Jonn Snow obviously isn't going to die, he's one of the three main characters along with Daenerys and Tyrion.

        The prolog to Book #5 with Varamyr Sixskins slowly dying and looking to find a human body to transfer his soul/spirt into and ending up having to setting for his wolf, was included to explain the process of warging and show how Jon Snow will come back after his assassination by his brothers of the Nights Watch;

        WunWun spazzing out
        Jon Snow stabbed to death
His body put in an ice cell while the Nights Watch tries to calm things down
Meanwhile, his soul/spirt will have warged into Ghost
Once things are settled, a funeral pyre will be prepared for his body
Just before lighting the flames, Melisandre will give Jon the R’hllorian death ritual final kiss
Jon's soul/spirt will be pulled back into his body and he'll miraculously come back to life

I still think the only way his story would have a real twist is if it's a non-main character like Stannis who ends up on the Iron Throne through sheer stubbornness and sacrifice. He's one of the only characters to have a real arc of growth as a person too.

I'd say Daenerys will die in the end and probably by Jon Snow's hand and she'll inadvertently nuke Kingslanding due to all the wildfire stashed everywhere, after going to war against nephew fAegon for control of the Iron Throne.

fAegon plot has been hinted at in the books since Bran’s first green dream and Danny’s visions in the House of the Undying. Dan and Deebie are just lazy israelites who consolidated the shit out of plot lines because they’re lazy and wanted more screen time for meme dwarf and Grey Worm to stare at Missandei (who are extremely minor characters in the book)

fAegon is absolutely integral to the plot with Daenerys. Excluding him (and replacing him with Cersei, I suspect) completely butchered the Dany storyline. He was never going to be king, or at least for long, but he will be a catalyst for some massive shit that is about to go down.

Wish he just came out and said he gave up on finishing everything and instead just making excuses and dragging the fans along. It’s clear he doesn’t know how to finish the story. AFFC and ADWD were bloated with all sorts of stuff and he doesn’t know how to tie everything up. World of ASOIAF became too big for him and he caught up in too much worldbuilding. There’s a reason why he wrote to history books filled with details that won’t end up mattering instead. Shit, ADWD literally has a whole page dedicated to Tyrion describing turtles, fricking turtles. George has long described himself as a writer that doesn’t plan anything out

Supposedly but regardless of his wishes, his wife automatically inherits his estate and can do as she pleases and odds are GRRM received all kinda advance payments from his publisher, who will have a contractual right to finish the story with a ghost writer.

          Anonymous

I doubt he's had any substantia advances, considering how much he's made. He reached the levlel where he didn't need advances to live on while writing, especially after the HBO deal. He probably swapped advances for a bigger percentage of sales. And, rights to ghostwrite something after an author dies is unheard of in the publishing industry.
And, his wife gets everything, if he leaves it all to her. He could put the IP in a trust, that she's the benificary of, or donate his files and such to a university. Nobody will know until, his heart explodes while patting some nerd chicks ass at a convention while keking.

Easily. Everything and everyone I hate I used to love. Things and people that I never loved, I don't truly hate. At worst, I just have a distaste for them. You need a pretty decent level of investment to develop genuine hate. It's either something you used to love, or something that threatens the things and people you love currently.

When he announced he was going to release his 7th book in 2020
there was this article that had him say they could lock him away until he had finished.. winds of winter? i think it is
And i decided to start reading so i could catch up before it was released
I read A game of Thrones entirely in 2019 and then lost it at A clash of Kings
so i still haven't progressed past 200 pages of it even though i kind of like it, but i won't want to force myself reading it without feeling like continuing
And i keep on being hopeful i actually will get through all 6 before he releases it
Am i going to make i, even taking all my sweet-ass time, or nah?

Wrong. He SAYS he began writing it, but that's a lie. Literally all he has shown for it (the "previews") were just cut content from Dance and even those previews are no longer canon. You need to accept that the fat frick hasn't written a single word for Winds and never will.

