aspirin and she had no idea what I was talking about, is this common now ?
Aspirin is only recommended to people with heart issues now, you don't really buy it unless you need it for something like that.
>makes the new world order piss and shit it's wound in fear
>having access to information is.... LE BAD!
Pretty much yes, when it's all bad information
I was born in 1996 and I have no idea what a betamax is and a very foggy idea of what a walkman was (early mp3 player?)
I already get shit for buying dvds from my 26 year old friend.
