Nixonverse just finished. I guess this is definitely Cinemaphile now since the entirety of the Nixonverse takes place in a comic book. Is it a good ending?

After all of that Freedom finally made an appearance, so yeah good ending
This troony art is awful, why is Alex letting discord troons make official art for his shit now?
Maybe they're the only ones who applied.
>troony
Look, I hate political Troons as much as the next guy, but we already have a name for this artstyle: Tumblrcore. I know it's not really... in vogue, for want of a better phrase, since Tumblr went the way of MySpace; and yes, there is (or at least was) considerable overlap between the two demographics... but you realize that, to these people, trans or not, you're just validating what they think?
>I don't care
Cool, you're apathetic to making people you already hate even worse versions of themselves. Yes, the odds are astronomical that any of them will ever read this because a lot of them, if not all, think of this place the way Obi Wan thinks of Mos Eisley, but I'm just sitting here, praying to the God of Gods that we can put aside this petty drama built on petty drama and get along before the world falls apart in 20 minutes, please!
troony hands typed this post
>no reflection
>no consideration
>more of the same, making everything worse
The reason the horseshoe is upside-down is because you're both (not you two, specifically) bad luck for the human race. Do you want the next dominant species to evolve from raccoons and their similarly-pawed cousins? Because that's only the scenario where we go extinct without nukes. The best case, in other words.
>inb4
Yes, all of our conflict will result in our extinction.
Hey, Alex, make a series about that; you can have it for free.
>t.ranny
Great, more troony art. Not surprising because Freedom is essentially a not so thinly veiled troon analogy (a man that mutilated himself into the shape of a woman and then groomed a child to follow his footsteps)
If that's true does that make the Angel a walking gay orgy?
Alex is a slave to his discord troons so it’s not surprising
You type like the biggest homosexual imaginable holy shit
>You type like the biggest homosexual imaginable holy shit
I'll take that as a compliment, since you seem to unironically think "superhuman amalgamation of atomized soldiers enslaved by extremists and made to fight a living statue to end the world = metaphorical buttsex" is worth considering.
That was mostly a joke but Freedom is probably a troony icon considering it’s literally a mutilated man trapped inside a vague facsimile of a woman. It would explain the influx of discord troons that have been ruining the series for a while now.
>a mutilated man trapped inside a vague facsimile of a woman
You realize no troony thinks of themselves like that, right? Or if they do, it's buried under miles of false self-confidence... which does explain quite a bit, actually...
Of course they don’t see themselves as that but considering the troons are unironically dilating over a feminine man being groomed into following society’s expectations into identifying as a woman like Bridget then they lack any sort of self awareness whatsoever.
i mean i've seen troons calling freedom their girlboss or whatever
Expecting reflection, consideration and worst of all empathy for other human beings anons will never encounter in their lives on Cinemaphile is the most foolish thing you could do here after actually exposing your anus and credit card information.
Wait, when did Freedom show up? Or did you mean the came in the picture you posted?
Freedom is in the picture at the end
Dead series.
No.
Thought that was Wayne from Hylics. Monument Mythos is fricking awful.
Did you have a dropoff point, or you see through the whole thing as the shitty creepypasta of the current generation it was when the first videos dropped?
I originally liked the concept of fictional alternate history eldritch conspiracy theories, then turning into a superhero horror story was a bonus. It could be presented better but the whole lore and concept is great, I'm sure there's nothing else like it.
So the queen is dead the knight is dead but the big bad the crescent king is alive but trapped in a comic book?
More bittersweet if anything
That's the gist of it, but it's also implied the Crescent King = Horned Serpent, so I guess that means all of the Monument Mythos is trapped in the comic book too.
>The Crescent King is literally Evil Superman
Superman if he was brainwashed into becoming a religious weapon by the US government and then once again brainwashed into become an alien monarch, all against his wishes. More like extremely depressed Superman.
I interpreted it as the Horned Serpent being reborn through the Crescent King's body. I guess something similar was happening with Alcatraz and the Knight?
i think this is Alex's way of making the Nixonverse shit irrelevant because he realized it wasn't working out
Not a comic book, the whole thing was a internet series! Man this series got pretty weird, in fact I don’t think this was even an analog horror series at all from the start
We still have the unidentified her that the queen talked about and that the last son seen associated with Saturn
I do like that the series has slowly just been devolving into a total haze of fever dream-esque madness
Wait, what the frick happened to the Eye?!
