Critics like theme park rides just as much as MCU fans. They just like them to have above average production values and a recognizable "auteur" behind the wheel.

Between 50% and 75% is the sweet spot. I'm highly suspicious of anything above that, and films below are usually garbage.
Also Blurbs like this in the consensus.
> even if its intellectual reach somewhat exceeds its grasp.
Guess these flicks.
> ##### may prove frustrating for viewers who demand absolute coherence, but it does justice to its acclaimed source material -- and should satisfy fans of director #####.
> Dense, obtuse, but stimulating, ### is a film for viewers ready for a cerebral challenge
> ####'s ambitious directorial debut occasionally strains to connect, but ultimately provides fascinating insight into a writer's mind

The Watchmen
>Dense, obtuse, but stimulating, ### is a film for viewers ready for a cerebral challenge
Poor Things
>####'s ambitious directorial debut occasionally strains to connect, but ultimately provides fascinating insight into a writer's mind
Adaptation
> The Watchmen
It's Inherent Vice. 74% RT.
> Poor Things
Primer. 73% RT.
> Adaptation
You were close but it's synecdoche new york. 69% RT.
I honestly thought I got all 3 lol
>Inherent Vice
Damn, I really should've gotten that one
Here's a fun one.
> A fun movie...if you can accept the excessive gore and wooden acting.
That could be countless films. The first that comes to mind is Malignant.
If that's not it, what decade did it come out?
I'll give you the year. 1997.
Gotta be I Know What You Did Last Summer
It's an action movie that gets talked about here all the time. Media literacy is often thrown around during its discussion.
Starship Troopers?
I dunno, I give up.
Correct.
Frick yeah
Here's one for you.
>#### directly addresses the horror of capitalism, in which other people are just props for the fantasies of men who get wealthier by the second.
American Psycho.
Of course
Nice.
100% correct. less than 60% means it's probably bad, between 60-85% means it's probably good, but beware of getting filtere. 85%+ means it's either actually a great film or popcorn brain rot.
If that's true then why didn't Ad Astra score higher?
Ad Astra and Gravity are equally irrelevant I'd say. Although, it has some cult following like Sunshine.
They're not scores. It breaks down every review into Yes or No and gives you the percentage of Yeses.
female main character bonus
Arrival 94%, 82%
Arrival isn't a space sci-fi film. More like a first contact film like The Thing or E.T.
Arrival fricking sucked
>Critics like theme park rides just as much as MCU fans
It’s all about woke points. Critics gave woke points to Gravity because Sandra Bullock is a woman, and they gave woke points to Black Panther because that black guy was a black guy.
I've never seen it and I've never had the desire to. The last sci-fi thing I loved was Beyond the Aquila Rift.
Gravity was great and stunning on an IMAX screen. The problem with it is Sandra Bullock's acting is extremely annoying in many scenes. But aside from that, it's a very good movie.
Those are pretty weak movies, Gravity is the worst. You forget 99% about their plots before the credits are rolling.
literally all those movies are dogshit
Spacebros… is it really over?
>Spacebros… is it really over?
Yeah, sci fi is dead. Has been for a while
Dogshit genre.
Only if base you opinion on what tries to pass as sci fi in the last 20 years or so
Everything before that was shit as well.
> Le spoopy scary bug......in SPACE!
> Le apple ipod......in SPACE!
Frick off.
That's not an argument
Spaceman starring Adam Sandler was a good one give that a watch
Because Gravity was shit and was only praised for the intial space debris sequence and only when seen at cinema
There's also the final scene where the chink station is re-entering and Sandra reaches it with a fire equtinquisher. That shit looked great.
shit was just ripping off Wall-E
Lmao 90% of that movie did belong to a videogame.
dogshit movies
>marketing score
>normalgay score
There should be a cinephile score, where you have to prove you're autistic about movies.
I'm not but I'd like that.
All four of those are mediocre unfortunately. All though Gravity is the only movie which i saw in cinema that had actually good 3d effects.
1) Gravity
2) the martian
3) ad Astra
4) interstellar, because of its extremely shitty ending.
