Why did this show need two stoic, self punishing hardass boys. Felt like him and Heero were competing to fill the same niche.
[...]
Heero is the sad stoic one while Trowa is the mysterious stoic who is slightly less autistic.
Trowa was my favorite Gundam pilot in Wing but at the same time I feel like I don't have much of a choice. Many of you edgelords like Duo for some reason but he's the cringiest of all of them
I mean, there's not much more to Duo beyond that, really. Among the G boys he's probably the least developed overall, beyond his chapter in Episode Zero.
Yeah but despite being the least developed Duo still manages to stand out by at least being... an actual fricking human being. He's the funny guy of the group and when the other three are this dry that goes a long fricking way.

It is hard being a funny guy when you murdered 10000+ people

You don't have to be the funny guy but ANY personality trait beyond stone cold stoicism would be a little appreciated. I feel like for a good chunk of the show characters like Heero or Setsuna don't even speak a lot of the time. But even Setsuna was a different kind of quiet than Tiera was and with Lockon filling the fun guy role and Al being a fricking psychopath there was a bit more distinction in types of character.
Duo and Quatre only did it because they were in a no-win scenario and felt taking out as many as possible would have been the best course of action. Also Wufei stabbed his gundam's backpack to try and escape which -should- have killed him. Stop spreading misinformation like a moron.
>Friendly guy who likes to party that calls himself the god of death when committing terrorism treating it like a game >cringiest of them all
morons like you like to think the ideal form of "Normal" is Beavis and Butthead.
Trowa was barely allowed to have any character flaws like Heero because he was meant to be French by design. It isn't a well kept secret the Japanese love to wank the French for being insufferable civilized narcissists who they respect for some stupid reason.
Wing is a very politically edgy show, much like G Gundam that came before it. The American Duo is all talk and constantly loses, the Chinese Wufei an absurd honor obsessed moron, the Japanese Heero is perfect and edgy in every way.
Quatre seems like he's the only normal one out of the five. And he does bullshit like become a Newtype at infrequent junctures throughout the series.
>G gundam >politically edgy
homie what? they were just hollywood stereotypes, even the chinese and hong kong guys were ripped off from gangster and kung fu movies
probably because they kind of see them as the japan of the west. High cultural power and prestige
, snobs to non-thems, good food, knight=samurai and shit.
That explains the need for one. Usually these kinds of fujo friendly groups don't have such heavily overlapping archetypes though, unless they are directly rivals.
Because the Wing boys spent most of their time split up into smaller groups. By having two stoics it's easier on the writers to ensure there is always a stoic in each group. Now there are times when both Heero and Trowa are together, and in those instances Heero doubles down on his stoic attitude to compensate.
I think Heero is ok. He learnt how appreciate people by the time passes. Now compare the Endless Waltz version to the beginning of Wing tv series where he was a giga butthole that only murder and reject any forms of companionship.
Wait, so was kathy or whatever the frick her name was actually his sister?
If you're just watching the show alone, Catherine Bloom basically "adopts" Trowa as her little brother after his memory loss, that's the entirity of it.
In the Episode Zero prequel manga, which was penned by Gundam W's own writer, it's revealed that Trowa is Catherine's actual blood brother Triton Bloom, who was seperated from her when their family was attacked while he was a baby, their parents died and Triton was presumed dead but actually survived. Neither of them are aware they're actually blood related and they never discover it. Also no, they're not fricking.
>it's revealed that Trowa is Catherine's actual blood brother Triton Bloom >be him >be the actual best pilot in wing >cutie circus girl always protecting him >gets the most kills >carries the rest of those jobbers on his back even when he has memory loss >writers retroactively frick him by making the only female he could conceivably haveinterest in his blood sister >everyone else except jobber wufei and homosexual quatre gets gfs
how could they do my boy this dirty?
It wasn't retroactive. She was always his sister. Quatre and Trowa not having GFs or kids was to give the fujos fuel. Can't have all 5 boys in relationships. That kills a large portion of Wing's fanbase. Same reason FT has girl Quatre in a love triangle with Trowa clone and Zech's son. They aren't going to confirm the originals are dating so it's the next best thing.
I'm gonna call you homosexual Mcmoron.
it still amazes me how Wing had three stoic dudes in its main cast
Heero is the sad stoic one while Trowa is the mysterious stoic who is slightly less autistic.
I dunno, the whole
>Are these my tears?
Scene felt pretty sadboy stoic.
Well the mystery was that he was sad and somebody has to play bass in the band.
Why don't they have nipples?
They lay eggs.
They're all sadboys to some degree
Trowa was my favorite Gundam pilot in Wing but at the same time I feel like I don't have much of a choice. Many of you edgelords like Duo for some reason but he's the cringiest of all of them
Isn't Duo the only vaguely normal one
Only on the surface level
I mean, there's not much more to Duo beyond that, really. Among the G boys he's probably the least developed overall, beyond his chapter in Episode Zero.
Yeah but despite being the least developed Duo still manages to stand out by at least being... an actual fricking human being. He's the funny guy of the group and when the other three are this dry that goes a long fricking way.

