They’re dropping the ball for sure. I don’t think spider verse can save them, it just isn’t enough to counteract the little mermaid and the dumb element movie they are pinching out next week.. it’s over
Worse (for Disney). The new Spiderverse movie was produced by Sony, Columbia and Disney (Mervel), because of all of the characters in it. It's a very diluted profit pool. Also add in Pascal Pictures (Amy Pascal, she's the wienerroach who almost killed Sony who they can't get rid of), Lord Miller, the writers and producers, and Arad Productions, the Isreali guy who started Marvel Studios and sold it to Disney, but keeps his fingers in anything Marvel related.
Disney isn't make much of Spiderverse. Not enough to move any needles, anyway.
I think she has a fat blackmail folder, like Kennedy does. Pascal should have been fired and ostracized from town, but she came out of that whole fiasco with lucrative production deals.
I wonder how mad she is that the Barbie movie is setting up to be a hit, when she tried to make it with Amy Schumer.
Spiderverse is mostly Sony. They get a cut, but most of the money goes to Sony, and Universal is in the mix too.
They have a bleak couple of years coming, if not more. Star Wars is dead, and if Kennedy is allowed to make another Rey fiasco, then they'll just lose more millions. Indiana Jones is dead. Pixar is failing, Marvel is dead in the water, with no stars or characters left that anyone cares about.
The only thing that can "save them" is returning to good movies, fresh ideas, and talent. Even then, this kind of damage takes years to get the public back in the door.
Iger tripled down on woke. As long as he is in charge, and the board backing him, Disney will keep failing. They are not too big to fail.
The bigger picture is the parks. They keep Disney afloat. But they're doubling down on troony shit, so...who knows? They may have to start selling off assets, like the Fox library, that they haven't done shit with.
I got plenty of popcorn to watch it all burn down.
Last time disney got complacent in the late nineties, it took the better part of a decade for them to recover before they were reliably making hits again, even longer when you discount the studios they bought out in the interim.
Given there's no budding phenomena to buy out this time, and that they don't have the talent to ease back into good movies, I'm curious how they'll handle it.
It's fun to speculate but this honestly isn't the first time that Disney has been in a badnplace. The 60s up the 80s were bad for them as well until The Little Mermaid and the 2000s were a second dark age for them as well until Tangled and Frozen and the MCU took off. Disney has the money to weather rhe storm but they do need to correct course
I'm well aware of Disney's history. That's why I say they're not too big to fail - at least the movie division, which is only about 17-20% of their profits.
The parks pay for everything, but you might see Disneyworld starting to fail, because libs won't go to Florida "BeCaUsE iTs nOt SaFe fOr mY gEnDer"
The parks will have a problem if there is a recession, taking a family of 4 to one park for one day now is $600+ and that's not including parking, food, hotel, airfare, etc.
They just shut down that star wars hotel thing because it was too fricking expensive and nobody went to it.
>The parks pay for everything
You’d be surprised how big of a slice merchandising is. Star Wars the movie didn’t make George Lucas a billionaire. Star Wars merchandise made George Lucas a billionaire. The movies were a story, sure, but many of the decisions in their production were explicitly made based on what toys they could sell
Disney’s like that. Movies drive merch and park attractions, so if the movies are shit then people don’t go to the parks as much (money) or buy the merch (big money)
>The parks pay for everything
Is that why the cost of a trip to Disneyland has easily beat out the likes of a college degree and medical bills in terms of inflation?
>The bigger picture is the parks. They keep Disney afloat. But they're doubling down on troony shit, so...who knows?
I wish they'd sell the US parks to OLC
Taxes are paid on net income. A write off/down is accounting for a loss on income for some reason, which then overall decreases tax liability. Basically you pay less taxes because you made less income.
A scenario: you buy 100 tons of grain and are able to sell 80 tons with 10 tons spoiling and another 10 left unsold. You'd write off the 10 tons spoilage and subtract the cost paid for it from the profit you made on the 80 ton sale so your taxable income is the 80t sale minus 10t cost minus any other expenses. Your assets are the cash from selling 80t and the 10t of grain not spoiled. In a way the write off is another expense from doing business like paying labor or warehousing etc., just one that ideally is 0 since it's a waste. Some obvious things are that it would be better to sell all 100t of grain or have a profitable movie, and that the write off only helps with taxes particularly when there already is an income (no cash back from being in the red)
Just like in the sketch I am left wondering what the hell they write off and how
Problem is that it doesn't fricking work, you cannot be a commie Black person for a decade and when people have enough just put on cowboy hat and go 'Yieeeehaaaaw fellow nazis' while your purple hair still poke from underneath the hat.

> Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.
and getting dumber
boomers have an excuse in that they already filled up their brain with useless outdated systems and its hard to learn a new thing as you get older
zoomies? they dont know what a folder is, and that means gen x and millenials, the only ones who learned computers are going to have to maintain the entirety of the internets infrastructure for the foreseeable future
I have a home server I can't be bothered to keep up to date so really I'd rather just pay $30 a month or something and have access to the things I want to watch but you can't have that now. you need multiple services and they're constantly removing things so after probably 5 years of hardly pirating anything I'm going back to it. I gave them a fair chance to sell me a product and they fricked it.
The thing about Netflix is that even though they lose more money than they make their stocks are always soaring, so they can continue existing without much efforts on investor's money. Netflix are lucky enough to be the most popular streaming streaming platform and that's enough to keep investors confident and happy. Because in their mind they think that streaming is the future and if Netflix can't be profitable then no one else can, so they keep funneling money non-stop without a care in the world.
What's really crazy is Netflix has some genuine kinos thrown in amongst all the crap. They also have HUGE budget movies made by A-list directors and actors. But their curation absolutely sucks. You'd never know they were even there if you didn't see them the first week of release. Go watch the first 10 minutes of 6 underground. It's basically Michael Bay just burning fricking money on European car chases and crashing. Has to be the most expensive shit he's ever shot, all because Netflix was dumb enough to give him the money to do it. Do they promote this movie in any sort of way considering that massive investment. Nope, if you didn't watch it when it was front page however many months ago it dropped, you'll never see them mention it again. It's insane.
What's funny is that Netflix used to have a rating system where you can tell whether something they made was good or bad and easily sort it out. Then they removed it because of amy schumer and now nobody can tell what's good or bad so they just stop watching netflix altogether.
People don't watch Netflix because almost 75% of their stuff is woke or garbage, and because they basically have no licensed movies since companies would rather keep their content than help Netflix
Netflix is basically like Amazon was prior to the last couple years, where Amazon basically never made money, but investors didn't care because they kept growing market share and business areas and believed that they would one day become super profitable as a result.
They are also loosing money the slowest out of the streamers, so it's basically a giant game of chicken. What's gonna happen eventually is that there will be more mergers until there is like 3 streamers charging 25 bucks per month so that they can all be profitable and almost everyone will have all three. So basically cable, but on demand
The only money a company makes from stocks is when they make the initial sale. No matter how high a stock goes after that, Netflix gets 0 cash from that specifically.
The growth of streamng services is dwindeling down. There are just too many of them and while they try to batlle with original material, most of it is so bland and forgettable, that people aren't biting.
To this day, Netflix has never made profit. It has been around for so long now, that investors are starting to expect profit. Something has to give and I'd expect that something to be, that streaming services start licensing their stuff to traditional TV channles, as my of them are far more protable than the streaming revolution is.
Netflix could make a profit if they had decent quality of content. But any show they make of actually decent quality they often cancel after the first season because it didn't get enough initial buzz. There's legit just nothing worth watching on there at this point. I guess maybe the final season of stranger things when it comes out? But really what else does Netflix even have?
Not only that but apparently the most watched shows on israeliteflix and co are things like Seinfield, Friends, Sopranos etc.
israeliteflix got so big so fast cause it had all the classics available in one place.
ALL their new shit was just icing on top.
Netflix has been really good at making flavour-of-the-month content.
Stranger Things, The Queen's Gambit, The Dahmer show, Tiger King, Squid Game etc
These shows were all anyone could talk about for like a month or 2 after their release.
On the film front, they do the same thing with shit like The Gray Man, Extraction, Murder Mystery - films that aren't anything special but that everyone watches them because they're generic fun. And then they also have films like Roma, The Irishman, Blonde - their "acclaimed" oscar-b8 films to try and garner a reputation for making sophisticated films.
I honestly don't think they're given enough credit for the sheer volume of how much they produce.
I feel like all streaming platforms are taking a hit. Every one has an app now and forcing people to sign up for tons of streaming platforms. It's gotten expensive as frick just for people to watch a show or movie here and there.
Most new shows are dogshit so I don't even care enough to sub to any services. Streaming landscape is just like cable TV now, 99% of it is garbage I'll never watch.
>it is insane to see literally hundreds of shows 80% of which have 1 season.
Here's a list of shows that performed poorly in their first season that Netflix would have cancelled after two months: >Seinfeld >The Big Bang Theory >Breaking Bad >Mad Men >It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia >30 Rock >The Office >Parks and Rec >Succession
All of these shows are iconic and built up a fanbase slowly over time because the networks believed in them.
I looked into this a few months back.
Basically, every year netflix had been growing and taking on more and more debt to fuel that growth. A couple of years ago, they stopped borrowing and started actually reducing their debt. With this, their growth has slowed down dramatically.
Whether or not that counts as dying is debatable but you can't keep exponentially increasing your debt with no consequences
Netflix seriously is some shady money laundering operation or propaganda tool. that thing never made any profit even when they were the only one in the business, now with their being docents of other streaming services they are fricked.
I don't know but I was visiting my inlaws and looking through netflix which I haven't done in like 5 years and they have almost nothing other than their shitty in house productions that no sentient human being would want to watch. It is grim.
Dying? No. In bad shape? Yes. That's why they're cracking down on account sharing.
Their problem is the same as everyone else - they used to be the place every studio sold licenses for their shit, now it's all splintered on multiple platforms, so they lost the binge watchers for the big shows.
And, they had a surprise hit with Stranger Things, but have cancelled good shows for no reason, and keep making bad ones. Their original content isn't drivings subs.
Netflix is doing great. They also fired everyone and moved all their licensing to south korea, that would only go on strike if it was invaded by China. They are in a great position.
Man honestly I don't even fricking think about Netflix anymore. They've really fallen off since their stock price dropped in the past year haven't they?
The people at the top aren't faceless execs in suits.
They're woke gen xers and millennials that have twitter profiles that display their homosexualry.
Greed has nothing to do with it they're just trying to get back to all the bullies that lived rent free in their head since highschool
It is about greed you fricking baboon
Your boomer parents who fed you newsmax fox news schlop are dying and gays have disposable income. What is so hard to understand that a loud minority of evangelical hogs are a dying breed not worth marketing to.

