I can't believe that it's been nothing but racially accurate casting
>cast a blonde chimp
Could it be that Gunn... cares???? Eh, i still feel nothing towards this movie. I guess the capeshit fatigue fully caught me. Don't really look forward to anything these days. Kinda sad.
I kind of feel something, but need a trailer first. But it is definitely there.
Waiting for Perry and Lana casting
>racially accurate casting
Are you saying Supergirl dyes her hair?
No, she uses super-dye or her heat vision somehow.
I don't even care about race swaps, i'm, just happy we actually got a ginger twink Jimmy Olsen.
Can't wait for the inevitable Clark x Jimmy ship art!
Can't deny that, but I miss Sasha. Hope she can show up as the Injustice Superman daughter
Looks like a boy
These. The jaw and the heavy brow are kind of uncanny. But hey at least she's white-ish.
She ugly
She was super cute in the first series of upright and cute at certain angles in the second one. She could definitely doll up nicely, I'm sure.
she cute
Liked her a lot in House of Dragons
all wiener you say
I really liked her in House of the Dragon but the fact this is all based on a Tom King comic means I’m not excited
It's just a rip off of True Grit but in space. It's probably one of the best Tom King comics due to the fact that he copies so much from a much better writer.
HOW the FRICK are they all accurate? HOW?
Now now, she could stop dying her hair blonde once filming starts.
Also we all know Perry will be a black guy.
It's an easy way to score Cred with a certain crowd. Now the plot is free to be woke, and all the characters some shade of Doofus/Loser/butthole like all of Gunn's Superflicks, but there won't be complaints about blackwashing.
>and all the characters some shade of Doofus/Loser/butthole
Nah. Just Guy
Guy - butthole and Loser
Hawkgirl - butthole
Metamorpho - Doofus and Loser
Mr. Terrific - Loser
The Engineer - butthole
Supergirl - butthole and Loser
Superman - Doofus
Jimmy - Doofus and Loser
Perry White - butthole and Doofus
Lois - butthole
Anyone crying about Superman being woke has never read a Superman story.
I must have missed the issues where Superman blames all the world's problems on white men and demands affirmative action for the sake of making racial quotas.
>Now the plot is free to be woke
Everything I'm hearing about the plot makes it sound like an inverse of Superman vs the Elite where the current DCU superhero community is filled with tacticool military agents working for the government or "morally grey" edgelords willing to do horrible shit for the sake of the world while Superman is going to be an outlier in that he takes an optimistic and hopeful approach in being a superhero who prioritizes the safety of everyone and isn't willing to kill villains.
So basically it's going to be a frick you towards capeshit like the Snyder films or The Boys.
k i n o
That does sound like a nice idea.
The wokescreechers will still complain that it's woke because Superman isn't going around beating up minorities.
Eve Teschmacher accurate?
Comics and Donner version
>Blonde
>Curvy
>Big booba
James Gunn choice
>skinny actress wiith zero curves
James Gunn's DCU universe seems to have only skeletons as heroines, just as he did in the MCU
He likes them broomsticks.
that brosnahan chick has a killer rack
The Mrs Maisel b***h?
yes
Gunn doesn't wanna take risks. He needs the Superman movie to be extremely successful to launch the new DC universe. So he's trying to play it safe and avoid controversy.
Wtf, Jimmy is ginger!?
1. I was promised Lili.
b. So that's why the fake breasts.
>Gunn is basing this Supergirl on King's WoT
>never seen anything with her in it
>watch some clips of HotD with Alwiener
>she's morose, depressing, and serious as all hell
This is going to suck isn't it
>morose, depressing, and serious as all hell
pretty accurate summary of House of the Dragon tbh, doesn't really have the lighter bits of GoT to balance out the grimdark
Yeah but that's not necessarily what I want out of Supergirl.
I don't necessarily mind them doing a more serious Supergirl, though I prefer a version that at least tries to be more friendly and optimistic, on the surface at least, but I'm worried they're going to go too far in the opposite direction and just give us Rule 63 Snyder-man.
fortunately actors are not soulbound by an ancient blood curse to play the same exact character as their first big break and can in fact make different acting choices when playing different characters
>man I just can't see Wolverine being a happy-go-lucky sing-and-dance man
>man I just can't see Wolverine being a happy-go-lucky sing-and-dance man
Man I guess this site is still doing the thing where people just straight up put words into peoples' mouths and pretend like they're beating their argument that way.
This is what's called a "comparison," where someone in an argument compares your statement to an equivalent statement that is patently absurd in order to disprove or discredit the original statement.
