MI2

Mission Impossible 2 is the greatest movie in the franchise

Tom is chad af. Hans Zimmer score. John Woo direction. And Limp Bizkit song. It couldn't get more based than that.

Movie made 100 million more than The Matrix.

Also this movie is Tom Cruise at peak.

This movie is what made Tom Cruise a global Mega Star. I have so much good memories about that back in 2000s.

It's peak 2000's SOVL. MI3 was garbage. 4 and 5 were good but really boring and didn't have an OUNCE of the flavour this one had. I can pop it in any day and it's still as good as I remember it. I really wish they continued the James Bond-like aesthetic and direction of 2 instead of whatever they turned into. It also has the most frickable mystery meat mutt in the history of cinema.

James bond is not fun and colorful. This is more fun and most explosive. Such a good movie.

If you're referring to Graig's shitty movies, sure. But this is a ridiculous statement otherwise.

Movie tried to be Matrix and ended up more successful than Matrix.

        It has Matrix aesthetic.

It had Hong Kong/anime style action and tone. Where did this Matrix comparison come from? Watch any of his Hong Kong movies, this is evident.

This is a truly incredible film that encapsulates EVERYTHING about the period it was made while standing the test of time. The other only film that compares is DW Griffith's 'Intolerance' (1916)

Holy SOVL. I want to go back so badly. I never understood why they changed the tone and style after 2 was so successful and everyone liked it. I remember at the time what a riot it was in the theaters. Everyone loved it. Then 3 was some le serious spy drama nonsense no one really cared for.

MI and Jason Bourne > Bond. Bond is been dead since Roger Moore left.

I disagree on Jason Bourne being there (not a fan personally) but MI definitely has taken Bond's crown for decades now. I feel like after Dalton's last movie, the Bond franchise was dead in the water. I always disliked Bronsan and Graig for deconstructing and ruining the mythos. MI never became pozzed and even the last one was incredibly entertaining and refreshing.

MI3 is good. Probably the only good movie from JJ Abrams.

PSH was great in it for sure but the whole movie has this subversive misery porn tone to it that I despise. No wonder israelite israelite Abrams directed it.

And the one that should have been continued. I really dislike how emasculated he has become. Being married, making his wife the center of his life and how he is now like an anime protagonist who wants to save his friends no matter what which has it's reason due to his team in the first movie dying but him in MI2 should have been the blueprint for him. He was a cooler yankee James Bond.

Rogue Nation is the best one out of all the new ones, I don't know why people prefer the bloated Fallout over it.

You people who champion MI:2 are the biggest plebs and love to be contrarian.
It's the worst of the series and it drags on terribly. Laughable performances and overuse of non-English chant singing (akin to the soundtrack of Gladiator) makes half the most an impromptu comedy with tropes happening so often you can make easy drinking games.

Terrible movie. What's worse is JJ Abrams basically remade the same movie again with MI:3 but set in China and had better set pieces, very silly.
