>the exact same edgy gun-toting trenchcoat army man
It's Garth Ennis's self-insert wish-fulfillment character, like Terry Long was for some creepy sex pervert and Paul is for someone in Spider-Man editorial.
Like Moore, Ennis' work is actually all of the things he claims to hate
You don't read Ennis or Moore.

Alan Moore is a hack who can only steal the characters of better writers and write them getting sexually assaulted. He's on the same level as the average Ao3 writer.

I don't think Frank would ever rape women (his whole deal with that CIA chick) or threaten to kill children (Super Duper).

Butcher is what Ennis thinks the Punisher should be.

That doesn't make any sense given that he already had his own free-rein run on the Punisher.

I always got that feeling more with his personality, like he thinks that Punisher would be cooler if he wasn't American
he's ennis' punisher as a scottsman

fair, but you get what I mean >Billy Butcher watched his loved one suffer at the hands of supers and now wages his own personal war against them >Frank Castle watched his loved ones suffer at the hands of criminals and he now wages a personal war against them >both use graphic indiscriminate violence as they systematically kill their chosen group through either unrelenting violence, well crafted plans, or a mixture of the two >both rock the longcoat are Caucasian with black hair with a strong jaw and a head that looks like a square or a rectangle
like they even have the same haircut >both are veterans who's career in war shaped them to become tough hardasses who were only able to escape their life in war with their family for a brief while before falling back into war after their civilian life fell through
Like its fairly obvious Butcher is a Punisher type character given all the other Boys characters are parodies of one or another. Even Billy being killed at the end of the story falls in line with Ennis believing Frank eventually needs to get put down at the end of his Frankening by either himself or somebody else.

Do you think Tommy Monaghan, Jesse Custer, Frank Castle and Butcher are actually particularly similar characters?
Butcher is what Ennis thinks the Punisher should be.
I always got that feeling more with his personality, like he thinks that Punisher would be cooler if he wasn't American
The Boys had a scene where Vought lands four dudes with machine guns on the X-Men's front lawn and kill 300 supers in 30 seconds. There's another scene where the second strongest superhero on Earth runs away because someone threw glass at him. Ennis didn't do a very good job of actually making the superheroes seem threatening. But in Ennis' defense, every time someone kills a superhero, it's preceded by someone else saying 'wow, good thing we have these super dense, depleted uranium anti-superhero bullets. We'd be fricked without those.' Even the finale had someone say 'wow, good thing Butcher had that superhero tracking device from Russia that lets our missiles lock on to them, we'd be fricked without those.'
I don't think Frank would ever rape women (his whole deal with that CIA chick) or threaten to kill children (Super Duper).
It wasn't rape, was it? It was just really rough hatesex. Because Butcher is a manly man and even women who hate him want him.
>No doubt Hughie's tendency to mope and turn inwards is a source of frustration to many readers, all used to comic heroes who learn from experience and develop into fully-rounded characters ready to handle anything. In my experience this is like no one who's ever existed in real life; even the most capable people either maintain or eventually return to their essential flaws. I doubt any twenty-something lad unused to trauma and violence could simply absorb it straightaway, and if he did become hardened or inured it would be as a different, less sensitive person.
>man pees his pants with a visible puddle >big tough guys who laugh a lot but are actually super dangerous >EXTREMELY horny strong women

It's funny because when Ennis tries to write actually lighthearted stories he's pretty good at it. Dude's definitely at his best when he has to tardwrangle himself a bit. Punisher and Hitman being pretty good are partially because of that. The Boys and Crossed are undoubtedly the worst things I've ever read, though. Probably a nice guy in real life
he is no doubt a peeping tom or some kind of voyeur cuck.
every comic he makes has lengthy instances of characters viewing sexual stuff through binoculars. Its so frequent thats its practically part of his every setup. >guys with binoculars view distant thing, probably sexual >they talk for an entire page >surprise the threat is closer that it appears >repeat
Im not sure why I feel like Im the only one who sees hes a hacky mofo with some funny comedy skits and a lot of cringe moments. punisher max was good doe
Ennis is really just the comic book equivalent of George Lucas. When he's on the ball, he's good. Great even. But he desperately needs a tard wrangler next to him to keep him in check and make sure his more out there shit doesn't come out, and that's how we get peak Frankening in Punisher MAX, even with the occasional random capebashing and FRICKIN' OIRELAND sprinkled in there. Let Ennis out of his leash however, and we get slop like Crossed.
Jennifer Blood is a comic Ennis wrote for Dynamite. He leaves the series after issue 6 and Al Ewing deconstructs it in a way that is to some extent a commentary on Ennis's style of writing.
So people who like talking about Ennis's style of writing on here would like it.
She's not a normal person. The sound of his voice gives her an orgasm.
>it's a Garth Ennis' story
>at least one guy talks about the military industrial complex
i recall the The Boys ending had the military save the day and shit all over the supes right
Yup, turned out irradiated anti air rounds tore even the toughest supes apart
Why does Ennis complain that superheroes are all the same, and then write the exact same edgy gun-toting trenchcoat army man in every story?
He's Irish and therefore constantly drunk.
>the exact same edgy gun-toting trenchcoat army man

Same reason Moore always returns to rape: it’s his trademark.
You don't read Ennis or Moore.

What do those 2 things have to do with each other.
His MCs are always same and yet he complains that all capeshit is same. He is a hypocrite.

Jesse and Tommy yeah, personality wise

Unironically yeah he wishes Punisher was SAS lol.
No, the ending is about Butcher vs Hughie.

Ennis is intensely pro-military.
Especially average grunts.

ZACK SNYDER IS GONNA FREAK
Damn, another Hazbin thread.
>male character is raped and emasculated/sissified by another man and it's played for laughs
>LOL masculine man is dressed as woman
He’s done this like 20 times.
Seriously why is this such a staple in his comics. Is it his fetish?
Name 10 times it happened.
Proof?
I mean Americanism, Nazism, and Capitalism are hyper masculine ideologies so emasculation is the easy way to beat them.
Beat them, or just beat down the populace?

i forgot the deleted scene where the ewoks raped leia and Han infront of a butchered c3po
Why didn't Punisher let Microchip live?
The spooks he was working with were bringing drugs into the country. In Frank's defense he did give him a chance to run
i know what you're trying to say but no one wants to read a garth ennis story where characters DONT talk like that

Ewing is even worse than Ennis.