You are judging how Alwiener will play Supergirl based on how she played a character that isn't Supergirl (moreover, you are basing this opinion on disjointed clips, which is itself plain foolish). It's just as silly as assuming Huge Jackedman would play Wolverine exactly the same as his stage musical characters, or that Chris Pratt would play Star-Lord exactly the same as Andy Dwyer.
You don't judge how an actor will play a character based specifically on how they played a different character, you judge their ACTING SKILLS based on how WELL they played that different character. A good actor will be able to play different characters.
Sometimes people forget what "acting" means
>This is what's called a "comparison," where someone in an argument compares your statement to an equivalent statement that is patently absurd in order to disprove or discredit the original statement.
No it isn't, that's idiots arguing against a strawman they have propped up to make themselves look intelligent.
>You don't judge how an actor will play a character based specifically on how they played a different character, you judge their ACTING SKILLS based on how WELL they played that different character. A good actor will be able to play different characters.
And like I said, multiple actors just play themselves or play the same character all the time anyway. Should we give her a chance? Sure. But my concerns aren't exactly 100% unfounded either.
They are 100% unfounded, I'm afraid. You're worried she's going to be a grim and dour Supergirl in a lighthearted optimistic movie because she played a grim and dour character in a grim and dour show. That's outright nonsensical.
>They are 100% unfounded, I'm afraid. You're worried she's going to be a grim and dour Supergirl in a lighthearted optimistic movie
We don't know if WoT is going to be lighthearted and optimistic when the book itself is fairly dark for a Supergirl book.
>You're worried she's going to be a grim and dour Supergirl in a lighthearted optimistic movie because she played a grim and dour character in a grim and dour shownot him but I think the concern should also be due to Gunn directly mentioned a dour, grim Supergirl story as inspiration and hired the guy who wrote it for his writer's room
I'm pretty sure someone who started in a Tim Minchin show can manage comedy.
I have no idea who that is so I had to look it up. That said I'm not questioning the actress's ability, just what will be asked of her.
>Huge Jackedman would play Wolverine
To be fair, I never liked him for that. Too tall.
people say it didn't matter but it absolutely did, Jackman Logan didn't carry himself like a scrapper like comic Logan did.
Remember a few months ago when the rumors is Harry Potter Logan popped up? Were that tiny israelite to bulk up, I think he could do the character justice.
I've really enjoyed Radcliffe's absolutely deranged post-Harry Potter acting career
I thought the whole point of this version of Supergirl is that she's more cynical and serious due to her upbringing to contrast how Superman is optimistic and hopeful?
>No Snyder
>Dollar store Henry Cavill
>Cringe pedophile director
>Bloated cast
>Hideous Supergirl
This movie will FLOP
>Bloated cast
This is by far my biggest worry. Gunn is very good with team movies but considering this is supposed to be a solo movie, it's very weird that there's so many characters in this movie. That and Gunn has already said that none of the characters are cameos, which would work better, in my opinion. I don't see how they can balance exploring and developing Superman's character, Lois Lane, and other staples like Jimmy Olsen, and the Kents, while also developing the villain, and showing us Metamorpho, Terrifc, Hawkgirl, the Engineer, AND Supergirl.
True but we don't know how similar she's going to be to her role in HotD. She could kill it or she could play essentially the same role for all we know. Plenty of actors basically just play the same role in every movie.
I still don't buy that Cavill would have made for a great Superman, his range extends to playing serious or dry deadpan characters.
This movies will made less money than Man of Steel.
>No Snyder
Good
Cope and mope
>lol at attributing aquaman to snyder
Momoa was Snyder's actor pick. But the reason Aquaman is good is because Snyder was ousted from the production and his influence largely ignored.
Meanwhile, I've seen zero of these movies. Ls all around boys.
maybe it really comes down to
left
>OH man DC is starting its own cinematic universe, i cant wait to see how it pans out
right
>wow this universe is terrible i wont bother with this shit
Getting the first movies right is what makes or breaks a cinematic universe
>>No Snyder
That's a good thing.
When will you people accept that Snyder and his influence is why DC's movies struggled so and failed to take off in the manner that they wished them to?
I thought Meg Donnelly looked better.
I just finished Upright today and was thinking she should be better known outside of Australia.
where can i watch that show
They should had kept Sasha if they wanted the diversity points.
Oh NOW I get it
breasts too fat
Let's be honest,
Emma should've been the pick.
The world isn’t ready for her in a cheerleader skirt.
Bold of you to assume capeshit would give a woman exposed thigh-
Oh wait this is DC not marvel, never mind.
You're completely right.
We don't deserve such blessings.
Who takes All wiener as their surname?
Awful. But it's not like I was gonna watch it anyway.
Of course they cast the ratfaced Aussie as Supergirl. Of course.
she's too scrawny and too cute, not enough stacy vibes so movie is already kill, big sad, i guess
Ewwww
