The fact that this is the only defense people have of later TD seasons is proof they are garbage. Only liked by contrarians latching onto something widely despised. Can't even explain why it's good, just say everybody else got "filtered" (presumably by the atrocious acting and shallow writing).

It was just overly ambitious and I respect it. It's not exactly what I wanted from a S2 but it was high effort and I recognize that and it is an entertaining show.

started off great, all kinds of conspiracies aluded to, primo T&A and good setting. Then by the end it just kind of wraps up like any cop drama, they get the bad guy and thats that.

My schizo theory is that tptb forced it to be rewritten, because it was revealing too much, and that the second season was meant to follow on from or at least be connected to the first e.g. the animal mask guy/house in s2 was meant to be connected to the masked pedos in s1, the orgy scene was meant to be underage/connected to the same cult etc.

      Anonymous

It was a Lovecraftian pedo cult. They acknowledged they couldn't get them all in the last episode. They got the guy related to the murdered girl in the first episode.

I think Rusty Cohle is reltable to many anons here. He is introverted, pessimistic and he has no charisma. He is the opposite of Marty who in spite of being less talented, less intelligent, less attractive, and less in shape, his career is more successful than Rust's, he as has much more status, is better with people and especially women.
