What? Kendall has shown to be competent and has devoted his entire life to the company.

I mean seriously, Ken even says he is going to carve "fiefdoms" to Rome and Shiv. What reason is there not to vote yes?
Woman
She did it for the lulz.
women
she is a female, therefore incapable of rational thought
She saw being the wife of the CEO (of the American owned company) as her chance to get what she wanted.
i don't think she even thought that far, hell it was even what made her join kendall at the start
it was litereally this
that
and this
Obviously this, based on the soap opera content of the show she is probably planning to poison him later and take over.
It was always gonna be Tom.
It was inevitable.
She wants her child to be the CEO's son
she couldnt let ken win
Women
Ken is a moron but she basically did it out of spite.
All the siblings are morons.
she just didn't want him to win because that means she would've lost
>if i can't have it you can't either
She had 2 options at that point. Vote against the deal and get whatever scraps Ken decides to give her, or vote for the deal, get a massive payout and get Tom in as CEO.
She already indicated earlier that she wants a family life with Tom.
It's not rocket appliances guys.
Except Tom is over her shit and he only grovels for people above him. Now that he’s number 1 he’s going to treat everyone like Greg
>Now that he’s number 1 he’s going to treat everyone like Greg
A trusted confidant, best friend and love interest?
It’s more like Stalin plucking the feathers off a live bird so it snuggles his hand for warmth
A whipping boy, coffee acquirer, and closet assistant?
Tom represents how 90% of CEOs climb the corporate ladder. The other 10% either inherit the position (like the Roy kids would have done if they were minimally competent) or are entrepreneurs who create their own companies. Sycophancy is the most common means by which commoners gain institutional power.
If we go by meritocracy which character would be the successor?
Excluding the kids and tom
I think Gerri
Gerri 100%
She was always the most calm and collected of them, and gave really solid advice.
except he busted his ass and turned ATN into a money printing machine to the point forbes was giving him front pages and interviews.
he might have been a toady but he was competent too
Exactly. The show's presentation of Tom is colored by the myopia of the main characters, who all believe that the company should be theirs by birthright -- distracting them from the fact that it's a business and what matters most is maximizing the value of the business. Tom is presented as a sycophant buffoon because that's how they view him when in reality he has the competence and actionable drive that all of the siblings lack. They lost the kingdom that they thought was theirs by right because they were distracted from the administration of that kingdom by their squabbling over that right.
Keep in mind that Tom was selected for the "US CEO" figurehead job, not to be an actual CEO. To be an actual CEO who calls the shots, you need to have a creative vision and purpose, not just be a master of executing and implementing the visions of others.
>>he has the competence and actionable drive that all of the siblings lack
>human furniture
>you can't make Tomelette without breaking few Gregs
It goes without saying that you need to be competent too. Tom's competence is completely defined and dictated from above. He has no passions or ideologies himself. He simply executes what his superiors demand from him. So "competent" or "successful" sycophancy may be the more complete term. It's why there are so many Indian CEOs these days. They are bred for it.
>in the end, the tall guys won
it's not fair, manlets, when do we finally get a dub?
Logan was manlet supreme for 4 seasons
i hate her and tom so much its unreal
>Kendall has shown to be competent
Hahaha
>and has devoted his entire life to the company.
This is literally part of the problem.
>committed fraud with Living+, Karl threatened to rat him out to the feds
>elected a heckin fascisterino that betrayed him the next fricking day
>clearly abused his mentally unstable brother right before the meeting
>was CLEARLY going to betray her and take ATN from her the moment it becomes convenient
It makes perfect sense
I don't think our number one boy would've pulled it off 2bh, he's only a boy after all.
Everything would go haywire a few months in.
I just wish the execution of the ending was more cathartic.
Shiv and Roman had pretty good endings imo, but Kendall's didn't satisfy me completely.
KENDALL AND KENDALLgayS ON ***LITERAL*** SUICIDE WATCH
you clearly weren't paying attention if you seriously think kendall would be a good CEO. He pretty much was for a while there and he did nothing but make horrible decisions that would definitely have lead to the company going belly up.
he literally started the chain of events that led to the company just slowly dying over the course of the show what have these people been watching
>What? Kendall has shown to be competent and has devoted his entire life to the company.
No, he hasn't. He was CEO when Logan was sick in season 1 and it was a clusterfrick. People forget his colossal bungling of the refinancing negotiation with the bank.
