One of, if not the first movies to have the sound purposely engineered to make use of 5.1. If you never saw it in the theater, it's magical the first time you hear how much work they put into sounds "moving".
Yes, Spielberg is the comfiest director of all time, the chuds here pretend to not like his movies because of what silly moustache man said 90 years ago.
He's... le israelite
Joking aside he hasn't made an amazing movie since Lincoln. Everything after is just white noise... who the frick cares about War Horse or BFG or West Side Story reboot?
>edgy israelite bashing
gtfo
Spielberg would have to actually wipe his ass with a roll of film and release it as a motion picture to taint his legacy
he's made undeniable kino
>he's made undeniable kino
They're all in the past. Meanwhile in the present he's whiling away on passion projects that interest nobody else (Fabelmans) and his old protégé Kathleen Kennedy is ruining everyone's favorite childhood movies
Jurassic Park in the theater was kindof a mess. A lot of theaters, including my local one, couldnt properly the new DTS soundtrack. A lot of people had to watch it in Stereo or the sound was all fricked up.
it's very good. it was fun as a kid because wheeee dinosaurs. it was a big deal because they were using new fancy techniques to make the dinosaurs more realistic. it's fun as an adult because it's just a pussy tight script and it has so many good lines.
the only thing i'd want is more. imagine a version of this movie that sticks to the book as closely as possible, making it like double the length. or so i assume because it's 1,000 pages.
say what you what about spielberg, but some of his movies are exactly what makes going to the movies fun.
A full book adaptation really lends better to a mini series. Either every episode is half park/half main land lab cray array sales pitch, or they jump back and forth.

>never got to see Muldoon in his rocket launcher glory, blowing raptors apart like nothing
>say what you what about spielberg, but some of his movies are exactly what makes going to the movies fun.
This was the end of the fun Spielberg era. Before the dark times. Before the Oscar bait.
i wore out my original release VHS copy from my childhood because i watched this movie almost every single day for years in the 90s. yes i am autistic and have maybe watched this movie more times than any other human so i think i agree
this. it's not the best movie ever, but it is the very rare example of a summer blockbuster that aims high and hits the mark perfectly. it lands basically everything it attempts, all the characters are good, the effects hold up incredibly well considering 90s cgi, the score is top shelf. it's great.
It is one of my top 3 favorites and will probably never leave that ranking for me.
I don't think it is the best movie ever made, but I also don't know what movie would take that title either.
Unironically yes.
For me, it's Billy and the Cloneasaurus
needs a tagline that skinner would think of.
no, black hawk down is
I have long said that Jurassic Park was the first and last good movie.

Spielberg is a fricking wizard
when did it become contrarian or edgy to hate on Stevey Spee?

If I could erase my memory of watching a movie so that I could experience it again on the big screen for the very first time, this would be my pick

I saw it in the theater when I was 9 or 10. One of the few movies I remember the whole experience. This and Land Before Time

For me, it's kung fu Gennaro fighting two raptors like Jackson Kong

I want this for Lost World.
favorite yes but objectively no
there's a deliberate plot hole otherwise it is damn near perfect
i wore out my original release VHS copy from my childhood because i watched this movie almost every single day for years in the 90s. yes i am autistic and have maybe watched this movie more times than any other human so i think i agree

It's definitely up there.
so fricking epic

>Do you agree?
i want to disagree but honestly you are right
i'm working on a chili and seabass recipe
