>ETHAN HUNT (Tom Cruise): The IMF agent who embarks on a dangerous mission to retrieve a terrifying new weapon that threatens humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from his past closing in, led by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Hunt is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.
>GRACE LAMBERT (Hayley Atwell): An ambitious young agent who becomes Hunt’s new partner.
>young
that could be someone's grandmother.
there could be no better use for a time machine than going back and pumping five kids into her
>basically what Cap did in Endgame
Why he is forever and always my true hero
Let me guess... she's secretly working for
or
>a terrifying new weapon that threatens humanity
so the rabbit's foot again
>young
lol
10 days out and no one can explain what the story is
>no one can explain what the story is
creates a super-A.I. for
but it gets stolen by
so Tom Cruise and his team must retrieve it while being chased by
These movies aren't rocket science, bro.
>the story
KEEEK, what matters is the action scenes and the mommy panty shots bro
Isn't Hayley Atwell like 45 lmao
>SHE WAS ONLY 45 YEARS YOUNG YOU SICK FRICK
She's young compared to tom cruise maybe
its so obvious that tom cruise just casts women he wants to bang
Lucky for us he has good taste.
>SHE WAS ONLY 48 YOU SICK FRICK!!!
damn Tom got him two b***hes in this movie. Truly the king
>ILSA FAUST (Rebecca Ferguson): A former MI6 operative who shares a complex relationship with Hunt.
Damn mommy is back? She was the only good part of MI5.
She might mog Hayley here.
mommmyyyyyyy
>BENJI DUNN (Simon Pegg): An IMF technical field agent and loyal member of Hunt’s team.
his nose is gross and distracting now he is older
>LUTHER STICKELL (Ving Rhames): An IMF computer expert and loyal member of Hunt’s team.
Does he do anything besides waiting around to cash MI checks anymore? He's basically retired, right?
I dont understand why they replaced him with simon pegg, luther is the better character. Hes got the coolest voice in the business, plus its iconic when he says Ethan. Peggs character is just shit.
Agreed. I actually fricking HATE Pegg's character he doesn't fit and drags the movies down. I hope they kill him off.
He asked for too much money to return for MI4, so they promoted Pegg to main tech guy. Then he realized he fricked up, came back for a cameo at the end of MI4 and was reinstated to the main cast for the rest of the series.
but Pegg is shit and Luther is totally worth it
>He asked for too much money to return for MI4
You gotta know your fricking place apparently.
These 2 motherfrickers are the ones that should be on strike.
>He asked for too much money
Hes literally the voice of the franchise pay the man. Luther, hunt, make a great combo. Pegg does frick all and adds nothing. He's just white noise.
He's their "comic relief" and he's terrible at it
he demands way too much money each mission to have a cooler bio.
>ALANNA MITSOPOLIS (Vanessa Kirby): An international weapons dealer known as “the White Widow”.
So lovely. Her photos with her boyfriend give me great heartache.
Why?
I tell myself "One day", bros, but it's getting harder.
I completely expected him to be black.
I'm just glad he's white
I wanted them to bring back Renner's character and have him in the field but now he has no dick and can't walk.
your mission is to steal ellen page's dick for jeremy and switch her meds for sunshine and romance films, convince her it's 2013 and no tumblr ever existed.
>GABRIEL MOORE (Esai Morales): Hunt’s nemesis, a powerful terrorist who has ties to Hunt’s past.
>BIPOC villain
How was this film allowed to be made???????
Another boring generic villain. Its crazy that the villian from 2 is the most memorable of the franchise.
>Its crazy that the villian from 2 is the most memorable of the franchise.
Jon Voight, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Henry Cavill all mog him.
He played a great villain, I wish they'd kept things more self contained like early bond instead of trying to go bigger and more world ending with each movie.
Sean Harris and Cavill are the best villains imo but you're right, as much I love the series as a whole it has really weak villains. It's just how the stories are structured, the villains almost exist as maguffins that force them into a series of difficult missions rather than an antagonist they need to stop. Like a challenging game without a boss level.
This actor is usually boring as frick. Hope he's a red herring
>PARIS (Pom Klementieff): A mute French assassin loyal to Gabriel.
>French
She looks asiatic.