You gotta make yourself laugh
Yeah he's easily the most sane of the Gundam pilots.
>most sane
>Duo
Heero, Duo, Quatre, and Trowa all tried to kill themselves via self-detonation. The only sane one was Wufei.
Duo and Quatre only did it because they were in a no-win scenario and felt taking out as many as possible would have been the best course of action. Also Wufei stabbed his gundam's backpack to try and escape which -should- have killed him. Stop spreading misinformation like a moron.
I like Quatre because he's insane
Wasn't he insane for just a couple episodes?
He wasn't insane, just Newtype.
>Friendly guy who likes to party that calls himself the god of death when committing terrorism treating it like a game
>cringiest of them all
morons like you like to think the ideal form of "Normal" is Beavis and Butthead.

Was that ever explained?
Something something Zero something something
If Duo is America, what does it mean if he's trusting, nice, and easy going?
probably because they kind of see them as the japan of the west. High cultural power and prestige
, snobs to non-thems, good food, knight=samurai and shit.
I wouldn't consider Wufei stoic. He's like a prototype Yzak.
Why did this show need two stoic, self punishing hardass boys. Felt like him and Heero were competing to fill the same niche.
Because it was for girls who get off on the quiet dreamy pretty boy they can fix.
That explains the need for one. Usually these kinds of fujo friendly groups don't have such heavily overlapping archetypes though, unless they are directly rivals.
thing is a fifth guy was unnecessary and was just a carryover from g gundam
I enjoy Trowa and his sister being lovers
Because the Wing boys spent most of their time split up into smaller groups. By having two stoics it's easier on the writers to ensure there is always a stoic in each group. Now there are times when both Heero and Trowa are together, and in those instances Heero doubles down on his stoic attitude to compensate.
Trowa shows more sad emotions than Heero. For Heero the only non stoic emotion I can think of is when he does his evil laugh
Yeah, the circus girl. Apparently, they frick, too.
>Apparently, they frick, too.
Based but I'm gonna need sauce for that chief

>they never discover it
But he knows his real name by Frozen Teardrop
>it's revealed that Trowa is Catherine's actual blood brother Triton Bloom
>be him
>be the actual best pilot in wing
>cutie circus girl always protecting him
>gets the most kills
>carries the rest of those jobbers on his back even when he has memory loss
>writers retroactively frick him by making the only female he could conceivably haveinterest in his blood sister

Even LADY URN??

>writers retroactively frick him by making the only female he could conceivably haveinterest in his blood sister
Why is this a problem?
She grew up to be pretty hot in frozen teardrop.
Wing was really ahead of its time, making the clown character the least edgy.
Explain
Anyone know where a guy could find the old Heero Yuy: Suicide Watch short? Seems to have disappeared from both Youtube and Newgrounds.
Or Yang.
