MauLer did it best, pure autism kino, perfect background noise for wage slaving
I like this guy a bit more than Mauler actually. He goes into way more of an autistic deepdive + he corrects whatever error he made in the next part and mentions things that he missed but the audience pointed out
Mauler's better for when a shit movie is given a free pass from the mainstream, for whatever reason.
His style of autistic overanalysis fits for pointing out each and every detail that is being ignored when someone calls it a masterpiece.
For everything else, it doesn't work.
This. People's attention spans are so fried they need this sort of thing as background noise just to accomplish simple tasks
i need background noise so that i don't go insane from the oppressive silence
Genuine npc behaviour
Almost as bad as low iq normalgays who always needed the tv running in the background.
>from 20 years ago
12.
Unless you're such a moron/zoomer you don't know the difference between the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
>12
holy frick...
Wait until you find out that Return of the King is old enough to legally drink in America.
what went wrong?
They didn't give Jackson the preptime he didn't, and demanded he extend the two movies into three, and went back on various promises for plot (like promising Lily that there wasn't going to be a love subplot). Jackson straight up said he didn't know what was even happening on a day-to-day basis.
This. Everything in this. Add to it the baffling decision to turn that albino orc from a costume to CGI entirely, wtf?
But just the decision to make 3 films instead of two I think is the biggest contributor to its downfall.
What a bunch of losers. I thought this was reddit's reaction at first.

these are considered chump numbers now
>Why is this so common?
Videos like these are the result of failed directors. They never accomplished their dream, now they're making hack YT videos to cope.
nerds love to talk/listen to other nerds talk about their favorite/most hated thing(favorite-hate) and explain to each other precisely why they love and/or hate it.
women do this shit too. just with shoes and hair products bruh. go google 'youtube shoe reviews, 234823453846348567 results, also with 8 hr long videos of some broad talking about the stitching inside the sole of her shoe for 2 hours'
>people like talkinga about things that interest them
...yes anon. what a revelation.
>le popcorn movie from 20 years ago is…. no masterpiece
the previous entries in the franchise are some of the most beloved and acclaimed films of all time, The Hobbit not being anywhere those in terms of quality is a huge letdown
If you need to waste this much time explaining how bad something is, you're either a fricking moron or a youtube video essayist.
More like the hobbit: an unexpectedly shit movie that I'll never watch again
Because that's one of the few things the algorithm rewards, unfortunately.
>the algorithm
lmao what year is it again. get new material.
Are you seriously suggesting that the YouTube algorithm doesn't favour certain types of content (not to mention creators) over others, and that countless YouTubers don't tailor their content accordingly?
I'm calling you moronic for talking about this as if it's relevant or new.
>DID YOU GUYS KNOW...
replace with anything that everyone already knows and talked to death
Didn't suggest it was a new phenomenon. As for "relevant", did you miss the topic of the thread, Black person? Just because you're *bored* of some fact/phenomenon, that doesn't mean it's no longer true/a thing. So why do *you* think ridiculously bloated video essays about mainstream films are so common, genius? Better not bore me with your answer...
>Just because you're *bored* of some fact/phenomenon, that doesn't mean it's no longer true/a thing.
>just because you're bored of talking about thing that's been talked about more than sliced bread
>how awful you don't want to talk about it!
>my word!
slowpoke homosexual lmao
Not an argument. What's your alternative theory? If you don't have one, why are you even in this thread? Dumb twat.
>Not an argument.
inb4
>I accept your concession.
also noticed that like all the pseudo-intellectual parrots you wear out phrases that come half a decade before kek
You’re a fricking moron homosexual
Frick you, the way your mind works angers me.
Bots botting bots. Who cares they are outjewing the advertising israelite.
thank god I know about a world before Youtube and social media
I've never seen the Hobbit movies.
For me it's PatricianTV's 20 hour long Skyrim masterpiece
feels a bit phoned in after the quality of his oblivion and morrowind retrospectives but i could be biased
I think there is a clear improvement over time, the morrowind video is his worst one because he was still mainly doing plot summary as he was inexperienced. Oblivion, Skyrim and Starfield have shown a constant improvement in the contents on the video even as they get significantly longer and thus one would expect more padding
man children millennials will watch anything as an excuse to not hit the gym/have sex
>Why is this so common?
Because it's more enjoyable than watching the movies.
>runtime longer than the movie
>he doesn't watch his youtube vids on 2X
>he's still pointlessly wasting his life time watching 1X
Are we still pretending we read The Hobbit?
I have a hardcover copy gaynot everyone is an illiterate n word like you
anon, books are obsolete
there is nothing to gain from reading the story from some mentally stumpted third worlder
no child, these are your delusions speaking
>anon, books are obsolete
I try to explain this to people and they don't get it.
They don’t get it because your reduced vocabulary and linguistic shortcomings make it difficult for you to relay information to others.
I did.
>he didn’t read the hobbit as a kid
>he’ll never actually “get” middle earth
the hobbit isn't even canon, it doesn't count.
The average consumer is now too stupid to recognise pseudo-intellectuals. This is relatively new. Even idiots back in the day could tell when something was pretentious, even if they couldn't tell you why. Now it's a bunch of jelly brained young adults accepting literally anything people tell them so long as it's popular or has the apperance of being popular. Is it the pill? Is it pornography? Is it a lack of testosterone during puberty? Is it the capitalists again? Who knows. But it's happening.
it wasn't supposed to be a documentary!
600K views isn't all that hard, sloots whispering in microphones get those numbers.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is still better than 95% of what Hollywood shits out today all though that isn't a very high bar
some sketch comedy show did a skit about a budget theater where some guy just describes the movie.
2 hr 20 minute video essay what kind of loser watches this stuff?
I don't get the hate for the hobbit films. They were good. Pretty sure the hate is just a meme from the early 10s from the same people who posted about le bacon, zombie apocalypse, etc.
