If you support Harley’s old costume, you’re romanticizing her trauma and don’t like it when abuse victims move on. Sorry , even DC pointed it out. Embrace the new, ditch the old. The old was toxic and shitty to women/trauma survivors

I'm romanticing when she was a fun villain and not a psychopath that killed children in the past but somehow is a hero
That was retconned and never mentioned again. She's part of the batfamily get over it
>That was retconned
No it wasn't o teller of lies.
Go ahead and post the page it was retconned on, liar.
I'll even accept the exact issue it happened, liar liar.
I'll wait, you liar.
Li-ar.
She was just trying to reduce the surplus population and save the planet
Can you think of a better way to deal with dwindling resources than blowing up children?
Blowing up old people. They consume more resources than children, have far less potential use to society, and consistently vote against humanity's long-term (and, more recently, short-term) interests. Mandatory euthanasia after the age of 70 would be such a massive improvement that society would be almost unrecognizable.
Harley is progressive, and supports post term assisted abortion. Her body, her choice shitlord.
Have you ever noticed that no one laughs at your "jokes"?
>(and, more recently, short-term) interests
Why's that? I thought boomers did shit because they wanted headpats or wanted to live in comfort while the rest of the world burns, isn't that a short-term interest?
They've been voting against Social Security, their main source of income, and Medicaid, the only reason most of them are alive, for years. They ignored all the warnings about COVID and hundreds of thousands of them died because of it. They've definitely moved beyond caring about their own health or comfort. They're more interested in seeing other people suffer.
>They've been voting against Social Security, their main source of income, and Medicaid, the only reason most of them are alive, for years.
>They ignored all the warnings about COVID and hundreds of thousands of them died because of it.
Wait
So they've been voting against things that benefit them but increase the tax burden on the younger generations and they've been willingly exposing themselves to a deadly pathogen so they die sooner and lessen the tax burden further.
>They're more interested in seeing other people suffer.
What exactly does voting against their own interests and dying do to make others suffer?
Their heads are so far up their own asses that they'll agree to anything as long as they even THINK it'll hurt some group they hate (blacks, poor people, gays, etc).
Yes, I'm sure that's their entire motivation
Blacks, poor people, and gays rely on social security because they live so long
By any chance are they a group you hate?
Considering the state of our nursing homes I'd rather get euthanised unironically
>you’re romanticizing her trauma
Yes I am. Now what?
No, I just miss when she was a character and not just “OMG IM SOOO GAY!! IVY IVY IVY IVY IVY IVY!!!!! ZOMG I LOOOVE IVY!”
it make my weiner hard
they enjoyed her abuse
they enjoyed her pain
they enjoyed that she was a dumb prostitute
no arguing with these people
Modern Harley is def better. I love her with Ivy and away from Joker.
Harley was introduced into canon comics in 1999. She left Joker and got her own series in 2000.
No, the clown design is just superior and her personality was much more fun. For her to have been that way is now excused cuz she was doing it to be liked by Joker.
Anyway, she's a much more interesting character to explore victim-hood with, and not the one-sided version, but bring intricacy and more balance to the whole story. She might be a victim, but she's also an enabler. She isn't innocent either and with her you effectively could show the different sides of a in reality very dramatic and complex dynamic and relationship. And cuz they're v funni clowns it's entertaining. A fun vile over a tragic story gives dimension. She's a waste of a character if she's not with J. They both complement each other in that fricked up villainous kind of way.
well said anon. she's not at all innocent, its just that people focus on the part where she gets kicked out of windows instead of the part where she willingly goes back to him because J is her type
What was the exact moment that Harley decided she was done with the Joker
She'll go back after after she goes Gaga on cellulose.
frick you, jester/clowngirls are hot
So she can't have her old costume, okay, fine.
Why can't she have a good costume though?
because for one halloween a bunch of college-age white girls dressed up as her, and we desperately want to repeat that success
I desperately want more white girls in daisy dukes and fishnet thighhighs as well, good going DC Corporate
At least it was a costume. She just wears street clothes now.
This will forever be Harley for me. I don't even register the new shit as her character.
Can't wait for Joker to join the Bat family because he had a sad past, I can already see Harvey Dent in spandex.
uwu
Cringe
Does NuHarley have a character outside of munching Ivy’s vegana?
Everyone in the DC universe loves her despite not being able to track any conversation they are having with her.
She's just so stunning and powerful
I still find bizarre that Harley the serial killer gets to be in the Justice League while Jason Todd the vigilante gets shun as a loose canon that can't be trusted.
Both are kind of the same character if you think about it, but one panders to "quirky" girls while the other is for edgelord teens.
>essentially the same character
Role=/character. Jason never simped for a criminal and aims only criminals, but Harley doesn't contradict or paint Batman in a bad light. He doesn't have any waifugay either.
I don't understand what happens in this comic
So if I like Batman's costume, I don't like kids without dead parents?
Darn! Psychology changes so quickly that a lesser mind would say it's entirely made up! But I know 8888 pronouns, so I'm no lesser mind.