Piracy was never mainstream; it was always the domain of weird incels that spend too much time online. Couple that with zoomers not even knowing what p2p is and it's over for piracy.
What are you doing were tourist
In the early 2000s everyone under 25 was using limewire or something similar to pirate
You have no idea what you're talking about
>In the early 2000s everyone under 25 was using limewire or something similar to pirate
I was using µTorrent back then since I was raised by a neckbeard. Most of the people I knew that used Limewire and later Frostwire mostly just used it to pirate music.
torrents sites are still a recent thing, before those you had to use p2p clients like emule and winmix, and even before that you had to download shit on IRC, the old ass internet chat system.
Also, internet speed was horseshit 20-30 years ago, most of the people was not even on DSL.
I still remember the dial up of my shit 56k modem.
Piracy was so pervasive that they were running more PSA ads against it than they were against weed or cigarettes, that "you wouldn't download a car" shit was in movie theaters lol, Disney had a bunch of their shows do episodes about how bad piracy was. It's crazy how bad zoomies are with technology relative to where we were at that age.
Yes it was. No one paid for music unless they had rich parents. Anime was just as easy to steal back then as now. And movies and tv were arguably easier to steal since there was less content I'd out there
>again
Piracy was never mainstream; it was always the domain of weird incels that spend too much time online. Couple that with zoomers not even knowing what p2p is and it's over for piracy.
why would you want torrenting to be mainstream? it'll only make the government take even more action.
Better question: how the hell isn't Spotify suffering similar fate as Netflix? Are the music industry israelites actually saner than their movie counterparts?
Has Spotify ever done woke shit? Last I heard anything they got shit about Joe Rogan but then it just went away. They don't seem to care either way. I guess they just have one job: let people listen to music and podcasts.
>write off
That means money lost btw, even at the brink of getting bailed out or bought off Disney still managed to get shills sugarcoating their flops it's impressive really
Yeah you lost money, big time. The fact that they’re taking the write off means their finance and accounting team are still on the ball at the very least so they can feasibly stay afloat for several more years at this rate, regardless of losses.
corporate tax policy is nuts. Imagine if every year you went to the government and handed them a list of all the necessities you paid for this year and subtracted that from your income BEFORE they even saw what you made.
Absolutely nuts.
That was in 2022, it's already the case. The writers are also majority women and non-whites. We will never see a Disney film with a majority white cast again.
Wonder how long she keeps the job the way she keeps destroying the brand. Always funny how all these execs destroying billion dollar companies are women. Bud Light and Target didn't learn
Budweiser actually learned pretty quick. They had a traditional Clydesdale horse commercial airing the same week as the troony problem started. Now have Harley Davidson cans on sale and these fratty out of touch chuds on TV https://youtu.be/Yvuj-OBQCP4 (still have to slip in some race mixing of course).

Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.
Funny thing is that it's true. Lots of people stopped buying BL because other people were calling them homosexuals or asking them if they knew what that beer they bought represents.

Ok and now in their attempt to appeal to less than 1% of the population they've lost their primary consumers in the process. Good Job. Oh and it gets worse too because now people are avoiding ALL INBev products, not just Bud Light. The amount of sales they're losing increases every week and when the quarter ends their stock is going to plummet. They've already been warned by stores like Walmart that they need to fix their shit or they'll lose shelf space.

They only ever had three demos: college kids buying because it's cheap, bar patrons buying because it's all they've ever known, and people at sports or concerts buying because it's what's there. Now they have to hope people being held captive at live events will pay $15 for their swill when all venues have much better beers for maybe $18 instead. Anyone who has tried any other beer in the last month won't be coming back no matter how many 99% off sales Walmart runs because above all else it just doesn't taste good enough.

Bud Light was far and away the top beer brand in the US. Their marketing exec literally could have done nothing and be successful. She destroyed a brand over 100 years old in a single night

That's pretty much what they had been doing. They made one commercial a year for the Super Bowl for boomers who like the Clydesdales. All she needed to do was find smaller horses and say something like they're the light horse for light beer. But she wasn't there to make money.

>One commercial a year
lol no but you're a zoomer that doesn't watch tv so you wouldn't know. During the NFL season Bud Light shifts marketing into overdrive, it's not just the Super Bowl alone. They also advertise during just about every sport game and many stadiums exclusively sale only bud light. That's how much that dumb c**t fricked up a guaranteed thing.

I guess I'm conflating the two brands but that was more about Budweiser having to try and save itself now that Bud Light is cancer. If she wanted a new demographic for Bud Light she could have gotten the horse girls easily without offending anyone.

idgaf about the bud light shit. If embev wanted to make BL the gayest beer on the planet then whatever because it's an item for adults. If some homosexual wants to be a degenerate and drink degenerate beer then that's their choice. You have to be over 21 to buy it. Now the Target stuff that aims directly at kids? THAT is a whole other issue. I get the shit storm about Bud Light but the stunt they pulled pales in comparison to Target.

Bud Light already had a reputation for being "piss water," so the convenience of not buying it is there and helped facilitate the boycott. If it was something more deeply ingrained and less stigmatized like Pepsi or Coca-Cola then it's probably a different story.

Notice that this homosexual didn't say he was wrong though.
Because children are being targeted and homosexuals keep saying "but it doesn't affect you", that's why I as a parent care. I've gone from apathetic to extremely upset about this gay shit in the last few years, and I'm very open about it nowadays.

Sonic has an interracial couple and a gay stooge. Nome of these characters were in any Sonic media prior.
Demon Slayer also has women who are 10x stronger than they should be. But it was created by a Japanese woman who was hired on merit.

It's fricking anime, the characters have literal superpowers. Freakishly strong women in anime has been a thing since forever.
You don't remember the Peloton woman? It was always a stupid controversy but it was a big deal with the extremely online crowd that she looked like a Stockholm syndrome victim riding that bike. Within a week Ryan Reynolds found her and filmed a commercial with her out at a bar "getting out of a bad relationship" for his gin brand. That was way harder than editing some stock footage of a horse running through a field with a voice over.

Woman rides cult bike in commercial. Looks weird. Twitter melts down. Woman plays same character in a gin commercial the following week.

Oh the reason it was a "big deal" was the bike was a Christmas gift from her husband in the ad so fat sjws were offended that a woman was told to lose weight.

