If she has a tail, she gets nailed.
We never should've doubted.
she's the bad guy of course the fans don't cheer for her what a dumb image
I don't think Disney's that happy about the little mermaid s box office
Cope
>Oh look this shitty movie is less shitty than the other shitty movie.
They're both going to bomb tremendously.
Patriarchy wins again.
Mario is even above
Where the frick is Clod?
Dead on the side of a river
what? transformers is flopping
GO WOKE, BREAK BANK!
They easily could have beaten the niggle mermaid with the general concept but they fricked it so spectacularly in ways I never would have thought of
I'll apologize as soon as Halle fricks me
>70m
Fricking christ, I never want to hear "2D more expensive" ever again.
Pretty sure this was outsourced ala Spiderverse too. Not even lowballing can get these flick under a 50m budget. There is no reason why this shit should cost 70 million.
Everyone needs to relax with their budgets. This is getting embarrassing.
We should go further!
want to fund my 3d animated kids movie about a sexy sentient moth? I'm looking for 200m.
You'll have to ask Illumination. Everyone else might be bankrupt by the end of the year.
>sexy moth
>illumination
I see what you did there….
Yeah. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Nursing Home cost 300m and is looking to make less than the goddamn Flash.
Fast X WOULD have been a success had they not spent 340m.
Elemental spent 200m.
2D was never more expensive on a purely logistical scale. However three main caveats.
>2D animation as a skillset in the West is literally dying out
>If Mr. Producer barges into the studio and demands a full rewrite, it's more costly to delete and redo scenes in 3D than 2D because the former has an upfront cost that's already been eaten.
>Modern audiences view 2D as archaic
>modern audiences view 2D as archaic
>most tv shows are still 2D and the majority of fan content of 3D movies is 2D too.
The average viewer doesn't give an iota of a frick about fan content.
TV Shows are typically shorter term investment than movies, not to mention the animation quality + budget for them has notably declined over the turn of the century. Fan content is not typically produced by the majority of modern audiences.
*more cost-effective
Any good macro scenes in this? Only reason I would want to see it.
Clips will be on youtube in a few weeks. Just watch those instead
>Black person mermaid
>flop
>dyke mermaid
>flop
People have spoken and they're tired of shit they supported on facebook in 2008 when obama was running being turned into bad movies. When you think about it, oamab was only elected because people thought he'd bring the hope and change of the 1990s back but insteadhe turned everything gay.
>dyke mermaid
Anon, the #1 problem with the movie is that it didn't go gay at all. That would've been better. Dreamworks was too busy trying to pull a Diet Shrek with having an EVIL version of a Disney heroine to bother making a good story.
Actually, people assumed it's a gay movie. They don't know there's no lesbians in it because they don't want to watch a gay movie
Normal people don't put an iota of thought into the sexualities of cartoons
And yet they avoid watching Strange World and Lightgear
This mermaid isn't a dyke
>dyke mermaid
I wish.
>oamab
>Dyke
Where?
A dyke mermaid would have been an improvement over "white character is evil, and the love interest is a black dude" again.
Nah, this is all going my way.
Disney: "We can retell our version of a classic, but with worst music and worse visuals and it'll succeed because Diversity!"
Audiences that want something good: "No."
Dreamworks: "We can rewrite out family comedy into a bizarre Franken-superhero movie, with a subversion of a subversion for the sake of subversions, and it'll have an evil version of the classic white Ariel and it'll succeed because people like subversions! And because take THAT Disney, amirite?"
Audiences that want something good: "No."
Mario made over a billion. Please stop saying this. Also It's not even the same comparison.
>The Little Mermaid will only lose about 50 million, which will quickly be caught up with in D+ value, rentals and merchandise
>Ruby Gillman might not even make 70 million (its budget) and could be a 100 million lost.
Mario isn't woke.
>B-B-But muh Peach...
She's as competent as she is in the games since the Wii days, and Mario's nerfed in the beginning to ease the audience into the world.
Lesbians could've saved this
>I AM A HUMAN
>I AM A HUMAN DR HAN
>>M-Muh White Mermaid
paired with Black person boyfriend
RISE OF THE BEASTS & ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE OMEGASWEEP
>What's that? The Little Mermaid flopped after blackwashing ginger Ariel? Clearly the answer is to incluse a ginger mermaid, but make her an evil bully!
Get woke, go broke. There are no exceptions.
Spider-Verse is already at six times it's budget.
What do you expect from Dreamworks? For every Shrek or kung fu Panda or How to Train Your Dragon hits, they tend to release average or badly written animated films.
Even the worse Pixar movies are still better written than most Dreamworks movie.
The next movie by Dreamworks is the Trolls: Band Together release later this year. Now if Dreamworks and Universal dont want to have another flop on their hand, what they need to do is to create INTERESTING MOVIE TRAILERS THAT DOES NOT SPOIL THE WHOLE PLOT.
The lack of marketing combined with a terrible movie trailer that spoiled too much of the story kind of ruined the movie.
Dreamworks is really fricking bad at making trailers even for their good movies. I thought Kung Fu Panda was going to be shit.
This shit has such ugly character designs it physically hurts to look at.
Clearly the answer is to make a movie where Shrek teams up with characters from various other DreamWorks movies to save their worlds.
