Listen man, Snyder's never coming back to the DCEU. It's time to let the company wars go. Even before phase 4's mediocrity hardly anyone was a diehard MCU loyalist. The comics of both companies are now woke shit neither worth defending or lauding. You're fighting a one sided battle screaming into the void trying to stoke arguments with a fanboy army that doesn't exist.

This movie will be what it will be, like every MCU movie before it, good or bad, liked or disliked. Baiting pissing matches on Cinemaphile (of all fricking places) isn't going to change that.

The implication was that the OP is an anti-MCU argument baiting troll whose mindset was forged in the toxic Snyder days of the DCEU back when everything was Marvel vs DC on this board with a small, but outspoken, loyal DCEU defense force drove a largely one sided fanboy wars. The kind of people who have insisted Batman vs Superman is the Bladerunner of its time and in lieu of the DCEU's obvious fall have long since resorted to just taking the piss out of anything Marvel that comes along.

That's fair that his comment is still the usual playground "my x is better than your x", but to be a homosexual for a moment, he does have a point that dc is allowed more tonal variance, and for better or for worse, you don't know what to expect. Marvel has become so "standardized product", that people hoping to get something different are lamenting that the distinguished competition, for all their shit, can produce more things that aren't "haha funny whedonspeak".

That said, marvel still won singlehandedly before dc even got their shoes on. If only they had listened to Nolan and done unconnected films

DC is stuck in a moronic juxtaposition of saying they are dark and edgy while supers run around in bright costumes and adhere to a dogmatic no kill rule. No on in a DC movie ever looks like they're having fun except occasionally Galvatron or Beardy McMuscles. Superman, anyone only ever gives a shit about when he goes bad because we have long figured out truth, justice, and the american way are horseshit platitudes the government encouraged while we spent 50 years in a dick measuring contest with Russia. Batman is a furry with plot armor, and no matter how serious you try to make the latest psychos plot to poison the water supply and turn everyone in to clay people or what the frick ever, its still only the moron cosplaying as a bat who can do anything about it. DC is stuck so far up their own dark and serious ass they've forgotten how to have fun.

Marvel has the opposite problem. Their movies are all cookie cutter interchangeable shit filled with quips and quirky sidekicks and their scripts are like filling out a mad libs. They're supposed to be sarcastic and funny with an appearance by other-hero/villain and in the end the day is saved. Marvel at least knows they're selling comic books in movie form.

They really shouldn't have rehired her in the first place then, unless they really do think the outrage will make them more money, because I feel like after how they did in Black Widow, doing the same thing with Jane isn't going to make anyone happy.

It's male dominant sure. White male? Not really. Shang Chi, Blade, Captain Falcon, Black Panther. Half their TV shows are female led.

I mean I kinda get it. I think females are more likely to pay for TV shit than movies so it's probably wiser to put most of their females on streaming and men on the big screen.

By making the tone appropriate to the character and associating with a fitting genre? Noir for Batman, horror for Ghost Rider and so forth. Not everything has to be one-size-fits-all simply because you have myopic view of it.

The first Thor movie should have been in the viking age, where Thor lived as Sigurd/Siegfried the legendary Germanic folk hero like in the comics. Basically do the Donald Black amnesia but in ancient times. Maybe part viking age and part Thor making himself known in the modern age, pretending to be a human doctor named Donald Blake telling his story to Jane Foster his coworker, with Loki creating some supervillains like the Wrecking Crew.

10 years ago, I seem to recall Marvel fans arguing that Marvel is "grounded and realistic, the world outside your window". It was the reason they used to explain why they love Marvel so much.

What happenned that now Marvel is "not realistic at all, they are wacky and refuse to take themselves seriously and that's why they are so good"? How come the reason you worship Marvel now are a 180° from the reason you worshipped Marvel 10 years ago?
