It was but ken was the most popular part of the movie and gained an ironic unironic ironic following so it kind of backfired, think about how much people talk about ken vs talk about that cringe feminist monologue at the end
Barbie was >MEN BAD
But they accidently showed the Patriachy as a utopia where everybody was happy until a feminist shrew whined at them until they all went back to toil away at in their office jobs.
>Starship troopers was a fascism critique/parody that people misinterpreted as fascism propaganda >Barbie is anti-men propaganda that people misinterpret as a feminism critique/parody
I can see that.

In that sense he is right. Compared to both the novel and Verhooven’s intent, Starship Troopers would be backfire of the cinematic century, second only to High Noon.

>Compared to both the novel
the point of the novel is that heinlein thought the world would be better if only people who had served in the military could vote. Verhooven was satirizing this with his adaptation.

>Heinlein thought that
Not really. Heinlein explores different political systems in his books. The service guarantees citizenship theme in Starship Trooper is just one of many.
For example The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is about anarcho capitalism on the moon. Stranger in a Strange Land is about communism and religious cults.
>whined at them
Oh no, they disenfranchised them. And that’s a good thing.
Nothing would really stop the Ken’s from just taking the power back by force but we’ll gloss over that.

Isn't that how it is in real life too?
Women's suffrage only really exists as long as men are okay with it.
You homosexuals really never understood that even clear facts can be interpreted differently.
Much more though stories no matter the intent.
You can watch there will be blood and say it's a cautionary tale about an obsessive, vain megalomaniac but I say it shows a remarkable character whose drive and ambition still demands respect and deserves admiration.
>lied to, plotted against and murdered people to get what he wants >demands respect and deserves admiration
Sure, you're entitled to your own opinion, but you're moronic. There Will Be Blood is an overrated movie anyway, from an overrated director, who has always been a mediocre writer.
>Average Cinemaphilener is still so moronic they think people liking Ken was an accident
Yes, they accidentally filmed all those scenes where Ken is a sympathetic and likeable character. For fricks sake Barbie literally apologizes to him at the end, despite him essentially being the antagonist, you morons
I'm a cute airhead and don't care if people call me a himbo or treat me like a kid. It sets their expectations really low, which is great for me so I'm not asked to do everything, because I can totally do basically anything but I'm also super lazy. Ahhhh. So cozy not having to do anything. Oooooh, ahhhhhh. So good. Mmmmmhmmmmm. One day I'll give in and be a househusband, but not right now. It's just so cozy right now. Three women pay for everything and do all the chores. I'm a total NEET. It's awesome.
It wasn't, but the "blonde fragility" jab makes it seem like it the lyricist had intended to in the first draft but took the song in a different direction.
Theres a common cliche with women centric movies that try to make a designated "moron man" character but unintentionally enda up being the most interesting character in the entire movie because despite his extremely moronic flaws, he was the only one allowed to have some flaws, which humanizes him much more for the audience. It also helps that they also tend to be funny and likeable than the idealized women protagonist
Yes it was. It had a point tho-we really shouldn't care about what women think of us and we shouldn't try so hard to win their affection/base our life around being loved/noticed

I don’t think that counts as backfiring
Yes it does, it's this generation's Starship Troopers
>this generation's Starship Troopers
So you're saying that Barbie actually was
>FEMINISM BAD
That most definitely wasn't the case.
Barbie was

bruh if fricking barbie went over your head then i suggest getting a lobotomy
Death of The Author, homosexual! KWAB
The message matters not. Nor does the artist. I will substitute this bad, faulty message with one of my own.
Based

How does that negate his drive and ambition being admirable qualities?
They are admirable qualities, but the way in which he was driven and ambitious is not admirable.
yeah ok dude go cry about "media literacy" on xitter or something
Still spamming this gay shit? Just frick off with the homosexual shit
>watching a movie starring a homosexual
Fricking stop
>Average Cinemaphilener is still so moronic they think people liking Ken was an accident

himbos, I doubt any himbos are lurking here
himbruh moment
Didn't see it. Bye.
This movie was so thematically inconsistent I couldn't even tell
It was literally made by an algorithm optimizing for safety.
>us
>us
I wasn't aware we are all 10/10 supermodels treated specifically by how good looking we are.
I do not care for the Goose's recent work.

I'll say it. I'll say what we're all thinking and feeling, but maybe too afraid to say outloud. I'll start: I'm Kenough.
yes. But much like the israeli caricature of whites archie bunker it ended up missing its target.
