He's got Itty bitty twig legs and a massive case of bloat. You strike at him above the belt, it will just bounce off. But you attack his ankles or knees, like those supersoldiers in Uber, he's out.

I think he was power class in sonic riders and literally broke walls and shit with his bare hands, so I think he is actually relative to knuckles in strength.

He can literally run faster than Sonic, he's clearly the most powerful being in the series.
On multiple occasions he's shown to be a capable fighter. Archie Robotnik also had monstrous strength. Capable of crushing a swatbot into a cube with his bare hands but one of his arms is robotic.

man is a technological genius easily knows enough to know anything he could make now would be obsolete tomorrow and an enormous hassle every step of the way.

Getting serious for a moment here, Eggman probably is at a Tony Stark level of strength: Not trained for combat, only partially fit, but generally strong
Tony Stark has Steve Rogers as his petsonal trainer and is a professional boxer.
He can outrun Sonic and punch his way past cars.
If he ever decided to stop playing around with his robots he could just kill the hedgehog with his bare hands.
A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES
I wouldn't, I'd listen to what he has to say, because that's what no one did.
Strong enough to tussle with, usually but lose to, Sonic (& others). It's not his greatest asset, but he's no slouch.
Despite his deformed proportions, I think he's basically just average adult male physically. He just seems superior when he's against little animal people. Sonic can offset that due to his superspeed, but there's still limitations with that.
He could twist Sonics neck with ease, remember how he bashed that platypus to death?
He wouldn't need so many robots and war machines if he could win a fistfight with Sonic.
Eggman is trying to take over the world, so he would need those robots to do anything on a practical level.
Sonic, who can normally bulldose straight through steel robots designed for military combat, has to land several direct hits to Eggman's fully exposed head before he can't handle it anymore. Eggman hates Sonic because he's one of the few forces on the planet capable of threatening him at all.
