Vol 1 is for a typical 15 year old who loves violence and sword fights. Yeah that stuff is cool but when you get older stuff like nuance and dialogue us more interesting

they were written and shot as one movie and the decision to split them up was made in editing because harvey weinstein was scared of releasing a three hour long kung-fu movie. if you prefer one to the other it's not because anything 'happened'
