The most brutal blackpill about addiction is that there is a possibility of permanent, irreversible brain damage that basically guarantees you will never, EVER get sober. If your frontal lobe is damaged, your impulse control gets fricked up and you actually can't do it. It can happen with head trauma, bipolar, or as a result of the drugs themselves. I seriously doubt that Bam ever kicks it, not to be a dick. It's heartbreaking.

I actually did do that though, so I see Bam and I know that he just doesn't actually want to quit drugs. He doesn't care what happens to him, he would rather have the hedonistic pleasure than get his shit together, and considering how every single member of Jackass were all huge drug takers and Steve-O was way way deeper into that shit than Bam but they all managed to quit. That's all that needs to be said.
The numbers on addiction recovery are skewed for two reasons. Reason number one is that genuine strength, commitment and discipline are rare qualities in people, especially today. Reason two is that the most prominent method of rehabilitation involves an idiot telling you that you're a weak little b***h and the only way you're going to kick the habit is by asking God to help you.
Case in point, Bam was always the biggest pussy out of all of them, he did the easiest stuff and there are numerous occasions where he was crying like a little girl. He was always happy to give it out, never want to take it back. He's a weak little b***h. That's why he can't sort himself out.
One of Bam's biggest hindrances is that he blames everything that happens to him on everyone else. He describes his mess of a life like it's a series of events that just coincidentally happen to him. He's pretty much the poster boy hopeless type of addict because he just lashes out at everybody for perceived injustices against him and still takes pretty much no responsibility.

I really doubt any addict is completely cured from his addiction because you are addicted for life. All of them would use their drug of choice again if no one was to find out.
You can be clean for decades but if someone leaves a bottle unattended where no one can see you, a drunk will drink it.

Not true. For example I know an old alcoholic who always kept a bottle of tequila in his house. He had plenty of opportunities to drink it. In fact, every alcoholic can drink with nobody finding out every time they drive home from work or walk into a gas station. His wife died and he dumped it down the sink. It's debatable whether you're always an addict or not, but it definitely gets way easier over time if you really try.
