I’m not even much of a sally fan, I just want to know what was going through sega’s heads to allow this character to keep existing if they never wanted to use her. She goes all the way back to the western sonic bible and would be used in almost every piece of sonic media in the 90s besides the games unless you count her as ricky, which she was according to the western bible. Some interpretations actually kept her close to this original ricky incarnation but most changed her to the point where she was unrecognizable and despite having several opportunities to stop having media with her included, they never did until she had already been around for over 20 years. She’s honestly really interesting to me on a meta level.

How did all of this happen and you decide to keep using her and the rest of the freedom fighters yet changing publishers while using the same writers to create the exact same type of comic is what made them finally stop using her.
