Marvel To Publish "What If Donald Duck Was Wolverine?" Comic

>"The comic will introduce Donald-Wolverine along with all sorts of reimagined Disney and Marvel mashups in a wild adventure inspired by one of Wolverine's most memorable story arcs, Old Man Logan. In addition, the saga will revisit some of the greatest moments in Donald-Wolverine's history including his time spent with Weapon X and the Uncanny X-Men! Travel to the near future where chaos rules as Pete-Skull transforms Duckburg into a super-hero-less wasteland. Only Old Donald Duck can turn the tide, but he's given up his battling days and prefers naps and his grandma's apple pie over fighting villains. But when Mickey-Hawkeye comes knocking at the door with Goofy-Hulk at his side, Wolverine-Donald has to make a choice! Will a trip down memory lane change his mind to save the world? Or will the lure of the backyard hammock and a long nap keep him from popping his claws one last time?"

Well... it had to happen I guess

    >"On merging these two icons, Barbieri said, "Donald Duck and Wolverine are two characters that seem almost impossible to make coexist, but in fact they possess very similar personality: they are both hot-tempered and unlucky, but in adversity they do not lose heart and always show that they have a big heart! Once this point was focused, writing the story turned out to be easy and fun!.. I always thought Wolverine's sideburns only looked good on Uncle Scrooge, but when I drew them on Donald Duck I realized they fit him perfectly too!" Perissinotto added. "Those pointy head tufts and thick sideburns go well with his shaggy being. I had so much fun adapting Wolverine's hair to Donald Duck that I would do him like this all the time now!"

They're having Goofy-Hulk help Wolverine-Donald according to the description so I don't think this is gonna be 1:1 with Millar's.

      Daffy.

I love Donald, particularly Euro written Donald, and he can be thus competent, but Daffy has butt loads of experience going against Elmer and Bugs and would be more inventive (which is highly important if his superpower is a ring that allows him to will into existence anything he can imagine) and also more scrappy.

Also, toon force is almost always never a factor in Donald Duck comics or cartoons, so whatever inherent cosmic powers the Duck universe isn't as strong as what powers the Loony Tunes universe, and the only thing a wolvie DD would have that would give him a huge advantage is Logan's mutant x-gene healing factor. But that's not going to keep Daffy from doing something as simple as imprisoning him in a construct, taking him to a deserted part of Mogo, and imprisoning him for life inside a construct powered directly by Mogo.

Pretty sure Disney already did this but with the Avengers, which is funny because now the X-Men are the new Avengers.

It's incredible how RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson leaving left such a negative impact on Marvel and Disney.

      >It's incredible how RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson leaving left such a negative impact on Marvel and Disney.
not really. execs just got full of themselves and thought they were the reason the mcu was popular and not the actors. anybody with a brain could tell you losing them would be a fatal blow if you didn't get equally charismatic actors to replace them.

To this day I will never understand why they didn't just treat the roles like James Bond instead of tying them to specific stars. Seems like it would have been cheaper and allowed for continued whoring as needed.

Evans did not have a high paying contract. Neither did Scarjo. The only one who truly got paid is RDJ. And excessively so, which actually kept the ability to pay more to other actors a problematic thing to the budget.

One of the reasons that you haven't heard much about a Tom Holland fourth solo film is that Sony doesn't want to commit to being stuck with paying Holland what he is likely worth NOW, even if Uncharted didn't make a lot of money and Cherry didn't get him the attention his agent and management thought it would.

Holland's team still want a huge bump in pay and Feige isn't able to necessarily pivot to recasting or rebooting him given all the other disasters going on.

            Makes sense

because replacing an actor here or there in a large shared universe isn't the same as recasting james bond every few movies. say rdj wanted out after iron man 3, marvel replaced him, now people are not only comparing the new actor to rdj but they are comparing chemistry with every member of the remaining cast. people wouldn't have liked civil war as much if it had been chris evans and rdj's replacement fighting. the actors had stuck around too long and had formed too much well liked chemistry with other actors that just replacing an actor at a time couldn't work.

Suppose that makes sense. Some walls charisma can't conquer.

No, these were just variant covers they put on Amazing Spider-Man. This Wolverine-Donald comic is probably the first actual comic and not some kind of variant