The knight had it
well that was fricking anticlimactic
This subdued ending is extremely par for the curse considering how the rest of the seasons ended.
What was her fricking problem
ZAMN!
Don’t care I’ll wait for the wendigoon video explaining this
>Wenditroon
Dude's literally a gun-toting Christian with a girlfriend. If it turns out he's an FtM, I'll be very surprised.
SO HOW ABOUT THOSE MONUMENTS HUH
>MM still hasn't elaborated on what the frick the crab and alcatraz are despite just now ending
>mandela is ass
>walten files has a year long wait time and will more than likely not be worth it
>local 58 has extremely long hiatuses
tfw gemini's creator is the only one who can consistently put out work and isn't a hack
>what the frick the crab and alcatraz are
The crab just kinda happened that one time, and Alcatraz is a Prison Cell (get it?) that replicated to consume and become the entire world... in a single universe, which a failed Presidential candidate escaped and briefly became God before being written into fiction by an aspiring-astronaut-turned-artist.
>Alcatraz is a Prison Cell
mother fricker.
is ass
Nah man MC is still good. Especially now that the creator will be showing the alternates outside of just images
But Mandela IS ass, it gives analogue stuff a bad name
But it falls into the trap of showing too much, the scenes where the alternates are shrouded in darkness are extremely effective but when they're the main focus of a well light scene you can really see the limitations of the animation
It also commits the cardinal sin of constant exposition dumps. You could argue that the series is mostly exposition dumps.
Vol. 3 screwed the pooch. Unironic jumpscares, actually showing the alternates, etc.
>hasn't elaborated on
Good. Not all horror needs a 16 minute-long breakdown. The crab is GOOD because we still don't know how much of it was the crab and how much was good old mass hysteria causing a human crush. The trees are fine without a breakdown about where the Special Tree comes from.
>Mandela is ass
Yes.
>Walten files
I didn't even know that existed lmao
>Local 58
Honestly, seems like they got out while they were ahead which I can't blame them for.
>Gemini
Eh, it's...meh.
It better not be considering the last few years have done more than enough to kill my faith in comics.
I patiently await The Backrooms Found Footage 2, it's about to be the longest episode in the whole series.
>local 58 has extremely long hiatuses
That's for the best, I wouldn't mind if it stayed in its current state at all with how much a joke analog-horror has become/seen as after reaching a wider audience.
Don't care i will wait for nightmind to cover this
The rest of the series is going to be in a comic book slideshow format, isn't it?
It better be, and hopefully in a more Jack Kirby style than whatever it uses now.
where did it all go wrong bros?
how does one go from monument mythos to shitxonverse?
>where did it all go wrong
It told too much and showed too little, simple as. It's like I said in the other thread: AT MOST it should've ended at WASHINGTONWONDERLAND and arguably it was getting too bloated even before that. Factor in the guy trying to crossover literally everything he made ever and the original creep factor of a historical backdrop with a menacing undertone got lost because of all the capeshit-like escalation.
the biggest question is how you drop off from kino like freedomfaller, rockefellerrevelation and libertylurkers to this shit with AY YO WE WUZ GODZ
I never had a hard 180 reaction to anything like this. I was excited for every episode release of MM, but have watched two or three of Nixon.
>local 58 has extremely long hiatuses
Been so long I can't even recall the plot they were aiming for.
I hated this entire new series. I am officially now a Geminigay.
most people are, that's why nixonverse crap barely have any views lol. alex should've took his meds instead of going for muh abstract crap.
isn't the guy behind gemini making some slenderman series that's actually fricking spooky as shit
Morley Grove and yeah, pretty spooky
Yes, and it's kino.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlOwACGUEE89khgueL_rW5nKr9P8K0BRE
Too much build up for what is essentially just loud spooky noises. The concept needs to be pristine for this sort of thing to work and I don’t really think it justifies this sort of slow burn of nothing really. I sincerely question your taste if you think this in particular is praise worthy on any aspect.
does the morley man aka slenderman groove?
I thought Morley Man was just Slenderman 1 to 1 is that really what he looks like?
when does it get spooky again?
Gemini is vastly overrated. It also suffers from all the same over-expository shit all these things suffer from. All it has is a marginally better looking package.
>over-expository
Gemini's hole format is "educational VHS tape, sometimes tampered with." If it wasn't expository, he'd be doing it wrong until he got to the found-footage segments (i.e. "Weirdest Animals," "Home Invasion").
