When I was a teenager my friend said "DUDE YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS SCENE IT'S ONE OF THE BEST SCENES IN MOVIE HISTORY" and then proceeded to make me watch the diner scene from Mulholland Drive completely divorced from context and got mad when I didn't react positively
They have low self-esteem. They're not capable of accepting that someone doesn't like what they like. They internalise it and consider it disapproval of them personally.
>People will lie and say that everyone else likes something because they can't defend their own opinions.
You see that on Cinemaphile with the guy who posts Sarah Gadon. Nobody else tries to claim that everyone loves their waifu, but he always makes sure to say it. It's really annoying behaviour, because it's dishonest and so you wouldn't trust that person.
shame about her butthole eyes i never left homie, watch ur step or its butthole eyes-posting again. been seeing too much of u homie, better lower the number of posts

But Sarah Gadon is the most beloved actress on this board.
I showed this guy who I thought was a film buff some old Clintkino and he was fricking yawning. I never talked to him after that and actively avoided his company.
I was watching DUNC with my mom who's approaching 80 and doesn't like SF but she was quite interested in the movie (I rarely watch SF with her - obviously not her favourite - she has no problem telling me if she wasn't invested in a film)

Maybe he was tired? I was watching one of the greatest westerns I've ever seen but I was running on like 3 hours of sleep. I realized I wasn't fully enjoying it in my current state and decided to go to sleep and come back to it the next day. And I enjoyed it even more.
What if they take like 10 minutes? Then it's really awkward. Your autism makes you unable to see you're pressuring people. I would keep it running so they can take as long as they want. People can always rewatch movies.
Yes - young people should have friends, because I had friends when I was young. I don't have friends anymore, nor do I really want them. Friends are just something that happen because you're forced to be around people and you like some of them.
Yeah but I keep the movie playing despite the signals to switch it or do something else entirely. It's my household so frick off if you don't want to watch it, it's staying on.
Staying with my boomer inlaws for xmas, it drives me nuts their relationship with TV. They spend atleast 4 hours EVERY DAY "watching" TV, but they are constantly either asleep half the time or having a conversation and not paying attention at all. Like, why even bother at that point, just turn the damn thing off.
I showed pic related to 3 girls in my room.
girl 1 >this is a man movie anon don't you have movies for girls
girl 2 >do you have netflix?
girl 3
do you have other movies saved?
I took it as a complement and kicked them out of my room.
I had a friend who took me to see the VVitch when it was in theaters. I remember noticing that he kept looking at me constantly, seconds before an impactful moment happened, wanting to see my reaction to it. As if he had watched the movie already and wanted to watch it again with me to see how I would respond to certain moments. I caught wind of him doing that halfway through and exaggerated my reactions to make him feel better then pretended to like the movie afterwards.
Feels like that would ruin the movie, there's a lot of stuff that happens out of nowhere like the baby vanishing or the goat killing everybody, so I imagine you'd feel his eyes on you and know something is about to happen.
no but i've had this happen with YT vids that i find funny but misses with a friend.
My father liked GOT but he didn't even smile when I showed him this.
Probably because it’s painfully unfunny, Jesus frick that was moronic. If I was your dad I would be mad at you for showing me that.
I'd disown you. Frick you. This is reddit. Your dad is probably more Cinemaphile than you.
Well I just got a score of 1518 in Suika Game. What's YOUR highest score?
My GF does this all the time. It was specially painful at 1984 since i really the movie
This is awful, dude. I feel bad for your dad.
douche chills. haven't had those in a while.
>shoulda warmed it under a hot tap
don't lie anon, your dad made the same face than picrel's?
You better think twice the next time you want to post something like that here.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Ah.
the trick is to just never recommend anything but make fun of everyone else's taste

>Mulholland Drive
You mean Mulholland Doctor?
If I'm watching a movie with someone it's something like Ninja Turtles or some action movie. I watch kino alone.
But Ninja Turtles is kino.
no i hate movies and also people
how old are you guys? no seriously
this is attention-whoring seen only in children
Children?

I've seen this manifest in other ways. People will lie and say that everyone else likes something because they can't defend their own opinions.

But Sarah Gadon is genuinely the most beloved actress on this board
Thank you for showing up, Gadonposter. I definitely love her, because I filter any thread where she appears. Can you feel the love?
shame about her butthole eyes

No. There's one autist obsessed with her.
Used to, now I've gotten better at picking and choosing what the people around me would prefer to watch.
Ah, so you're watching more Sarah Gadon kino now.
Stop making this thread all the time you stupid fricking Black person
I tried watching Dune with my dad a while back, he just kept talking over it
If you mean the new Dune then your dad is based.
lol

Whats worse is when they go to the restroom and you pause it and they tell you its okay
I take the opportunity to go to the bathroom myself. Usually I have to but didn't want to be the one to interrupt the movie.
>you pause it
What if they take like 10 minutes? Then it's really awkward. Your autism makes you unable to see you're pressuring people. I would keep it running so they can take as long as they want. People can always rewatch movies.
Do people still have friends and shit?
Yes - young people should have friends, because I had friends when I was young. I don't have friends anymore, nor do I really want them. Friends are just something that happen because you're forced to be around people and you like some of them.

Why were three random girls milling about in your room?
friends of mine who're a long term couple brought them to me cuz they were worried that I haven't had a gf in a long time.

Family turned off Whiplash because of the swearing. I was fuming
this frog seems to be ill.
it's perfect for this thread because only an mentally challenge person would think people would react the same.
I'm pretty good at judging what films to show to which people. I want people to be satisfied by the films I recommend, not force my taste one them.
Oh yeah? Recommend one to me.