That was part of it, but as the other anon said, some of them were jokes about how the women look like she's a hostage.
Holy shit props to PR. You can tell they made this start to finish inside of a week and it perfectly nails their demographics “basic country b***hes, Hispanics, and 20-something’s at summer concerts)

It's not. As long as israelites exist, so will ESG.
They're actually lower than that now and they're in real danger because they got fricked on memorial day and summer is coming soon along with July 4th which are when beer sales are at their highest.
Women are generally appointed to these positions when the board knows that company will fail soon and want a woman to take a fall. There was study done on this.
i think it's just that she's someone's wife and/or daughter and she was given a cushy job on nepotism. usually people of this type find someone else to blame for their own failures and they keep getting promoted to the top.
i guess a guy can benefit from nepotism as well, but women also have feminism and women-dominated HR departments, simp husbands/boyfriends on their side
it's pretty obvious that marketing lady from the beer company lives in her own world
>i think it's just that she's someone's wife and/or daughter and she was given a cushy job on nepotism. usually people of this type find someone else to blame for their own failures and they keep getting promoted to the top. >i guess a guy can benefit from nepotism as well, but women also have feminism and women-dominated HR departments, simp husbands/boyfriends on their side >it's pretty obvious that marketing lady from the beer company lives in her own world
I encourage them to put more of this roasties in high positions so that we can start boycotting these companies one by one.
I was just reading how a woman destroyed TSR and led to them getting acquired by WotC, who then turned around and got brought out by Hasbro, leading to D&D getting worse and worse for two decades. Some things never change.
Not that I don't enjoy reddit's demise but also remember they brought in that Ellen Pao woman to push through the unpopular changes they wanted to make and then "got fired" a month later without rolling anything meaningful back.
Royalties. A normal agreement for something like a cable network would pay residuals to the creators based on ratings which are verified by groups like Nielsen. The equivalent for streaming is views but because those numbers and how they’re calculated are for some reason stored in a vault so secure you’d need the guy from Mission Impossible to steal them they base payment on total subscribers instead. This could be easily renegotiated if anyone just said how popular their shit actually is, but I’m starting to suspect they don’t because there’s enormous fraud involved on every single level
A low budget, fluffy, feel good series wouldn't be a bad call. It would be the perfect thing to prey on nostalgia while also having social media bait laced in.
Of course in all likelihood, it was an IP slapped on a script of some nepotism hire, who had seriously pissed off a superior to the point of having such a horrible fit assigned to it.
I just don't think there's that much nostalgia for Willow in the first place, it's an old movie with a smallish cult following that's generally considered mediocre by everyone else. Even if the series was good it might not have gained much traction.
The only thing notable I remember is Willow, because it's shit, and Turner and Hooch for some reason. Everything else was literal "Who?" levels of shows.
It means they lost a frick ton of money and are now handing the government a little piece o paper that says “charge me less, I fricked up and I’ll go broke if you don’t ignore this amount of our profit”
Within this context of hollywood, it means Disney gave up rights to whatever they removed as they don't want to be liable for it anymore. No profit either. Govt will give them a bit of tax break depending on reported cost.
Similar to WB writing off Batgirl after it was finished or cartoon network writing off symbionic titan and Megas xlr
Always just proves that the woke audience is small
They only have enough sway to make -one- show or series semi popular like a bunch of 20-30+ year old full grown men watching owl house because it's portrays underaged lesbians
i honestly dont get it why mouse remove their products when the main objective for streaming service were making so much contents as possible just see netflix theu literally churning out movies, series nobody want to watch
Because for every show / movie they keep on their platforms they need to pay royalties to all of the cast & crew. If nobody is watching the show then it's pointless to keep paying.
>streaming is the future now we only pay 19 bucks a month for millions of shows >shows get taken off the site never to be seen again legally because they were used as a tax write off
how is that good?
Serves them right for baiting and switching their audience with their shitty shows, making straight white men stupid, putting homosexuals in everything, attacking anyone who dares criticize the shit they crap out, and not giving audiences what they actually want to see!
Frick Disney, and double frick the idiot stans on Twitter, TikTok, and other social media who defend this shit and refuse to call it out!
Disney has a lot of good back catalog content that they have never released on Blu-ray or even DVD. Nobody gives a frick about streaming unless they are a zoomer that doesn't own any DVDs.
I've never seen it. But I'm talking about the first couple seasons of Mandalorian, Season 7 of Clone Wars, very few of their Touchstone Pictures movies have gotten a 4K restoration, very few of their Searchlight movies...

piracy is the most based thing for the internet; sure it can frick over revenue, but most of these companies are so evil and moronic that they don't even preserve the creations they desperately want to milk to death, for most tv shows and films, the only way to keep them forever and to ensure they aren't removed/edited is to pirate the original releases
>In its content purge last week, the media company pulled off more than 50 titles from Disney+ and Hulu, including series “Willow,” “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and “Dollface,” and movies such as “The One and Only Ivan.” >On Disney’s earnings call, CEO Bob Iger said he was “confident that we’re on the right path for streaming’s long-term profitability” and that as part of that the company would be “rationalizing the volume of the content we make and what we’re spending.” He also said the company expects to raise the price of Disney+ without ads later this year “to better reflect the value of our content offerings.”
So they are removing a bunch of content from their streaming services and then trying to write off $1.5 billion in value and then they are going to charge people who use their streaming platform more for less content?
Wokey brokey. They'll have to beg Blackrock for more handouts but this is an issue that can't be solved by money because it's a loss of legitimacy and a fall into irrelevance
Read the article... turns out their rights to cricket matches expired and around 4million pajeets didnt' renew their subscription. Nothing to do with woke.
>make steaming-only shows >no physical media >if Disney+ deletes them, they're gone forever >this is the basis for claiming the tax write-off (as the intellectual property has no value of it can't be accessed) >but copyright remains and Disney can sue anyone who pirates the deleted-for-tax-writeoff content
It doesn't, they're going to pay less taxes because they're crashing and burning and you need to make money to pay taxes. This is just financial cope to make it look like it was all part of their keikaku
>all of a sudden companies start producing countless ridiculously expensive woke movies and shows that all flop terribly >"let's just call that a tax write-off"
I specifically remember there being a movie about this exact plot...
People start to remember we had torrents, free streams, and sites with free eps and stuff for dozens, and dozens of years.
My dad told me he pays like 150$ a month in tv.
I pay 0$.
And i watch all the shows, and tv i want all day everyday.

