I heard good word of mouth around Shang-Chi's release, which made the movie way more disappointing.
A bad imitation kung fu flick with the Marvel factory blueprint all over it. I'd call it perfectly average if they didn't plug in a goofy sidekick to stand next to Shang-Chi, making sure we didn't take any of this seriously.
It's like Marvel writing repeatedly interferes with a completely unrelated movie.
Awkwafina really brings the film down when it wasn't already standing.

The father was a good man, really shouldnt have killed him. He really wasnt a bad guy anymore and yet the movie tries SOOOOOOOOO hard to make him seem like an evil butthole. Dude was just trying to save his wife and get his family back.

I feel like the main character in this movie barely talked at all or said anything meaningful. It was basically just about his dad and action scenes.
