the sex scene is three hours long with brief flashbacks to moments at los alamos and climaxes as Oppenheimer shouts JEAN I'M EXPLODING INTO YOUR vegana and cuts to a shot of nukes causing the entire world to explode

Not just 3 hours, but 3 hours of boring Nolan dialogue, zero emotion, and a complete snore from start ro finish. Oh, but it's shot nicely and some performances are good, so I guess that justifies it's existence?

What really solidifies it is the 9/10 for all critics and top critics. And it’s 96 on Metacritic. Unless it drop’s significantly, it’ll be Nolan’s highest rated film.

This review reads like it was written by Chat-GPT. The lack of concrete details (he says there are historical innacuracies but doesn't name any of them and in fact doesn't actually reference anything that happened in the film at all, just talks vaguely about "the performance was uninspiring" etc.) is suspicious, like someone told Chat gpt to write a 1 star review of Oppenheimer

      Anonymous

This is incorrect. First, confirmed that it’s bad and one of the worst films released this year. Second, critics also rated Barbie highly, and it’s woke pro-trans garbage that stands against everything we worked so hard for in the Cinemaphile movement. Boycott BOTH films.

  54. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

    Just saw it.
There's 2 movies wrapped into one:
Student days followed by the "gadget" project and a Mccarthy style hearing/deposition. Both of them are intertwined.
The plot structure is a complete rip off of the social network.

The Mccarthy style guys are trying to railroad Oppie for being too close to commies. The big architect of this plot to sideline Oppie from US politics gets blown the frick out and is portrayed as a jealous striver manipulating the gov machine to bring down the morally superior commie sympathizer (Oppie).

He cheats on his conservative wife with his commie mistress.
RDJ plays a bit more subdued at first but by the time it's revealed he's this machine politician he goes full RDJ.

    The film is softly pozzed:
The expert scientists vs evil nat sec politicians and army guys.
    Commies vs evil right wingers.
Evil people who wants the bomb to defend their country and save the boys from a massacre vs the morally superior "noo it's wrong!".

The movie is too long, way too "we need a worldwide governance to control the bombs".
Matt Damon as the army guy is surprisingly extremely based and keeps threatening to execute the soft scientists for breaking security protocol.

Sex scene wasn't long at all but it's pretty graphic. (and there's a call back to it a bit later). Very few bomb images (1/3 of them are in the trailer). Black and white back and forth was stupid.
    6/10.

The editing in the second sex scene implies the interrogators want him vulnerable.
