the only bad aspect of her as a character is that she keeps getting saved at the last second from death
and twice now in the world between worlds (not to mention being brought back to life by a force god)
other than that she's a well written character and not a mary sue at all
>knows how to receive memories from objects like Cal Kestis >knows how to communicate with animals like Ezra >knows how to not breathe in water for hours on end
Nope. Her feats keep on getting crazier.
>knows how to receive memories from objects like Cal Kestis
common force power >knows how to communicate with animals like Ezra
common force power, enhanced by association with Morai >knows how to not breathe in water for hours on end
well you got me there, if she spent more than 5 minutes or so underwater she oughta be fucking dead
I don't understand how my boomer dad can just mindlessly watch endless starwars shows and similar crap. Even when I bring up how shitty they are he acknowledges it but somehow the mindless sludge pipe of content is still something he wants to spend hours watching. I just don't get it
>the character I don't like is le mary sue!
The term has lost all its meaning. At least look up the definition, you dumb nagger. Not surprising, considering that Cinemaphile is predominantly non-white and extremely low IQ.
>Star Wars pretty much centers around her at this point
No, it doesn't? lmao >I am surprised they haven't retconned her to be the chosen one
Why would they do that? The Chosen One is the one to kill the Sith and restore balance to the Force. Anakin did that. Do you enjoy being retarded?
I'd say it centers on bo-katan more than ahsoka, though if disney was smart they would pivot everything to her since her show is the only thing in star wars not absolute dogshit atm
there is absolutely no way ahsoka is a bigger mary sue than rey, leia, or finn (who went toe to toe with a sith apprentice in a light saber fight despite not having any jedi training or even being force sensitive at all in the end, which shouldn't have saved him regardless)
100% Rey. As annoying as Ahsoka's overwhelming competence is, at the very least she's actually shown training and learning to acquire those skills. And more importantly, she actually has consistent failures in judgement and losses with tangible consequences. Her biggest issue is being forced into fucking everything.
Rey's prowess is completely inexplicable. She learns advanced force techniques on a whim, picks up every skill she comes across, and beats far more experienced enemies with little to no training whatsoever. Important items in the universe are constantly handed to her. Her mistakes are either ultimately beneficial in the longrun (trusting Kylo which gets Snoke killed and plants the seeds of redemption in him) or completely inconsequential (losing her temper and killing Chewie only to find out that didn't actually happen) Nearly every single character in her trilogy revolves around her. Heroes are inspired by her. Legacy characters want to adopt her. Villains respect the danger she poses and want to convert her. As forced as Ahsoka is, Rey would probably be even worse if the negative reception of her trilogy hadn't discouraged Disney from touching her.
Using the criteria of this website: >https://springhole.net/writing/marysue.htm
I get a rating of about 44 for Ahsoka, being as unflattering as possible. >36-49 Points >Extremely high chance your character is a Mary Sue. VERY risky range.
That seems pretty bad right?
Well if I put in Rey from the sequel trilogy, being as generous as possible, I get a rating of 90. >50+ Points >Your character is almost certainly a Mary Sue, and a bad one at that.
But that's not the worst of it - if I plug in the answers for Sabine Wren, the Mando girl from the Rebels cartoon and the live-action Ahsoka show, I get a whopping 135, nearly three times as bad as the worst possible Mary Sue.
This test has always been kinda bullshit. If your character isn't hideous or disabled, you're naturally going to end up in the 40+ range for daring to create someone competent.
Kyle Katarn is objectively a Mary Sue, or more accurately, a Gary Stu: >the lore is rewritten so that he singlehandedly steals the Death Star plans by being a turbo badass Arnold Schwarzenegger super soldier and saves the rebellion from the darktrooper project >he gets to become the most powerful jedi ever with no training by having Force powers implanted directly into him by some ridiculous "Valley of the Jedi" so that he can defeat hordes of dark jedi, then gives his superpowers back for the sake of episodic status quo >he then decides to do all that over again against Desann and Tavion >he then follows you around showing off how invincible and powerful and totally badass and right about everything he is in Jedi Academy while battling literal Force Ghosts and throwing everyone around effortlessly >even if you try to kill him in a dark side run, you can't win because he's an unkillable author's pet
he makes Starkiller look like a fucking wimp in comparison
>turns into an infant the second he gets contradicted
as expected.
By the way Ahsoka is still shit.
Not a Mary Sue, not by a long shot, but still shit and this tantrum isn't going to change that