Or just go to google and type

and look at some links, see what works.
As long as you use multi adblock, popup block and stuff.
Youtube changed it's adblock a while ago, i checked all my adblock, only like 1 out of like 5 of my adblock was affected by change.
Only idiots use just one.
I don't get how they're so out of touch with the easiest audience to sell to.
The trailer for Elemental before SpiderVerse was just one scene of the fire girl in a skirt the camera zoomed up on getting onto a bus before she has a meet cute with the water dude. It felt more like a trailer for an adult romcom animation than a family flick.
Doesn't matter. The new normal is that corporations can lose billions year after year and never face any consequences, in what I'm told is supposed to be capitalist economy.
>israelite hand friction intensifies
>noooo you can’t make money using legal frameworks gibsmedat
>t. subhuman parasite
They’re dropping the ball for sure. I don’t think spider verse can save them, it just isn’t enough to counteract the little mermaid and the dumb element movie they are pinching out next week.. it’s over
>Spider-verse
That's a Sony film. Sony gets most of the money and any spiderman movie on Disney+ Sony gets a cut
Ah, so it’s even more over for Disney. Excellent.
Pascal is a member of tribe. Only way Sony can be rid of her without backlash is if she dies
Dont forget Indiana Jones. If that flops then its JOEVER because they sunk a lot of production money into it like its DIsney version of Avatar
Even if they make $2 billion from Little Mermaid and Indiana Jones they've still lost at least $6 billion this year from D+ and their parks.
Both movies combined are unlikely to make even $1 billion
>JOEVER
Go back
chud bros.... not like this...
How much is the mouse paying you?
>still more than half
ohhhhhh no no no no no no no
>all audience instead of verified
cringe
all movies are judged by the default settings don't move the goal post
Imagine paying 600$+ for this.
I wish they'd sell the US parks to OLC
you don't even know what a write off is
But they do, and they're the ones writing it off.
Not him
I agree with you.
The only people that talk about write offs are people the have never paid taxes.
lurk for longer before posting, stupid redditor
Whats redditor?
Not him but I genuinely don't know. Would you mind explaining it? I googled but I don't really get it
Taxes are paid on net income.
Thanks, kind anon.
Just like in the sketch I am left wondering what the hell they write off and how
> Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.

Isn't Netflix dying too?
Maybe not DYING dying, but you know.. it's past its peak in popularity, that sort of thing
Number won't go up forever, especially when it's built on digital nothing like streaming services
Yeah.
I still think it's insane how the average person is literally too dumb to pirate, though
and getting dumber
boomers have an excuse in that they already filled up their brain with useless outdated systems and its hard to learn a new thing as you get older
zoomies? they dont know what a folder is, and that means gen x and millenials, the only ones who learned computers are going to have to maintain the entirety of the internets infrastructure for the foreseeable future
Netflix has never operated in the black, they've yet to make profit since the service launched.
good goy
Netflix has been profitable since 2003, moron. Try to keep up.
Teen smoking is back baby
>so they keep funneling money non-stop without a care in the world.
The stock is lower than 3 years ago
Difference is that Amazon kept growing while Netflix is shrinking.
They are also loosing money the slowest out of the streamers, so it's basically a giant game of chicken. What's gonna happen eventually is that there will be more mergers until there is like 3 streamers charging 25 bucks per month so that they can all be profitable and almost everyone will have all three. So basically cable, but on demand
>loosing
>Netflix are lucky enough to be the most popular streaming streaming platform
Doubt it's even top 3
I honestly don't think they're given enough credit for the sheer volume of how much they produce.
one can only hope. Their forced diversity quotas are not only disgusting but the people they hire are complete talentless scumbag pieces of shit.
capitalism is built to fail

