Soul: Rushmore, Darjeeling Limited, Royal Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom
Too polished, soul-less (lost in the sauce): Asteroid City, Isle of Dogs, Fantastic Mr. Fox, French Dispatch
the modern stuff is fun to watch just because of how masterful the direction is and how good the visuals are. but the characters are so flat and the emotions are just at 0. i mean get an ensemble cast of the best actors and actresses in the world and they all flatly deliver their lines with no emotion and no subtext. i'd like to see wes go far outside of his comfort zone for his next movie, either back to his routes or something completely unexpected like a horror film.
Fantastic Mr., Fox is great because it's a kid version of what he normally does and can get away with a bit more goofiness. That makes it special in itself.
>muhhh pastel colors and miniatures
I have the impression that he does not have a clue of what he's doing, he may be a good director but when it comes to storytelling and dialogue he is mediocre.
>Wes Anderson
The most plebbit director by far. Everytime rebbit hears the name Wes Le Anderson they literally shid, fard and coom their pants from excitement
>a symmetrical shot
I don't get this accusation. If anything his shots stand out as asymmetrical on purpose to me, the same goes with actors having contrasting heights and things like that. At the very least the asymmetry is equal to the symmetry.
Extremely based. He raises the bar in terms of references, his aesthetics are great and his recent movies are more and more emotionally layered and in the case of AC and the Dahl shorts, formally inventive.
French Dispatch made much more sense when I realised it's just an ode to the guy who keeps funding his weird little movies where he gets to take his time shooting them instead of forcing him to do specific stories with cgi to cut costs or rewriting them like most producers do. Wes knows that if that guy died then he'd lose that freedom, just like the journalists.

Looking back, he's undeservingly overhated.
>double negative
So we should hate him more, got it
>undeservingly overhated is a double negative
the average Cinemaphile poster IQ at work

Kino
He's based for a pedophile but cringe to normal humans.
he's crased

And what do you you think is the value of your impression?
Nta, but the same as yours or anyone else on here's
I do not care for Wes Anderson's movies. A series of boring conversations and awkward social interactions, contrasted with colorful clothing/scenery.
He used to be based, but is now a parody of himself.
I like him and I really don't give a shit what other people have to say about it.
all filmmakers are cringe by default
You can watch Fantastic Mr Fox, Isle of Dogs, Budapest, Darjeeling and Bottle Rocket, and safely skip the rest
the dahl shorts were the best thing released last year by such a huge margin its not even funny
Agreed
Bringe
>enjoying the films of wes anderson
I enjoy the films of Wes Anderson.
I think The Life Aquatic is probably his most underrated work. Why were so many filtered by it?
Because it's not funny and is offensively garish from a visual standpoint
Murray's best role, so suited to play a self-aggrandizing butthole
Life Aquatic is probably his best work.
Apparently his depth perception is very poor and that's why all of his movies look so flat.
he's israeli so I don't watch his works. there are many filmmakers whose works I don't watch.
A little of both.

Reddit hates Wes Anderson. He's firmly /our/guy for being the last vestige of WASP culture in America.
this
>If I post obvious lies to promote this hack nobody will know
try harder Black person
also stop samegayging
Stupid homosexual
>so new he thinks a screenshot is proof
LMAO where the frick all these newbies came from, is it perhaps rebbit lmao
>this mad over Wes Anderson
You should get some sunlight today man
Sorry I won't do it again
Cringe as frick. His little cute and weird films have nothing to say and are the illusion of creativity.
For me a Wes Anderson film is like intellectual counterfeit money when compared to a good kung fu film.
His aesthetic becomes tiresome after about 5 minutes of watching
Anderson is great but Asteroid City was a dud. Multiple rewatches don't help.
>i-is that a symmetrical shot with pastel colors
>omg I'm gon... I'm gonna cooooooooom

He's an evangelion fan and and asukagay.
Rushmore, TRT, Moonrise Kingdom Based
skip the rest. I can see how people enjoy Budapest (plebs) but it's just so boring with a couple of funny moments
I've only seen Fantastic Mr. Fox, so I say he's based.
He's slowly becoming like Spielberg or Shyamalan; For every "gud" film he made he made 2 awful movies
Extremely based. He raises the bar in terms of references, his aesthetics are great and his recent movies are more and more emotionally layered and in the case of AC and the Dahl shorts, formally inventive.
Didn’t like French Dispatch, enjoy most of his others, Life Aquatic and Grand Budapest are the best. He seems fairly based.
He looks autismo
He refuses to grow out of his comfort zone and sticks to his same old gimmicks
It's just the opposite, his latest output is more narratively experimental.
I enjoy the films of Wes Anderson. He is based. French Dispatch and Asteroid City are not great though.