>abuse victims
>trauma survivors
morons like you have destroyed this character, you're welcome to the ruins.
It's just a better costume.
Sad how just a few years ago, Palmiotti was paying homage to the classic costume while still keeping the modern one as the standard instead of what DC's doing now of trying so desperately to demonize the classic look.
This has made me think how cool it would feel to have your old capeshit costume in a secret drawer when you're retired.
I need to rewatch the incredibles
>compare Harley to trauma survivors
>stop romanticizing her trauma
You first.
>The old Harley was toxic and shitty
Kind of you to notice.
No, I actually want her to get to a point where she's resolved her trauma so well that she's capable of choosing to wear it for herself without the joker being involved.
But the sexy tight jester outfit is hotter.
Dressing like a hooker & using the same name given to you by your abuser is not "moving on".
To hell with the psychobabble, the original's a better costume.
I'm still not sure why she can't have her old costume, especially since comics want to cover up women these days
Harley Quinn was only ever interesting when she was a beaten sad puppy for Joker.
Want her to break free from that? Great! Have her leave the Harley Quinn life forever, retire from the super shit, get an office job or something, just be done with it and move on to something else, there's absolutely no reason for her to still be part of the action when she's reasonably at best sidekick tier. Harleywank is even stupider than either Batwank or Jokerwank, her skillset isn't suitable for anything aside from her position when she was under Joker. If she wants to atone for her sins or some stupid shit just stay out of it.
>words words words
>because of past writrers frickups
Now that writers can claim costumes, which costumes also fall into this fallacy?
THERE MUST BE GOOD ONES TO ABUSE
Harley is an awful person who deserved her abuse, but people gave her a pass because she's hot.
Stay mad b***h it’s her most iconic look always has been always will be.
all women should be beaten senseless.
Oh no.
Anyway.
God DC is for gays.
The thing I hate most about these gays that hem and haw about the OG costume is that they think Harley only stops being a victim when she abandons it while missing the point that Harley was never purely a victim. Yeah she's a mentally ill hanger on to Joker but she was also a violent stalker that attacked her fellow Arkham Staff to free him unprompted and violently responded to any form of outright rejection by the Joker by attacking whatever was coming between them even if it was the joker himself, it's why when he paid some bimbo to replace her she broke out of Arkham just to beat him into unconsciousness as punishment.
Harley should have stayed in BTAS. She should have stayed a tragic victim enthralled by a charismatic psychopath. That was the entire point of her character and she filled it well. wanting her to be a yaas queen hot topic warrior le quirky girl is missing the point. Nuharley is a totally different character. They can both exist that's fine, but just because you're too uncomfortable to handle a topic like domestic abuse and manipulation doesn't mean she needs to be sterilized into a bland heroine. The new Harley is more toxic. She was a warning to people to get out of bad relationships, she wasn't supposed to be idolized as a relatable main character, she was supposed to be a warning and an example. But you brainlets lack the critical thinking to not assume every character that gets screentime needs to be 'relatable' and that by showing bad behavior we're somehow 'promoting' it by giving it a platform to be seen. That's not how this shit works you easily influenced mental midget.
It's so crazy too, cause part of her separation was to show how well she can work independently; but all they've done afterwards is just make her completely co dependent on Ivy and vise versa. It's so bizarre just how clean her character is played now. Even Deadpool is treated with some level of unease and hostility in universe
This so much. I remember when she first left him I was like "she's just going to go back to him" because that's what abuse victims do until THE ABUSER changes (which Joker will never do).
As Chester Gould famously told R Crum, "If you can't tell the bad guys from the good guys then you're one of the bad guys!"
Me? I prefer Emancipation Harley
>OldHarley’s design being a sharp ass looking jester girl outfit
>NuHarley’s design being just the wardrobe of a young single LA woman
IDK Anon, you tell me which one is better
I can enjoy past and present but prefer past. It doesn't mean I'm romanticising trauma. I don't think the handling of her moving pass her trauma was compelling at all and if every villain who isn't an accurate, respectful, and wholesome take of trauma is no longer allowed then the entire Batman Rogues Gallery has to go.
Wait, why am I supposed to care about the well-being of a mass murderer psycho?
>you’re romanticizing her trauma
That's what made the character interesting in the first place, dummy. Otherwise, she'd just be remembered as Joker's least unfrickable goon.
I can't wait for Punchline to appear outside of comics and usurp Harley as the superior clown girl.
I think the only way to remedy this is a Batman Elseworlds where character origins are so vastly different from the originals that all you can do is back off and let them flourish
Like creating one where Superman never existed, and instead Kal-El was raised by crime lords becoming the Joker of that universe
>unironically using the word toxic in this context
OP is a denier of the Cambodian Genocide, and will likely present Cambodia as a fictional country to reinforce the narrative he is presenting
How would Harley be written if her writers weren't pro-Misc Pot?
Yes I do. Because I love my women to be victims. I don't need a b***h that talks back. I need a spouse that does as she was told and never asks twice.
Don't care, continue to jerk off to her when she was a crazy sexy b***h and you can't do anything about it