literally zero defense happening in those posts, you're either moronic or dishonest
Netflix is a fad. Gamefly is the future.
I remember Gamefly, it took forever to get games in the mail.
I got a semi-crappy pirated stream site and it is insane to see literally hundreds of shows 80% of which have 1 season.
>it is insane to see literally hundreds of shows 80% of which have 1 season.
Here's a list of shows that performed poorly in their first season that Netflix would have cancelled after two months:
>Seinfeld
>The Big Bang Theory
>Breaking Bad
>Mad Men
>It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
>30 Rock
>The Office
>Parks and Rec
>Succession
All of these shows are iconic and built up a fanbase slowly over time because the networks believed in them.
Why not just pay the copyright to some big porns. like GloryholeSwallow BLACKED TUSHI etc. Cooomers will eat that shit up. your welcome netflix
Dumb esl poster
misquote?
Netflix is doing great. They also fired everyone and moved all their licensing to south korea, that would only go on strike if it was invaded by China. They are in a great position.
Man honestly I don't even fricking think about Netflix anymore. They've really fallen off since their stock price dropped in the past year haven't they?
>want to watch demon slayer
>Netflix is 1 season behind Crunchroll and pirate sites
Just use 9anime.
Tubi is literally free and has a better selection than goyflix, prime, peawiener and disney all put together. You just have to watch a few ads.
Torrenting is literally free and has no moronic ads
>every streaming service has managed to make piracy mainstream again in just a few years
How can they be completely tone deaf?
greed, simple as.
What is so hard to understand that a loud minority of evangelical hogs are a dying breed not worth marketing to.
>again
Piracy was never mainstream; it was always the domain of weird incels that spend too much time online. Couple that with zoomers not even knowing what p2p is and it's over for piracy.
What are you doing were tourist
In the early 2000s everyone under 25 was using limewire or something similar to pirate
You have no idea what you're talking about
he's a zoomer
I remember sharing the LimeWire to LimeWire Pro pipeline trick on the school bus. Fun times.
Piracy was always frickhuge.
Man, i miss talking with the buddies on MSN.
In the early 2000s, I was using kazaa. There was some messed up shit on rhere, let me tell you.
You are big dumb
Way to out yourself as a cum guzzling homosexual.
zoomzoom
Yes it was. No one paid for music unless they had rich parents. Anime was just as easy to steal back then as now. And movies and tv were arguably easier to steal since there was less content I'd out there
why would you want torrenting to be mainstream? it'll only make the government take even more action.
Spotify has MAGA rappers on their platform. They don't give a shit.
Good.
Funnily enough, a rap song called boycott target is at the top of the list
wokesisters, it's joever
Why won't Disney pay their fair share. Why do they hate the poor.
>write off
That means money lost btw, even at the brink of getting bailed out or bought off Disney still managed to get shills sugarcoating their flops it's impressive really
moron anon thinks the OP is a disney shill
The guy who wrote the article is, no doubt about it.
A write down of an impaired asset or investment is absolutely not a cash item on the financial statements
Absolutely nuts.
>stay afloat for several more years at this rate
Aren't Yidney in the process of buying Hulu from Comcast?
Disney is pulling out all content that lack diversity.
>pic
kek I want them to do that just to see what a shitstorm it would kick up
That was in 2022, it's already the case.
Problem is that it doesn't fricking work, you cannot be a commie Black person for a decade and when people have enough just put on cowboy hat and go 'Yieeeehaaaaw fellow nazis' while your purple hair still poke from underneath the hat.
Budlight is now forever branded as the gay beer. That isn't going away.
Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.
I agree it's a dead brand they have to retire now but they know they fricked up and knew it almost immediately.
>Budlight is now forever branded as the gay beer.
Weird thay both these guys are dead now
You made me check
Well if they were gays is not that weird
>Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.
Top kek. Hilarious if true.
at Fenway Park people wouldn't even get in line at the Bud Light stands because everyone would start heckling them
Saint Louis fricking shits
>Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.
lmao
Funny thing is that it's true. Lots of people stopped buying BL because other people were calling them homosexuals or asking them if they knew what that beer they bought represents.
BL also stands for boy love
>Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.
lmfao do amerimutts really
>Plenty of bars pulled it because guests kept causing fights over BL, calling each other gay.

because they mailed out like 1000 promotional cans and one of them went to a trans person? you think youre serious people?
>they mailed out like 1000 promotional cans and one of them went to a groomer?
One groomer too many, and corporations backing these commie fricks will have to learn that.
>groomer
>commie
holy brain rot
Democrats these days are both.
Maybe don't make corporate decisions based on hot button issues that go against your target demo? How hard is that to understand?
corporations always want to expand their audience, you'll never find a real company that doesn't want to sell to as many people as possible. also, how are trans people against anyone? you go out of your way to chase them, its not like they are showing up at your BBQs
Cool, can't wait for corporations expand their demo and market to unironic neo nazis any time now
>also, how are trans people against anyone? you go out of your way to chase them
Same reason you chose to comment in this thread. You went out of your way to make a reply in it. Why don't you follow your own advice and ignore everything you come across that you don't like.
i dont think anyone in this thread is against me though, im just pointing out how stupid you are for being manipulated this easily
And we are pointing out how stupid a company is for making such a marketing blunder. Stop with the neutral act.
Manipulated by George Soros?
>im just pointing out how stupid you are for being manipulated this easily
>Manipulated by choosing NOT to buy a product.
You're the one shilling a homosexual beer here for free, so who is the one being manipulated?
Sir,your thumbnail looked like the Tourettes guy.
Here is s bonus (you)
>corporations always want to expand their audience, you'll never find a real company that doesn't want to sell to as many people as possible.
Where are my 'Frick Black folk' Converses then? Apparently we live in white supremacist system so making swastika themed lines would net insane profits, wouldn't you agree, comrade?
If she wanted a new demographic for Bud Light she could have gotten the horse girls easily without offending anyone.
>she
Her boss got fired too, you're making it look like she was the only one to blame.
Essentially off-topic but it reminded me that Yidney fired a bunch of dudes from Pixar including a woman exec that has been there since Toy Story 1.
Literally all bets are off this time around. The age of relentlessly shitting on customers without recourse is over.
Because the ad campaign was her idea specifically. Her boss was punished because he approved it like a moron. In situations like this, the boss as well as the underling are punished
All light beers are the same only marketing differentiates them, bud's biggest blunder was giving people a reason to switch.
idgaf about the bud light shit.
When the trannies started trying to get children to transition, all bets were off. It's one thing to be mentally ill by yourself but when you try to drag children into it, that's when things get violent.
>corporations always want to expand their audience
But never at the expense of their already established audience. You don't stop making chili meals in a successful chili restaurant, just because some dumbass said he didn't like chili.
the operative functional assumption is the content is shit, and people love it, so they can make whatever, and the original audience will be happy with it.
this is obviously just something they claim for the sake of investors, they clearly don't want viewership at this point.
>corporations always want to expand their audience
Then why did they do something that did the literal opposite?
>how are trans people against anyone?
They're against anybody normal, healthy insane.
>expand their audience
>proceeds to spit in your established audience
why is promoting a trans creator anyway related to the nontrans audience? its not like they put her on all the cans, it was a special promo sent to just her. it had nothing to do with you
>it had nothing to do with you
A lot of people agreed. It just turns out that people aren't much interested in a product that has nothing to do with them
or extremely interested and still making threads about it
Mulvaney isn't even a real troony. He saw trans shit was a guarantied visibility boost, so he started pretending to be trans. He couldn't get work as a man. His TikTok videos had almost no viewership. But then he "comes out as a transwoman" and his phone starts ringing off the hook with sponsorships.
How long until that kind of shit is viewed by women in the same way as old blackface minstrel shows? It's genuinely offensive.
>her
get the frick outta here
>try to appeal to the 0.001 of the population putting at risk the 95% of your core base
seems logical
>its not like they are showing up at your BBQs
No, they show up at schools to tell kids it's ok to mutilate their genitals, and get pumped with hormones.
They're not showing up in bbqs probably they banned them LMAO
>they mailed out like 1000 promotional cans and one of them went to a trans person
don't comment on things you've only heard in passing
What's that thing the rabbi is always saying? If you send out 1000 cans and one of them goes out to a troon you sent out 1000 cans to troons, i don't remember it exactly because he stopped saying it when it was time to support Ukraine.
do you feel embarrassed that right wing think tanks are just recycling 1980s gay panic talking points but applying to trans people and you're falling for it again? i mean in the 80s at least you had AIDs to fuel it, now its just "ahh im scared trans people will make me gay"
>kids and dogs contracting monkey pox somehow
>states legalize kindergarten teachers transitioning children without parental consent
>men in dresses advising teenage girls to get their breasts cut off
>gender cult bullshit being adopted as state religion
Yeah, just imaginary.
Groomer detected.
Literally everything they warned about when it comes to gays came true, or proved to be even worse than they imagined.
We now have literal men in dresses telling confused teenage girls that they should chop their own breasts off.
Eat shit out of my ass, you gaslighting freak. I'd literally back my car over your head if I could get away with it and nobody would witness it.
I still remember them claiming 10 years ago that slippery slope was a fallacy and they weren't targeting children. Here we are now and the slippery slope was proven to be real.
Samegay
Notice that this homosexual didn't say he was wrong though.
Because children are being targeted and homosexuals keep saying "but it doesn't affect you", that's why I as a parent care. I've gone from apathetic to extremely upset about this gay shit in the last few years, and I'm very open about it nowadays.
The compelling thing for me is that a lot of people, even old school democrats, agree with me and share that sentiment. The Nashville shooting was a big wake up call to how dangerous and insidious this social contagion is.
>I as a parent
Weird lie
Just because you castrated yourself doesn't mean sane people can't reproduce.
wtf I like troons grooming kids now
And they were literally right? Lmfao. Look at the world now. We should’ve fricking listened
They were right. AIDS should have been left to run its course.
The fact that we don't know if aids affectes gay men disproportionately because anal sex is inherently more transmissable or because they have far more sexual partners than anyone else tells me they were onto something
Those points about homosexuals were valid then, and they’re valid now.
All you gays had to do was to do what you said you would do, keep your shit to yourselves. But no, you had to spread your disease(s) to children and dogs. You just can't help yourselves.
youre crying about corporations trying to sell things to gay people, it never had anything to do with you. you went out of your way to involve yourself with other people living in a free country

