How the frick did the public like this pozzled shit? Obviously it won the Oscars but I wanted to punch everyone involved. 95% on RT what the frick is wrong

>pozzled
>the Oscars
Frick off leave Ivan
It was a plant just as Lil Nas X is a plant in the music industry. Only reddlt npcs actually liked it, normal people didn't and the movie has been memoryholed except as an object of ridicule
No one was allowed to criticize it.
Bill Simmons ridiculed it and basically called it laughable garbage on the Ringerverse podcast.
That podcast episode was taken down and re-uploaded with his comments removed.
Additionally, Bill had to make an apology on his own podcast stating that he was sorry he did not respect such an important moment for the Asian American community.
Seriously? Is this how bad things have gotten? You can't even publicly say you don't like something without retracting the statement and issuing an apology?
You can't dislike it because it's praised so heavily from an idpol lens. It has le queer characters and le asians. It has le random Rick and Morty tier humor. I fricking hated this movie the longer it went along. First 30 minutes were ok but it gets too big for its britches and tries to pontificate to the audience by the end. It insists upon itself. Frick that.
Lol why would I make something like this up?
I just checked Spotify and that Ringerverse episode isn’t even up anymore
Movies are not movies anymore, they're a means to an end of social progress. The movie is a VERY IMPORTANT MOMENT for asian-americans, and Queer Americans and is a very important movie. ergo, if you criticize it you criticize minorities, which is RACISM. And we know RACISM is the most evil scourge we must get rid of.
Also there's something fudnamentally wrong with asian-americans as they make the most neurotic parental issues horseshit EVER. Actual asian cinema is fantastic. Michelle Yeoh has been in so many kino herself and she's gonna be remembered most for this giant piece of shit.
Not even an Asian movie. It's an American movie effectively profiting off Asians. I don't get these people.
Watch an actual movie from Asia if you care so much. There's thousands of them.
This has as much value as Jackie Chan in The Tuxedo.
That podcast and everyone on it are ultra-woke turbo-homosexuals so unsurprising.
How often has the Oscars given the award to the most deserving film of the year? How often is the winning film even remembered? Being nominated and not winning it tends to be a better mark of quality.
That's what I say that of course it won the Oscars but that's usually synonym with being crap that most people dislike, yet I never heard anyone saying bad things about this one.
It was ok, it was a fun little film, it probably made more money than the flash or Indiana Jones.
Best movie to come out in a long time, eat shit homosexual it deserved every award it won.
Not even the top 5 of its year.
What were the top 5 of its year?
Banshees of Inisherin, Tar, All Quiet on the Western Front, Aftersun, The Northman.
Top Gun Maverick is better too.
This is what comes out when unfunny people write a comedy
It's also a symptom of unorganized media consumption without the talent to make sense of it. The movie's like a child getting dozens of ingredients in the kitchen and mixing them up with only a surface understanding of what he was doing
moist cr1tikals comments section said this was one of the best movies of the last decade
I don't know what you're getting at chuddie
It’s an annoying cringe extravaganza unlike any film I’ve seen
>Is that a le heckin leberooni? POZZED! POZZED! POZZED! POZZED! POZZED!
You are so tiresome
>t. victim of child molestation who now is a coprophiliac and has anal worms.
putin lost
every chinese film that looks like that is dog shit
GETSUGAAAA
TENSHOUUUU
>pozzled
snowflake
>How the frick did the public like this pozzled shit?
People were supporting Short Round, he was the dude in the second Raiders film and Goonies. Did not deserve to be dropped like a latter day Bobby Driscol by Hollywood.
>child star doesn't go on to have a huge career
That's like all of them. Even Macauley Culkin didn't go anywhere, and he was the big one.
Maybe the most Reddit film ever made.
But absolutely the most troonyboxd film that's ever been made.
>what the frick is wrong
you
Why is nihilism a trend right now with normies?
Rick and Morty
Wasn't the movie trying to make a statement against nihilism?
>Why is nihilism a trend right now with normies?
Because they left religion and have nothing to replace it with.
It's literally positive nihilism. It's trying to grapple with nothing mattering, then trying to have a positive uplifting life. I personally consider any ideology that has nihilism as the starting point as fundamentally flawed and doomed but whatever.
When I tried to watch it last year I turned it off after about an hour
I just watched this and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "this is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.
I fricking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of the chair for the last 30 minutes it was so painful.
>Ayy quirky A24 movie lmao
If you liked it you're in the wrong place
RT's user score reviews are fake. Unless the Critic score is low they pretty much don't allow negative user reviews in new movies, especially those that are extremely pozzed. The Little Mermaid movie and the Star Wars movies are universally hated by fans but all of them them have 80-90 user scores. It's all bullshit.
Bankai

