Jackie Chan has used stunt doubles quite a bit. Also, it was mid 70's where he was a Bruce Lee Clone. Drunken Master onwards he was his own star.

I don't understand why Jackie is doing all these serious sad roles these days. Even in the new Hidden Strike film with John Cena he tried to do it.

He's too old to keep doing stunts, and years of success have convinced that he's a better actor than he really is.

Jacky never had a reputation as a Bruce Lee clone and never engaged in "Bruceploitation" films. The Bruce craze was from 1973 and was dying out by 1977 when it was being superseded by sci-fi. Jacky wasn't a star in that era, only after that and he made his name doing slap-stick comedy in films where he had a huge amount of autonomy to do what he wanted along with Sammo Hung

Debunked, he used stuntmen a shitload of times, but paid them to not take credit in order to build his brand. Worked really well. This myth did not survive 4k transfers, to put it that way.

    what de frick?

He never had a bruce lee clone reputation and it certainly wasn't by the mid-1980s when he had already cemented his career with films like Police Story

film illiterates in the west think everything began with Bruce Lee so any martial arts star that existed after Lee's death was "ripping off Bruce Lee." It's true that Lee broke barriers in terms of international success, but he was hardly the first kung fu star or even the best of his era

They weren't really looking at his stunts and that's not what they're saying, it's an edit someone made from a film.
