Christ I forgot about that embarrassing mid credits scene. Had the rest of the film not been such shit I would have thought it was a parody of MCU but they don't deserve the benefit of doubt

rebooters and remakers should be banned from the industry.
im fricking sick and tired of supermans and batmans.
star wars should´ve never been touched because they turned it into an abomination and im not even a huge fan or anything.

Goddamn I hate these homosexuals so fricking much.
    "NO"
We don't want a reboot. Just give us a REAL episode 7 with Hamill and Ford coming back for one last adventure together with the cgi ghost of Carrie Fisher, and introduce a new trio of attractive early 20s actors (I literally don't care what their race or gender is as long as they aren't trannies and have actual character arcs) who continue the story in ep 8 and 9.
Give Luke and Solo a proper end to their story where they can go out in style as the heroes we looked up to them as. Several billion dollars at the box office without even trying.
IT'S LITERALLY THAT SIMPLE YOU GODDAMN CHUCKLEFRICKS

      And to add to this,
Luke could've been written as an evil character for the sequels and that wouldn't have been a problem in itself. But comments like Vaugn's along with literally everything disney has done has shown as that there is no one in hollywood prepared to take on this challenge who wouldn't catastrophically frick everything up if they tried going down that route.
So just play it safe YOU FRICKING HACKS

No. They wasted this opportunity, it's fricking over.
Cast new actors to play them, that's all.

      >jedi winks at the camera before maiming and dismembering the stormtroopers one by one while blitzkrieg bop plays in an extended one shot sequence
      >at the end, the jedi stands looking smug while the few surviving stormtroopers whine about their missing limbs
      >"I am so not doing okay right now". "this is NOT how I expected my Tuesday morning to go"

It's considered less of a risk to make films based on established properties so execs don't have to worry about losing their jobs if the film flops.

    >reboot Luke Skywalker
    No one actually wants that.
Even going back and making a "real episode 7" would feel like an exercise in bitterness with an 80 year old Mark Hamill, at his point. They need to wash their hands of that shit.

Maybe a cartoon about the further adventures of Luke Skywalker, at the absolute most. Though even then you need to come up with actual good stories, and Luke's story was finished in RoTJ.

They could do middle aged Luke. No one wants to see pre new hope kid Luke.
Overall I think it’s a super bad idea to recast Luke unless it’s animated. The story would have to be unrelated to vader. Definitely think it’s too late and they fricked up on anything Skywalker

      >Luke's story was finished in RoTJ
I feel like there was more to tell, but the time for that was in the late 80 or early 90s when the OG cast were the right side of geriatric and overuse of CGI wasn't an option. Worst thing Lucas ever did was go backwards. The Jedi at their peak worked way better as an idea that was open to interpretation like Arthurian legend.

I don't know. If you read the Thrawn trilogy, everything else in those books is really good, and Luke's kind of just there. He's a character who's finished his hero's journey and just is heroic by that point. What's interesting in those books is reading about Han Solo trying to go straight as a general, or Mara Jade, or whatever.

The books had too much new stuff because they had pages to fill. All new movies had to do was come up with 6 to 8 hrs worth of cool stuff for these beloved characters, and a couple of new ones, to get up to over 3 films.

      Frick you!
There are plenty of fans who want to see Hamill on the big screen do Luke justice one final time. That concept alone would guarantee over a billy. Have an actual good story/film surrounding that and you're back above $2bn

    >Canonical universe so large and varied that you can tell literally any kind of story you want
    >Hurr durr I need to reboot it because friggin Luke Skywalker!!!! Remember Tattooine?
A writer who wants to reboot star wars doesn't actually care about star wars. He just wants the easy attention and fame that would come with writing already iconic characters.