An assassin really shouldn't have a tattoo on their face.
My wife
>asians can't act for shit
>mute her
can't bruise the cruise
Whats the point of her being french of shes mute. Shes going to sign language in french? Just dumb.
>Some weird James Bond goofy themed villian
ruh roh...
Pom Klementieff had sex with Manuel Ferrara, she's cute but this kind of haunts me
Why? Because le respectable Hollywood and the Porn industry should never meet?
it'd be better to not know that our Cinemaphile waifus frick massive wieners out there
Kayden Kross (Manuel's wife) said on twitter that he cheated on her with Pom. They used to publicly exchange messages too
Gross.
>has sex with half a dozen bawds a week for "work"
>NOOOOO you weren't getting paid for that sex, it's cheating!
>Kayden Kross (Manuel's wife) said on twitter that he cheated on her with Pom.
What the frick are the rules for "monogamy" between porn actors?
>So help me god I better not catch you with your dick in any other girls mouth, pussy, or ass that you aren't paying and filming or that isn't paying or filming you otherwise I'm going to be pissed.
Whoa did she really? Got any articles or anything?
>French
>asian
what?
are you saying she should be sub-Saharan African like most of Paris' residents?
>JASPER BRIGGS (Shea Whigham): An enforcer for a group of leaders of various intelligence agencies known as “The Community”, tasked with capturing Hunt.
Frick this is teetering on the edge of john Wick 3 tier bullshit for me.
Guys, here's the even more super secret organization that is behind all super secret organizations. WHICH IS WHAT IMF USED TO FRICKING BE!
Flanderization is real even on a meta/story level
The plot of the movie is literally that these guys are coming together to use A.I. to basically control the world and Ethan is against it.
So MGS2 but Mission Impossible?
So they are The Patriots.
the la li lu le lo!
>WHICH IS WHAT IMF USED TO FRICKING BE!
Not really. The IMF has always been just a black ops branch of the CIA.
I thought IMF was the no one else can get it done or risk exposure so we hire out to IMF to get it done.
They were, but they were part of the CIA. They were the CIA's SWAT team, so to speak.
>Whats the point of her being french of shes mute. Shes going to sign language in french?
Take a close look at her make-up, anon. She represents the very worst France has to offer.
>the very worst France has to offer
Muslims?
>Muslims?
I wish
Isn't "The Community" just basically Five Eyes?
I guess so, but it's so stupid to even think that the US would let the five eyes be above the NSA/CIA or whatever US organisation instead of simply a consulting agency.
This is the (stupid) plot of Spectre all over again.
>we want michael douglas but we're on a budget
>DEGAS (Greg Tarzan Davis): An enforcer for The Community and Briggs’s partner.
>DEGAS
More like NIGAS
>EUGENE KITTRIDGE (Henry Czerny): The former director of the IMF who is now a high-ranking member of The Community.
Damn. Henry Czerny looks like he's barely aged since M:I1.
>MARIE (Mariela Garriga): An asset for The Community who opposes their vision for the world.
>DENLINGER (Cary Elwes): An asset for The Community and the creator of a terrifying weapon.
Kino
why isn't jeremy renner in these anymore? At one point they were wanting him to take over the franchise from Tom
I think his Marvel commitments clashed with being able to have a more significant role. I really thought they'd bring him back for this though.
he's got no legs
He wasn't available for MI6 due to Avengers: Endgame, and now he's semi-retired due to the snowplow accident.
dick status?
>take over the franchise from Tom
No fricking way, Tom is a producer.
When Ghost Protocol came out, Tom's star was fading and Renner was skyrocketing. That's when they were reportedly wanting to phase out Cruise and make Renner the new main character.
I have a feeling he'll show up on the villain team (The Community apparently)
He was never completely and totally onboard with Hunt, he hated taking risks and seemed to favour intelligence gathering and shit than field work.
The plot seems to revolve around some kind of internet controlling/shaping system a'la GW from Metal Gear (villain gives a monologue about shaping the very concepts of right and wrong, plus there's circuitry motifs in some of the logos and such) which is definitely the kind of plan Renner's character would side with over Hunt and co.
>I have a feeling he'll show up on the villain team (The Community apparently)
I'm skeptical but I hope he does have a cameo where he and Hunt are in the field together again.
