A lot of their creators always turn out with traits similar or adjacent to Captain Hero too.

Why do right wing "writers" always make the most boring-looking superheroes?

All they know are the icons like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Iron Man, or they rip off the latest thing they glanced at in pop culture or the MCU. If they had passion for any one thing inside these pop culture bubbles, the people within their own echo chambers would call them sinful and blasphemous.

I get a griftery vibe here. I’m all for throwback masculine heroes (I’m plowing through the complete Robert E. Howard
as we speak) and a Christian hero is fine if you manage to do something interesting with it in the context of a compelling story. But to promote it in this way is a turnoff for me. Maybe that’s naive, maybe a comic has no chance at all now without generating and/or exploiting outrage. But you’re claiming to encourage masculinity in the most feminine way possible.

Remember just how many of these early alt-right culture wars homosexuals resorted to petty "internet bloodsports" the second they weren't getting enough attention? You'd swear they were a bunch of 13 year olds deciding who gets to sit at the popular girls table with the way they were gossiping and backstabbing and throwing little tantrums. Lefty breadtube homosexuals do the same exact shit.

I have no idea, because I don't engage in shit I don't like unless it's actually at least as entertaing as good storytime of pain. It's not a shocker that the right and left breadtube equivalents of "content creators" who's only content is b***hign on youtube is similar.

You know I'd love a religious based hero who questions his faith.

I'm reading mistborn where basically a monk figure is questioning all the religious teachings he's been taught, realizing that everything he knows is a lie, and trying to process what happened in the face of a great loss his suffered.

(Anyone's who's read Mistborn o know I've fudged the details, but only to avoid spoilers.)

The problem is that most media that advertises itself as "christian" tend to be super lazy or "feel good" in the lamest way possible. They don't confront like actual issues in any meaningful way, they don't tell stories that are meant to try to convert anyone. They are just preaching to the choir in the most boring way possible.
If there were more Christian focused movies that actually tried to tackle more difficult topics in a nuanced way, they might actually get a wider audience. Think like Scorsese's Last Temptation of Christ or Silence for examples of that. But they aren't out for a wider audience, if anything the fact that they are super niche is part of the appeal to those they are selling to.

This. I remember reading a much better rewrite of God's Not Dead where it's about the atheist journalist who gets cancer. Her life begins to fall apart, but she gets taken care of by a local church. They have a huge positive impact on her and she starts participating in the church. When her cancer starts to go into remission, she starts to question if she indeed had faith or was she simply using it to comfort herself in a time of fear. Ultimately, she realizes that she doesn't believe in God, but she DOES believe that "God's Love" is the compassion people selfless share with one another and is something worth spreading.

This is extremely relatable; I had an experience much like that one. In the end, I believe in the unexplainable, but I'm not 100% sure if Elohim is behind it. I got extremely desperate and felt like some invisible force was filling me with resolve and guiding me and decided that it must be God, but then I started having anxiety attacks caused by guilt and figured that couldn't really be God, right? His love should be gentle and caring, not terrifying Stockholm Syndrome. I just don't know what to believe anymore...

A friend of mine used to do a satirical comic called Popeman and Cardinal, obvious homages to Batman and Robin (cuz robins and cardinals are both birds).
They would fight typical Batman-esque villains like the Pagan (a fatty goth girl designed to look like the Penguin) the Yiddler (a israelite demanding Holocaust reparations from the church, homage of the Riddler) and Fruitfly (Firefly, except he carries a Coach manpurse full of glitter and rainbows).
Surprisingly good and comically poignant, especially considering that the creator is a girl. She also had a pair of recurring characters named Taco Joe and Bob which she spun off into their own series. In one book (this girl drew and wrote dozens of comics), Taco Joe's cousin comes to visit and it's Steve from Blue's Clues who complains that Taco Joe's condiments are rude because the salt and pepper shakers ignore him.
I really wish she would have gotten this stuff published. It was all very, very good. And no, I never wanted to frick her. I'm not simping for her. She's whiter than white and I'm just not into white girls.

Sadly, I don't think she ever had. It was all pencil sketches with no colouring and barely any shading but the stories were so goddamn entertaining.

sounds amazing i would read it

It really fricking was. And here's the most amazing part: I don't know how she managed to not self-insert. Literally every middle school/high school doodler managers to self insert at some point but not only did she never do that, but she never got preachy or vindictive in any way. Just silly, funny stories about the Pope going around in his Popemobile doing fun shit.
Honestly, the Taco Joe and Bob ones were even funnier. She did an homage to Blaire Witch except it took place in a Maryland Walmart and the filming was done by a "poorly trained seal with a camera taped to his head."
I always encouraged her to get into writing cartoons or into animation or to try refining her art and get her shit published but she never did and the world is a worse place for it, I think.