We weren't talking about whether Ahsoka is a shit character or not, it's about whether she's a Mary Sue or not. Since you're willing to accept that she's not a Mary Sue, I'm willing to accept she's a shit character. Is that agreeable to you?
There definitely is, but there is absolutely something to be said about Ahsoka's character having the thickest plot armor I've ever seen.
She's died BUT brought back to life by literal personifications of the Force.
She can go hold her own against foes that give even Anakin and Obi-Wan trouble and come out of it without a scratch.
She's clearly a writer's pet and that's been a problem for a while.
Because EU authors' pets weren't pushed as the main characters of TCW and their work was rendered non-canon. And honestly, none of those EU guys pulled shit as bad as the world between world shit.
Because there's a difference bewteen having a writer's pet in secondary material off doing their own thing, and there's Filoni putting his writer's pet front and center with the main characters like she's been relevant this entire time to the narrative of the 6 films and stealing Luke and Co.'s stories.
>literally going "it's ok when my side does it"
lol seething travissoids
people who pushed Mara (Sue) Jade and Galen Marek (Sue) Starkiller don't get to call other characters mary sues just because their preferred continuity got shitcanned

And people that actually deluded themselves into thinking Ahsoka is a good character get the rope when the Disney trash finally gets thrown out of the franchise.
Considering the EU side was never canon, never important, never pushed to the front of Star Wars, never stole the spotlight from major characters like Luke, Anakin, Obi-Wan... Yeah, it was okay when the EU did it, their Mary Sues and their general flaws were a lot less harmful. The EU also had some good shit here and there which made things easier, unlike Disneywars which is 100% trash.
>Considering the EU side was never canon, never important, never pushed to the front of Star Wars, never stole the spotlight from major characters like Luke, Anakin, Obi-Wan >the EU side was never canon
well you got something right in that sentence at least
>travissoids
I'm not going to tell you why this was a retarded thing to say when you then posted
people who pushed Mara (Sue) Jade and Galen Marek (Sue) Starkiller don't get to call other characters mary sues just because their preferred continuity got shitcanned
since you'd have to know about the state of the EU to realise why, and I'm not going to spoonfeed you the information to deflect with.
Just be aware that you've outed yourself.
>EU authors' pets weren't pushed as the main characters of TCW
George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, "pushed" Ahsoka as the main character of TCW. He effectively created and defined her character, too. >and their work was rendered non-canon
EU was never canon. >And honestly, none of those EU guys pulled shit as bad as the world between world shit.
lmao, retard
Then don't bring up something never being canon being rendered non-canon as if it's a legitimate point. It never was. However, you felt the need to say that "the EU never had anything as retarded." Well, it did. Much worse, in fact.

Rey.
FPBP, beat me to it, this, etc. At least Ahsoka had a couple cartoon seasons as an actual padawan.
Yea the clone wars worked well and she made a lot of mistakes during it. I pretend rebels and the new shows don't exist.
Rebels was actually decent. Everything else sucked.
Rey, you disneynagger shill.
You're right.
True. I've never watched Rebels and never will. I only like the younger pre-Disney version of Ahsoka.
She was in a handful of episodes in Rebels, one of which she ran into Vader, and it's implied he kicked her ass and killed her off.
the only bad aspect of her as a character is that she keeps getting saved at the last second from death
and twice now in the world between worlds (not to mention being brought back to life by a force god)

not even close
constantine is much more wanked than batman
Wow, I didn't think it could get any dumber than him surviving the fall from that skyscraper in TDK without a fucking scratch.
plot armour isn't the same as a Maey Sue
oxygen doesn't explode if there is nothing to burn
But the metal tank would melt, and then you've got a breach of a highly pressurised container in an environment that's close to vaccuum
oh yeah, didn't think of the metal

nope, fish are all mary sues

common force power, enhanced by association with Morai

Tales of the Jedi cemented her as the biggest Mary Sue.
>Is there a bigger Mary Sue in all of pop culture?
Not at first but then the movies quickly became a vehicle for her as soon as she married Paul W.S. Anderson.
I don't understand how my boomer dad can just mindlessly watch endless starwars shows and similar crap. Even when I bring up how shitty they are he acknowledges it but somehow the mindless sludge pipe of content is still something he wants to spend hours watching. I just don't get it
It's no different than drug or alcohol addiction.
Except for the whole "physically destructive physical addiction" part you moron.
The inactivity from endless binge watching leads to obesity and other health problems
Except drugs can give pleasure, if even only temporarily.

I fucking hate the actress for Bo-Katan with her busted bo-tox face.
Ahsoka Mary Sue has hundreds of thousands of hits on Google, it's an extremely common criticism of the character.
At least Rey is attractive. Ahsoka is just a nog in orange body paint.
>At least Rey is attractive
lmao homosexual

I bet you're into xenomorphs sexually too
there's at least 3 bigger mary sues in her own franchise retard
Nah, Ahsoka takes the cake out of all Star Wars characters.

That website is outdated. After Tales of the Jedi and Ahsoka the Series, Ahsoka has now surpassed the others.
Fair enough.
no she hasn't
[citation needed]
name something in either of those series that added anything worse to her Mary Sue status than TCW already did

Kyle Katarn.
wrong
Kyle Katarn is objectively a Mary Sue, or more accurately, a Gary Stu:

There might be in the sense that Ahsoka at least trained to gain some of her abilities. But Ahsoka is the most insidious and forced Mary Sue of all.
How ?
she can mary sue my balls
The EU always was and still is canon.