What bungling? It’s been a while but from what I remember he got Stewy to bail them out and it would have been a disaster otherwise.
and sandy almost bought the company outright, which is why they had to try buying pierce. eventually they settled with a partial acquisition because sandy had a fricking stroke and ms. sandy and stewie just wanted money and didnt have personal beef against Logan.
He failed to negotiate with the bank. His solution reduced the family share in the company and got Stewy in, which made it easier for Sandy to nearly take over Waystar down the line. Logan had renegotiated before and would have been successful it had been him.
Yeah, didnt he try to strong arm them and they immediately told him to frick off? Or was there that oh so prevalent awkward pause before he realized he fricked up and went "its just a joke bro"
It’s not over you shiv worshipping israelites. Next season Ken is suing Shiv and Roman for full ownership of The 100, then running Goisraelite Waycuck into the ground by making actually good interesting news content instead of globohomosexual bullshit boomer news. Ken is coming back stronger than ever
BASED
next stop: president of the world federation
>Next season
We are so back.
Woman moment.
>Kendall has shown to be competent and has devoted his entire life to the company.
Kendall is unstable. Two or three moments of lucidity don't change the fact he's a lunatic. None of them were capable of running the company and with the constant infighting it's practically impossible for the leadership to function. They would've run the company into the ground. They did great selling the company for the price they got.
you're murdering it karl
It makes perfect sense. If Kendall becomes CEO then the struggle continues, Shiv knows that the "fiefdom" idea is not going to work because she and Ken are both too ambitious and self-centered to allow it to. Roman is clearly out of the game, he wants to be free of the constant back-stabbing and venom-slinging that they've been embroiled in -- but Shiv will still butt heads with Ken at every turn and their conflict won't be resolved by a token gesture of marginal ceded territory. If she backs Ken, she's signing up for more warfare, more strife. If she doesn't back Ken, she still doesn't get what she wants but her position is at least cemented and she is free to maneuver from there. She's also right that Ken isn't cut out for the job -- and he proved that with his reaction to the situation. He's a force of chaos despite his occasional charisma and episodes of competence, but he doesn't have the killer instinct that would be necessary to balance that out. Knowing that the choice for CEO is Tom makes her decision a much easier one given that Tom being CEO serves her interests. Ken being CEO effectively maintains the status quo, it isn't a path toward resolution. Shiv's motivation isn't that she actually wants to run the company, its that she wants a chance at what she feels like she deserves and has always been deprived of. She just wants to beat Ken. And she did.
Cox hasn't watched the final episode.
Was he the butthole all along? That's his coworkers work he doesn't care for once he isn't in it.
he's in it though
>implying his mushy boomer brain could even keep up with the pace of the show
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/entertainment-arts-65803015
he didnt watch it because she show went to shit and didn't like the ending
Yfw Brian was a Kendall bro all along

Kencucks STILL seething?
Dude they're both cucks
Shiv is probably getting fricked by Matsson on a near daily basis and finally experiencing the threesome she always wanted to have with him and eb-ba
>Kendall has shown to be competent
he literally almost crashed the company against an iceberg he put in place himself the one time he actually was in charge which basically caused the proxy battle that spans over most of the shows runtime wtf are you talking about
>Kendall
>Competent
lmao
Fricking clouds?
Flying in on a cross?
What the frick was that?
you must be roastie shiv fan
gojo acquisition and livingplus were ideas of his, not to mention he has 10/10 speech skills and it's the most suitable one for the throne from the siblings
>if you dont think kendall is competent then you must be a shiv fan
theyre all moronic
Her saying that and bring up the dead kid were just smokescreens. The reality is that she could see Ken reveling in it and didn't like that. She resented it. She can't stand him. He made all of it about him with only token offerings for the siblings. The first things he says during the side meeting are that he needs to do this and he's good for this.
If Ken focused instead on placating her resentment here and focused on offerings and fiefdoms or whatever he could have swayed her but he melted down and sperged out.
keep in mind we also see get to see how ken's reverence for his dad is entirely performative when in the within one scene he goes from questioning if it's even ok to sit in his dad's chair to having his feet on the desk and offering out power to stewie like it's candy
she was always going to protect Tom. she's a daddy's girl and Tom plays that role for her, someone that will do things for her, and now is even capable of setting limits when she pushes him too hard.
it happened before. On the most tense episode thus far, called "This is not for tears", Logan said to Shiv: "this is the sort of sacrifice people in very senior positions need to make", then gave her a choice between Kendall or Tom to pay for cruises, and with teary eyes she said "I can't choose. Just not Tom. Please, for me". She couldn't sacrifice Tom, and therefore sacrificed her own standing as future successor.
