I rewatched the tooth episode last night. Hal was totally right. If you say to a friend that you're going to take care of something for them in a professional capacity, that means that you are either going to do it for free or at least at cost.

        Anonymous

IIRC he got the "friend" discount, which I think is fair.

          Anonymous

The "friend" discount was 10%. Unless he specifies that beforehand, it's not okay. He knew that Hal couldn't afford $2000 (even though they seem to spend tens of thousands of dollars every few episodes to repair the damage caused by the boys).

Well tbf when he moved out there was all that credit card shenanigans, so I doubt he could have ever made it as a chef, although for someone like him it would probably be a better suited environment than almost anywhere else.
But he seemed pretty content with being a janny, especially since he was a janny for life.

Its mentioned several times througbout the series tho. But yeah him becoming a janny was dumb

i think they wanted to make a point that the world needs janitors, garbage collectors and that kind of shit jobs and that there's nothing wrong with doing them. also that even though he is a genious at cooking, he is a fricking idiot at everything else so there's no way he could make it as a chef in normal restaurant working with other people and for actual customers

the final episode is too heavy handed, too preachy

Who was right in that episode where they get jury duty?

Probably Abe. Hal is the kind of guy swayed by emotional arguments rather than appeals to reason.

Been ages since I watched it but was Hal a chubby chaser or was he into fat asses?

I always figured it was just his extreme obsession with Lois and the fact that he felt like he wanted as much Lois as he could get. More mass = more wife to bang

I said this last thread but I love the episode where Hal first gets invited to the poker game and he’s super uncomfortable around all the other guys who are big black dudes but eventually it’s revealed that he feels out of place not because he’s the only white guy but because they’re all moderately successful business professionals and he’s just a glorified office temp kek
Also the episode where they all are one-upping each other betting on personal accolades and “who can?” type stuff where it’s revealed that Hal bangs Lois at least a dozen times a week is kino

for example he was an extreme deviant who was constantly horny and it’s brought up a bunch in the show

          Anonymous

he switches his fetishes around from time to time, although at the center of it is always lois. there's a webm about this, maybe it's from that same episode actually

        Anonymous

I always saw it as hal just being so in love/horny for lois that he was still into her no matter how big she got, he was pushing the limits to test himself but there seemingly wasn't one, not a specific fetish for fat chicks.

        >Why did a lower middle class white mom care about this?
That is literally the focus of the episode. She had no reason to care. She was just being Lois. Also she was a fricking hypocrite, either the episode directly prior to this one or at most a few back was about her fricking over Malcolm for not following stupid instructions at work.

      Anonymous

He and Malcolm pushed everyone away by being jackasses. While aggression is something people respect, he had too much of that in him and it tipped him over the edge of "Assertive" to "Fricking psycho"

He's a legit narcicisstic autist who doesnt understand why people would mind getting egged by him or whatever.
There's also an episode where malcolm and reese analyse each other and come to the conclusion that they're scared of getting rejected and behave the way they do to preempt that and be the first reject other people that kind of flies in the face of the first point.