I gave up on him too by now. And I held out for a while.
Though, people were already screaming at him to finish the books before he “dies” like, 2 years after Dance came out. Some of the fans are just fricking moronic buttholes that probably broke his spirit.

I know he's a famous billionaire by this point and has no reason to even get out of bed since he's literally won at life, but don't you think there's some small part of him that's ashamed for not finishing his art? Even if you don't give a shit about the fans, don't you owe it to the characters? To yourself?

I haven't read the books, and I only watched like 3 or 4 seasons of the show, but my theory is that he CAN'T finish the story because of Jon and Dany.

He set out to write a Machiavellian, "realist" plot in a fantasy setting, but against his wishes, the machinery of the story inevitably produced two genuinely idealistic and heroic characters — Jon and Dany (I know they are flawed, but still in many ways they are classical heroes).

This has put Martin in an inescapable bind: he can't give these heroic characters a properly satisfying heroic ending, because that would go against his nihilistic philosophy, his "realism" which he imagines is the heart and soul of the books. So he's stuck between ending the story poorly while staying true to his philosophy, or giving the story a true epic-heroic conclusion and betraying his worldview.

He simply doesn't know what to do. If Jon and Dany didn't come out of the story, and Tyrion remained the most central character, he would have finished the books ages ago. I think he's genuinely upset and confused that he accidentally wrote two heroes despite himself.

Martin set out to subvert fantasy, but in the end fantasy (with its inherently heroic-mythic character) subverted Martin. Tolkien bros, we absolutely won.

daenerys is literally the villain of the story idiot. The smartest 5% of the fanbase knew this years before the last season

That only makes her a fallen hero or anti-hero. The fact is she has the moral vision and great ambition of a classical hero, even if she fails in her quest. She's not a vulgar minded cynic like Tyrion (clearly Martin's favourite character).

Again, even if you're right about that, the fact that she's willing to make such a bold stand is evidence of a heroic character, even if she's corrupt on a deeper level.

she only wanted to do it out of profound egotism and self-aggrandizing hubris, without literally any consideration for the horrible consequences

She saw slaves suffering and decided she wanted to help them. Her flaw was that she didn't properly consider the legal and economic implications of instantly uprooting systems that have supported civilizations for thousands of years with no practical ideas about how to replace them.

That makes her naive, not evil or egotistical.

are you illiterates unaware of the thing called "God complex"?

                Anonymous

She's a POV character. We literally read her mind when we read the book and we can see for a fact that she is deeply bothered by the suffering of innocents, especially slaves, and wants to free them and create a world where everyone can be safe and happy.

You're the only one with a complex here. A complex that drives you to take straight forward information we've all known for decades, look at it and say "AKCHEWALLY, Danny is EVIL and INSANE and I'M the only one who's smart enough to see it, unlike you IDIOTS. God I'm so much smarter than everyone else around me"

I'm convinced it's not that he just can't or isn't trying to write, it's that he can't figure out exactly how he wants to make all the moving pieces of the story fit together. He tries rewriting a small part in an early chapter, but that requires him to then go through the entire rest of the book to make sure the change fits, which then requires more changes in turn, which require even more changes in turn, and by the end he's already had another idea and needs to go back and change something else early in the story too and the process repeats.

The book is technically finished, but trapped in an endless revision and re-writing hell. It could be released right now if he really wanted but he just can't get it to feel right.

I don't get why people seethe so much, ever since they stopped following the books the story improved and shit actually started happening.
The best episodes is when they defend from Blue Zombies and then escape via boat, and that has nothing to do with the main story either.

Story of the books was boring as frick before d&d had stuff happen.

Like most boomers, he can't handle that people on the internet speculate on his works. He thinks his ideas are Super Special since he made so much money from them so when someone on reddit guesses his plot he throws a temper tantrum and refuses to finish what he started.