>He was never completely and totally onboard with Hunt, he hated taking risks and seemed to favour intelligence gathering and shit than field work.
Wasn't he just like Hunt until his frick up that caused him to be over cautious because he didn't want people to die again? Considering he went along with Ethan's plans and the person he thought died because of him was really still alive, and then he had Ethan's back from an executive position in later movies I think he's on board with Hunt and a good guy.
From what I got in the fifth one where Alec Baldwin shuts down the IMF, he kinda agreed that the shit they do is insane (particular attention paid to the nuke which got within 0.5s of blowing up San Francisco) but has faith in Hunt personally.
I dunno I just get the sense that he's a character who's smart to the odds and would rather put the future of the world in the hands of a nice safe global AI system rather than depending on a band of scrappy agents pulling increasingly ridiculous capers.
Also if they're going to do the usual thing of having the villains win in part 1 so the heroes can come back in 2, then having Renner show up and heel turn on Ethan would be a great 3rd act twist to help the villains win.
Yeah that'd go well with the character but it'd just be treading the same beats in every movie
>ETHAN YOU ARE A LOSE CANNON YOU CAN'T DO THAT
>Yes I can Jeremy Renner from the AvengersTM saga, this is the only way
>Okay Ethan I'm sorry you were right *hug*
>ETHAN YOU ARE A LOSE CANNON YOU CAN'T DO THAT
>TURN IN SELF-DESTRUCTING TAPE AND YOUR LUDICROUSLY REALISTIC MASK
>AND YOUR OTHER MASK
>ETHAN YOU ARE NO LONGER EMPLOYED BY THE IMF UNTIL YOU GET YOUR 17TH BOOSTER SHOT
Having Brandt work with Hunt to turn villain at the end of part 1 only to be a double agent in the next one would be something I could get on board with.
I always thought Renner should become the new IMF secretary since Alec Baldwin's character already died.
no pp
>All these posters hating on Benji
I don't mind the character tbh.
I don't mind isn't the same as I like him, which implies you realize why people hate him.
Yeah, can't argue with that.
He's fricking unbearable in 3 when he first appears, which I think they realized and course corrected later
A lot about 3 sucks. I kinda just forget most of it tbh.
3 is just the worst movie in the saga in all aspects.
With all due respect fren I think you should rewatch 2, I as well was kind to it in hindsight but having watched the whole series through recently it stands out as the absolute nadir.
I've rematched the entire saga this year and 2 is easily better than 3 and 5 plot wise, 3 is barf inducing and 5 tried to be oh so big and spooky with its villain but the execution is piss poor. Still cool action scenes and the heist scenes are probably better than 2s, but I much prefer young Ethan still working for IMF than 4 and 5's muh multiple plot twists and keikaku bullshit.
The further you get into the franchise the better 2 gets. Crazy that. Its just a simple plot with cool action scenes. Tom and luther is a kino duo, plus you have the love interest who isn't bad looking and a charismatic villain who just wants to frick shit up. Its very 80s and silly but its just trying to entertain. The later movies plots are just too convoluted.
Yeah I liked the romance they had, it's a pity 3 took a giant dump on it and put that faceless b***h as Ethan's "soulmate".
Its weird they had this james bond thing going then they dump us with this wife nonsense. The made a lot of dumb decisions in this franchise. Added too many characters.
Should Hollywood just be Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt?
Why is Rogue Nation so boring bros? i tried watching it and i just couldn't.
It failed to live up to Ghost Protocol's hype.
Too many characters. Lame villain. Annoying simon pegg. Not enough luther.
I literally saw this same post in another thread but for Ghost Protocol.
The scene with ethan and luther are at the pub then ethan on the flight to wherever has not been topped. The first movie is just so comfy. I couldn't see ethan doing that now, hes not even human anymore. The next twist should be ethan is a cyborg.
I'm gonna watch this because I know Tom Hates unwanted Black person in the cast.
wait, why isn't cavill in this?
he ded
>henry cavill coming back as Two-Face
it would send these movie into pure shlock territory if that happened
We've got a mime asian ninja assassin called Paris.
We're there man.
Did you watch the last movie?
