>If you don't quite being Spider-Man for a week and throw your costume in the trash THE UNIVERSE WILL END
>If you aren't trapped under some debris then push it off you THE UNIVERSE WILL END
>If you don't get married THE UNIVERSE WILL END
What did they mean by this?

Comic 616 should be a fricking wasteland then.
This only works if you take it as a jab at the people who hated Holland...though even he lifted rubble.
It's a jab at people who don't like Miles because the directors think people want him to rehash the same story beats as Peter for some reason.
Weird, because Holland fits too well.
>Criticized for being pals with the Avengers.
>Criticized for not having a Ben.
>Criticized for not being a total loner.
But the "real" spider-man isn't married.
Even if it’s not canon he had a marriage story arc and that’s literally all they care about
The supposed out-of-universe reason for OMD was to meet the expectations of stubborn fans who couldn't accept Peter moving on with his life.
This movie's depiction of stubborn continuity between universes is supposedly criticizing that attitude. So shouldn't it essentially be a rule that they CAN'T get married?
I don't understand what this movie is trying to say.
What series is this strict about canon? Even existing well received Spider-man stories aren't like this.
You'll note the advocate of that philosophy (Miguel) was shown to be in the wrong despite his good intentions. He's looking more at the correlations of the various beats Spider folk go through and thinking they're more like causation, and he's too afraid to think otherwise on the off chance reality actually does die.
The universe ending is an allegory for fan backlash, with Miguel being “one of the good ones”. The movie is literally about Miles saying “frick the haters I’m Spider-Man now”
Okay but like... Miguel himself is literally a well liked Spider-Man that doesn't follow Peter's story beats as a bible.
This implies the writers don't even know who Miguel is... or aren't even aware of Holland Spider-man. It makes no sense.
Now you're getting it. Notice how they made up Spider-Man No More and If This Be My Destiny arcs for Hobie and Jessica even though that never happened anywhere else. It's a strawman that normalgays can accept
It's trying to be a strawman by making fun of spider-mans accepting their fate to suffer and trying to elevate Miles as the only smart one. Not very smartly written. Could've made each side have their point without making one of them look comically villainous and wrong.
I forget, what event was Gwen looking at?
Her own death.
I hope that in Beyond, they'll explore more about WHY avoiding a canon event results in devastation.
This is to mock fans who want everything to go like they want to
And theyre right, sounds great
So, did Miguel only recruit Spider-people who would be yes men to his plans? Did NO ONE aside from Hobie and Miles ever object?
I guess they thought they didn't have much of a choice and that they were doing good. You know when does my problem with them began? When Miguel imprisoned Miles and NO ONE objected. And then when Miguel loses Miles out of all those morons there including Peter B. Parker, only Gwen objects to Miguel's actions. I mean, what the frick?
Yeah making everyone seem like complacent yes-men when Spider-Man is known for bending the rules is weird.
Like, if Pav had lost the Inspector or the girl he likes, would Miguel have told him: "Sorry, dude. It is what it is"? How does Pav not reject Miguel after that? Hell, how does anyone not reject Miguel after basically being told "You absolutely have to suffer"
I'm glad <spoiler>Noir</spoiler> wasn't in this. Because <spoiler>seeing him at the very last ten seconds</spoiler> makes me so FRICKING excited for part two that I can't put into words. Like damn, absents really does make the heart grow fonder, huh?
freaking reddit posters
it means they should instead take the clone pill
>Include Ben in the movie because he's an iconic character with an iconic design
>Never acknowledge that he's a clone because that pokes too many holes in the plot you're trying to push
>Settle on making him a complete joke so people don't focus on him too much
>IT HAS TO BE LIKE THE COMICS OR ELSE
>Uh also Peter B has to get married and have a kid
So is he eventually going to have to make a deal with Mephisto and erase his kid or what?
Will everyone have to make a deal with Mephisto?
>implying they thought that far ahead