Sonic has an interracial couple and a gay stooge. Nome of these characters were in any Sonic media prior.
Demon Slayer also has women who are 10x stronger than they should be. But it was created by a Japanese woman who was hired on merit.
>and a gay stooge
Agent Stone is liked though.
and not gay
>Demon Slayer also has women who are 10x stronger than they should be.
It's fricking anime, the characters have literal superpowers. Freakishly strong women in anime has been a thing since forever.

>same week
Then they didn't learn a thing. That commercial was already planned. You can't get a commercial to market in a week lmao.
Sure you can.
huh?
You don't remember the Peloton woman? It was always a stupid controversy but it was a big deal with the extremely online crowd that she looked like a Stockholm syndrome victim riding that bike. Within a week Ryan Reynolds found her and filmed a commercial with her out at a bar "getting out of a bad relationship" for his gin brand. That was way harder than editing some stock footage of a horse running through a field with a voice over.
right ok, so thats where that img comes from
It was the last funny thing to happen before coof.
>three and a half years ago
Woman rides cult bike in commercial. Looks weird. Twitter melts down. Woman plays same character in a gin commercial the following week.
It's truly amazing all the meaningless rabble you miss out on by simply not using Twitter.
Not sure if it's good containment for hoopleheads or should be destroyed for making more hoopleheads.
what was this about again?
Oh the reason it was a "big deal" was the bike was a Christmas gift from her husband in the ad so fat sjws were offended that a woman was told to lose weight.
Hahaha, christ. I hate fat people
That was part of it, but as the other anon said, some of them were jokes about how the women look like she's a hostage.
Yeah but you can slap a voice-over on canned footage and have it everywhere over a weekend.
>still have to slip in some race mixing of course

Bud Light still hasn't apologized and their memorial day market was fricked, and is still fricked.
They won't apologize because it would frick their ESG score which already just took a hit. They're proverbially fricked and in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation
ESG’s on its way out because it relies on zirp that quite simply doesn’t exist anymore. You’d know this if you paid attention to anything other than the most braindead idiots on the site
this
see big corp logos this month, diversity shit is over the trannies have fallen
>ESG’s on its way out
It's not. As long as israelites exist, so will ESG.
Nazi's been Disney butthurt for a looong time.
lol, that shit just made things worse
AB sales are down 25% this quarter.

