early 2000s humor is so bafflingly stupid looking back on it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV6664NVtoQ
for me its Gammy Num Nums
these clips make me think this movie is actually hilarious. have i been lied to all these years? is master of disguise actually a work of comedic genius a la Freddy got Fingered?
Well have you ever watched it? I unironically loved it since it was released and have rewatched it many times. I sort of understand why some people don't "get" it, but at the same time I think a lot of the hate is just people piling on because they think they're supposed to. It's one of those movies that no matter how many times I watch it, it makes me laugh the whole way through.
I feel this same way about this moronic movie. Cmon the stuff with the gay brother and the other brother who’s moronic and can’t read and trying to keep it secret, esp the scene where he’s trying to order the ice cream
they told us fart jokes would only be funny as kids, but im an adult and still laugh at the fart jokes in every comedy, infact they're even funnier to me now!
There’s lots of movie references, fart jokes, sex jokes, funny voices, and slapstick. And of course costumes. Almost the epitome of juvenile humor so naturally Cinemaphile loves it.
>noooooooooooooo you can only post about government mandated and approve Disney product!
How about you choke on a shotgun and pull the trigger, troony?
It's not. I remember enjoying it when I was younger and so I bought a copy and rewatched it recently. It's not good. There are some funny jokes, and the general plot has potential, but the whole film really feels like they got as far as "Dana Carvey does weird characters" built a flimsy film around that and then the studio butchered it in the edit. Scenes just come and go, jokes get used over and over to the point where they stop being funny.
That being said if you wanna get a bunch of friends around, get drunk/stoned and laugh AT the film, you might enjoy it that way.
It's the last great film. A production with real heart. They even commissioned three or four original songs about being a master of disguise, each one a joy to hear.
Austin Powers is remembered more fondly but it's nearly just as bad imo. Exact same type of humor, though Austin Powers has pretty good set and costume design
This is incorrect. Austin powers is hilarious and is widely regarded as such. Master of Disguise is one of the worst movies ever made. And I love Dana carvey. It’s on my list of all-time worst cinema right next to Tuck Everlasting.
They were filming the turtle scene when 9/11 happened, Dana Carvey was in the turtle costume when the entire cast took a minute of silence for the victims of 9/11.
just watched the deleted scenes on youtube >the grandfather being the cuteness (the dog) for 23 years is funny >the fat carnival guy saying troububble was funny >the revolving doors scooby doo gag was fummy >theextra turtle scene with him puking out the cigars was funny >the scarface guy was funny
to be honest they should have kept them in the movies too short
It set Mike Myer’s career on fire so probably not.
WHO DID IT BETTER?
>Mike Myers in huge bold letters will sell our movie
It was truly a different time.
Imagine a movie being so bad it ruins your career even though you’re not even in it.
Goldmember was good.
Waynes World 3 when??
dunno
if you want to torture yourself to the point of contemplating suicide then yes i guess
KINO
for me its Gammy Num Nums
>my grandson decided to disguise himself as a lady
ahead of their time!
Data trying to be a suave ladies man is pretty laughable.
>When he bites that homies nose off and spits it back on
what were they thinking?
I’ve been trying to answer that question for 22 years now.
>homie
He was white.
Whoa. It's crazy how he trailers they used to play on tv almost made this look like a watchable movie.

It could have been, but the main character is too shitty when he's not doing a disguise and it makes most of the movie a slog.
It’s so stupid it’s hilarious I don’t care what nobody says if you didn’t laugh once at this movie I don’t wanna know you pal!
I feel this same way about this moronic movie. Cmon the stuff with the gay brother and the other brother who’s moronic and can’t read and trying to keep it secret, esp the scene where he’s trying to order the ice cream
you guys want some cookieeeeees
nekkid granma
It's so fricking moronic that it wraps back around to kino.
That was fricking painful...He literally just keeps saying turtle. Why.
Because he's bad at disguises. His family is masterful at them and he's the family failure.