>talks about being "organic"
>mass replies
it has 68 % on the most popular czech site and it's mostly hated lmao

not even in the red territory, sometimes I love my country
Your entire country hasn't made a decent film since 98, sounds like a bunch of sour grapes
so same as hollywood lmao
>bigger industry
>more money
>more people
>made like 10 watchable movies in last 25 years
>most popular czech site
what is that like 20 users
the average person doesn't view the world the same as somone who says things like 'pozzled' without a hint of irony
Cope
It captures the feeling of losing your religion and feeling out of touch with your family’s culture well. Despite how over the top it is, it’s relatable.
This was the most insufferable scene in this insufferable movie. It OOZES redditness.
I don't get the hate for it. It's a decent movie, especially when you consider the shitty reboots, sequels, prequels etc. that got released that year (excluding Top Gun, that movie was decent).
The Banshees of Inisherin was good.and released that year. I think Everything, Everywhere All at Once is fine though.
>I don't get the hate for it. It's a decent movie,
It feels like it's designed for people with ADHD, with the worst kind of humor possible.
>It captures the feeling of losing your religion and feeling out of touch with your family’s culture well. Despite how over the top it is, it’s relatable.
You can make a mature film that talks about that instead of some ADHD wacky Rick and Morty shitfest.
>You can make a mature film that talks about that instead of some ADHD wacky Rick and Morty shitfest.
Not if your audience is mentally adolescent. Puerile movie made by stupid people for stupid people.
>Not if your audience is mentally adolescent. Puerile movie made by stupid people for stupid people.
... who think they're smart. That's the bad part. Same with Rick and Morty. I've found anyone bringing up that show is a nitwit to just be ignored.
Don't raise attention to it dude.
It needs to fade into obscurity like life is beautiful.
>It needs to fade into obscurity like life is beautiful.
That movie could have worked fine as a joke about living in fascist Italy but the movie just gets creepy/weird and stupid once they move to a god damn concentration camp. It's like... fun adventures and fun times in Auzwitz or some shit? Does not work god damn. total oscar bait horse shit.
I'm interested in watching it mainly for Michelle Yeoh but I expect most of the movie to be shit. Even the title sounds like terrible millenial twitter hire writing
It's millennial twitter hire writing - it's all about asian americans dealing with their "cultural" traditions, a lesbian child, and nihilism. Yeoh's been in many great films but they're all Hong Kong. She sold out much in the same way Jackie Chan sold out to China. You pick China or Hollywood to sell your soul to. You can't make good films anymore after the end of Hong Kong cinema.
btw, the Chinese takeover of Hong Kong and the guting of their cinema is one of hte biggest cultural crimes of the last 150 years. They had 40 years of making top notch entertaining films. Ranging from simple action films to actual top tier best films of all times.
>the Chinese takeover of Hong Kong and the guting of their cinema is one of hte biggest cultural crimes of the last 150 years.
This, korean cinema tries really hard to be the next Hong Kong but it will never be the same
Aside from the fricking dyke daughter it was a perfectly fine movie about familial love despite all odds. It's fun too. It's a good movie and people were willing to overlook the gay shit. Not to mention gay propaganda is everywhere so why would people be mad NOW about this movie for relatively tame homosexualery ?
>rotten tomatoes matters
It was so bad i couldnt even finish the movie. No idea why anyone pretends to enjoy this zoom zoom garbage.
>Kung Fu shit with a post-wall actress
Didn't see it. Never will.
Got it from redbox. Rental was 3 bucks, to own it was 6. I figure hey, a few bucks more I can own an alleged kino.
Im still seething about my extra 3 bucks. I never want to watch this pozzed dreck ever again.
idk
had to turn it off after 30 minutes of cringe and boredom