Anon, don't be a misogynist. All the experts agreed.
I was just reading how a woman destroyed TSR and led to them getting acquired by WotC, who then turned around and got brought out by Hasbro, leading to D&D getting worse and worse for two decades. Some things never change.
she's there only to do that anon
Not that I don't enjoy reddit's demise but also remember they brought in that Ellen Pao woman to push through the unpopular changes they wanted to make and then "got fired" a month later without rolling anything meaningful back.
The OG one was Hugh Hefner's daughter wrecking Playboy.
the internet and boomers dying destroyed playboy
Complacency is one hell of a drug.
Why is it always a white b***h
Anyone have a list of what is being pulled from Disney+?
I'd say Willow is their biggest one. Disney+ original and they are pulling it under a year later.
Why are they removing content they own? I don’t understand the reasoning. What’s the drawback on keeping it available?
Who even thought it was a good idea to make a sequel to fricking Willow in the first place?
Some gay or woman who never even read the tl;dr and tried to bank on name recognition
I wonder how long after release it will be before they pull Echo? That's probably the main reason they're dumping it all in one go
The only thing notable I remember is Willow, because it's shit, and Turner and Hooch for some reason. Everything else was literal "Who?" levels of shows.
Disney apparently severe ties with Seinfeld over racism
>making things up on the internet
I thought better of u
It's only a matter of time, she pulled the fatigue face in front of America's sacred cow.
I unironically don't get what he means
i dont understand taxes, what the frick does that mean
Write off becomes an expense which lowers profit and therefore taxable amount. So this move just saved them $600 million in tax
How can they turn content into an expense? Makes no sense.
They only have enough sway to make -one- show or series semi popular like a bunch of 20-30+ year old full grown men watching owl house because it's portrays underaged lesbians
i honestly dont get it why mouse remove their products when the main objective for streaming service were making so much contents as possible just see netflix theu literally churning out movies, series nobody want to watch
>spend 1billion
>cook it up to 2 billion
>write off 1.5 billion
what dont you get?
Because for every show / movie they keep on their platforms they need to pay royalties to all of the cast & crew. If nobody is watching the show then it's pointless to keep paying.
>streaming is the future now we only pay 19 bucks a month for millions of shows
>shows get taken off the site never to be seen again legally because they were used as a tax write off
how is that good?
Disney xisters… i dont feel so good. The chuds are winning
But the rest of the market has gone down too ACKKKKK
Yet, they're still pushing on with wheeling out dogshit Star Wars films
Serves them right for baiting and switching their audience with their shitty shows, making straight white men stupid, putting homosexuals in everything, attacking anyone who dares criticize the shit they crap out, and not giving audiences what they actually want to see!
Frick Disney, and double frick the idiot stans on Twitter, TikTok, and other social media who defend this shit and refuse to call it out!
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and The Super Mario Bros. Movie are handing Disney's ass to them!
Disney has a lot of good back catalog content that they have never released on Blu-ray or even DVD. Nobody gives a frick about streaming unless they are a zoomer that doesn't own any DVDs.
Song of the South 4K UHD release when??
I've never seen it. But I'm talking about the first couple seasons of Mandalorian, Season 7 of Clone Wars, very few of their Touchstone Pictures movies have gotten a 4K restoration, very few of their Searchlight movies...
https://entertainment.inquirer.net/502687/walt-disneys-pixar-targets-lightyear-execs-among-75-job-cuts
People who greenlit Buzzlight got fired.
The execs who greenlit elemental and made Ariel black are panicking as we speak.
He won
Disney doesn't have loads that I watch. They can think twice before removing a lot of I'll cancel and just buy the 10 movies my daughter likes on ebay
It speaketh
FRICK DISNEY
How does that even work?
piracy is the most based thing for the internet; sure it can frick over revenue, but most of these companies are so evil and moronic that they don't even preserve the creations they desperately want to milk to death, for most tv shows and films, the only way to keep them forever and to ensure they aren't removed/edited is to pirate the original releases
>In its content purge last week, the media company pulled off more than 50 titles from Disney+ and Hulu, including series “Willow,” “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and “Dollface,” and movies such as “The One and Only Ivan.”
>On Disney’s earnings call, CEO Bob Iger said he was “confident that we’re on the right path for streaming’s long-term profitability” and that as part of that the company would be “rationalizing the volume of the content we make and what we’re spending.” He also said the company expects to raise the price of Disney+ without ads later this year “to better reflect the value of our content offerings.”
So they are removing a bunch of content from their streaming services and then trying to write off $1.5 billion in value and then they are going to charge people who use their streaming platform more for less content?
Literally flawless
>wait, what do you mean the infinite growth model isn't realistic?
Wokey brokey. They'll have to beg Blackrock for more handouts but this is an issue that can't be solved by money because it's a loss of legitimacy and a fall into irrelevance
Read the article... turns out their rights to cricket matches expired and around 4million pajeets didnt' renew their subscription. Nothing to do with woke.
The fate of the world and all propaganda... In India's hands.. We shouldn't have made fun of the superpower thing
>make steaming-only shows
>no physical media
>if Disney+ deletes them, they're gone forever
>this is the basis for claiming the tax write-off (as the intellectual property has no value of it can't be accessed)
>but copyright remains and Disney can sue anyone who pirates the deleted-for-tax-writeoff content
How does this work?
I hope Disney crashes and burns. Walt would be beside himself if he saw what it turned into.
>If you remove these mobies from your service, we'll let you pay less tax
How does this even work/make sense?
They just write it off on their taxes. This is how corporations essentially pay zero.
It doesn't, they're going to pay less taxes because they're crashing and burning and you need to make money to pay taxes. This is just financial cope to make it look like it was all part of their keikaku
if they take the shows off the platform they don't have to pay the ppl in the show residuals
>all of a sudden companies start producing countless ridiculously expensive woke movies and shows that all flop terribly
>"let's just call that a tax write-off"
I specifically remember there being a movie about this exact plot...
It is amazing that something is so bad that the fact of keeping it on your hard drive makes you lose money. That's why I wanted to watch batwoman.
Netflix is the Ray's Occult of streaming services
old xmen cartoons are the only thing worth watching on this shit

I don't get how they're so out of touch with the easiest audience to sell to.
The trailer for Elemental before SpiderVerse was just one scene of the fire girl in a skirt the camera zoomed up on getting onto a bus before she has a meet cute with the water dude. It felt more like a trailer for an adult romcom animation than a family flick.
What kid or parent would want to go see that?
all of those services barely have any content, they will all crash and burn soon as people don't want to subscribe to 10 services
imagine being able to just write off 1.5 billion dollars like its nothing. america is a failed state
>1.5 billion dollar write off
Gee, I wonder how Disney lost more than a billion dollars this year
Doesn't matter. The new normal is that corporations can lose billions year after year and never face any consequences, in what I'm told is supposed to be capitalist economy.
Zaslav was right