>is he okay?
filmed during 9/11
early 2000s humor is so bafflingly stupid looking back on it
reminder 9/11 happened while they were filming, and they took a moment silence and prayed
so bafflingly kino you mean
i never realized the bad guy in the movie was Data!
>The giant fart after he falls in the pool
Legitimately fricking hilarious
they told us fart jokes would only be funny as kids, but im an adult and still laugh at the fart jokes in every comedy, infact they're even funnier to me now!
oh no it's moronic.jpg
>the failed synchronised clicking
>is he dead?
>GIANT FART BUBBLE
>he make de stiinkee
KIIIIIIIIIIIINO
This is what politically correct woketard cancel culture libshits took from you.
There’s lots of movie references, fart jokes, sex jokes, funny voices, and slapstick. And of course costumes. Almost the epitome of juvenile humor so naturally Cinemaphile loves it.
What is “adult humor” to you? Steven Colbert or some shit? lol
There better be some fricking racism in there or you're frickin' dead, kiddo.
Sure there’s blackface, anti italian sentiment, and several jokes in the category of “it was funny at the time”.
>and several jokes in the category of “it was funny at the time”.
Has Dana promised since then To Do Better™ ?
brb watching Master of Disguise
i mean just look at OP pic
NO
NO
NO
NO
NNO
NO
It is literally the greatest comedic film ever made
The Turtle Scene is up there as one of the most revolutionary things ever depicted in a cinema
are Cinemaphile redditors about to start spamming the turtle scene like cat in the hat or son of the mask as a le ironic epic meme
>noooooooooooooo you can only post about government mandated and approve Disney product!
How about you choke on a shotgun and pull the trigger, troony?
You first homosexual
Stick it up your ass like how your uncle did before he made you transition
Go troon out your kid, pedo. You already ousted yourself by calling Cinemaphile “reddit.” Eat shit and get back to your homesite.
the absolute state
>He isn't turtley enough for the turtle club
Get back to redit
So you’re telling me with a straight face that isn’t Mike Myers?
Its Dana Carvey
That's Eddie Murphy, you fricking racist.
he's obsessed with big asses.
It's not. I remember enjoying it when I was younger and so I bought a copy and rewatched it recently. It's not good. Dana Carvey is a cringey, painfully unfunny little homosexual.
mad at his Faucci joke?
t. Lyle
Is my pH not high enough for the Sneed club?
It's the last great film. A production with real heart. They even commissioned three or four original songs about being a master of disguise, each one a joy to hear.
You like-a the cheese
>family buys first dvd player
>1 dvd to watch
>this was it
I watched this shit so many times
Are you Indian or Mexican?
he didn't fly so good
Did he died?!?!?!
yes but for a brief moment beforehand he truly lived. what will they say of you?
Austin Powers is remembered more fondly but it's nearly just as bad imo. Exact same type of humor, though Austin Powers has pretty good set and costume design
Austin Powers is hilarious
No way, I saw Master of Disguise when I was 11 and it sucked. I saw Goldmember when I was 12 (so less younger and dumber) and thought it was great.
master of disguise has aged like fine wine
Absolute truth. Austin Powers is no better than the Love Guru. Myers and Carvey have ALWAYS sucked.
This is incorrect. Austin powers is hilarious and is widely regarded as such. Master of Disguise is one of the worst movies ever made. And I love Dana carvey. It’s on my list of all-time worst cinema right next to Tuck Everlasting.
>t. has a little weiner and some tiny nuts
The first Austin Powers is a classic. The sequels do get progressively worse but even Goldmember is far better than this Master of Disguise turd.
Nah the first movie is a classic. The 2nd and 3rd have some solid bits too.
I saw it in theatres and thought it was fricking hysterical
to be fair, i was 5
It was dumb as frick but I liked it
>with your attitude they should be called crabby cakes
For me it’s Opportunity Knocks
back when we could joke about being gay
They were filming the turtle scene when 9/11 happened, Dana Carvey was in the turtle costume when the entire cast took a minute of silence for the victims of 9/11.