The format is exactly the problem though, it doesn’t justify the poor storytelling or predictable “scares”
Nah, Gemini was always mediocre; it's just more consistently so than the downward spiral that MM became. Personally though I'm still a Kane Pixels/Lost in the Hyperverse/Frag 2 fan because they started with something decent and have been consistently adding to it without taking away from what made their shit neat.
Even if most Backrooms are ass and/or bad comedy.
Seems like he just didn't know how to escalate, but felt he had to.
>D-Day Knight is a mentally handicapped man with anger management problems but is capable of genuine remorse
>Last Son just wanted to save everyone and win at all costs, and repeatedly tries to get the frick out and not bother anyone but people keep starting shit
>Luna viewed Earth as puny mortals she had an absolute right to judge from the beginning, started the invasion of Earth, and probably dateraped the Last Son once he was abducted to become the Crescent King
Nixon was wrong, Luna was the one who was mad and bad from the beginning while the others at least tried to be something else.
Luna is just as tragic as her “brothers” are. She genuinely thought that humanity had the potential to be greater than they were, but after being proven wrong time and again she immediately decided to take matters into her own hands. She manages to be more destructive due to her kingdom and influence. I imagine the prophecy she always spouts about is also an attempt to bring the 2 beings she’s closest to in the universe into the family she’s created.
She had it far, far easier. She understood the first guy who shot at her was given orders by someone else. She had a kingdom of…things, wherever they came from. The Last Son had a shitty childhood and still grew up to be a suphero during the Vietnam War, the D-Day Knight fought in WW2.
Luna didn’t have to do shit. Nobody asked for her help or intervention-and NOBODY benefited from it at any point, unlike her brothers. She could’ve stayed on the moon and done that thing-but no, she had to come down and mindrape her kin and lay waste to the world. Out of all 3 of them, she easily had the biggest hand in everything going wrong-especially with the Knight and Son actively rejected her ideology, and ultimately proving it false by her not taking no as an answer from them.
>omg FREEDOM!!! im leaking so much girlcum rn
>somebody NEEDS to show this to ed dwight
1 updoot for you kind xer!
The Knight inadvertently redeeming Alcatraz by getting rid of an all consuming alien species was neat. Alcatraz’s time as a human and a hero must’ve actually gotten to it. Luna essentially going off script and causing the most chaos in the series despite only being an extension of Nixon brings up some questions on who she was back in Deanverse, since it’s apparent that Nixon based all 3 of his “children” on people he knew and the anomalies that affected his old world.
>he entirety of the Nixonverse takes place in a comic book
That's moronic
That's like saying Tron the movie is Cinemaphile
>(guy who is an artist in real life) was twice the god that (being acting as a god in a fictional universe) could ever be
That's interesting, because it reminds me of the (as of now, but likely to remain) last video of a guy on YouTube I used to follow closely---won't say who, but he started in the "debunking religious videos" genre, moved onto politics, regretted it, and focused more on the paranormal. In that last video, he expressed the idea that being alive makes us like gods, because we can create beauty where there previously wasn't. We can make art, write stories, compose music, all to evoke worlds otherwise unobtainable. He even says, if God does exist, he's nobody compared to us. Sure, he gave us the world to do stuff in, and that's impressive, but the most impressive part of it came about by accident: us.
That last upload wasn't even that long ago, too...
That sounds like incredible cope for being an unpopular artist tho
If it's cope, it's cope I can get behind
>yfw ALCATRAZ CHECKMATE
Luna deserved being fricked up by the Knight. All it took for him to get serious was entering a state of horrific depression.
He basically said
>"What more could you possibly take from me?"
and did the funny in a way only he could
I have my gripes with the series but that moment is great.
>THERE IS ONLY ME.
Last Son really got fricked over during this whole series, all because a God-like being wanted to preform an experiment. I was kind of hoping he’d manage to actually frick up the world like it did to him after he achieved full Horned Serpent.
Honestly still disappointed that the Lunarian Queen ended up being part of Nixon. I figured she was some amalgam of Freedom and the Airforce One Angel that was the direct result of their clash at Babylon.
neat finale
though i just want a monument mythos prequel series that elaborates on stuff that happened before the great division, like what happened to dean and more stuff about howard melrose and maize
>Knight is Batman but with the powers of Superman, even had a helmet that gave him the pointed horns that are bat's ears
>Last Son is blatantly Superman
>Luna must be a warped version of Wonder Woman as royalty from realm's society and becomes their ambassador on Earth
This is just convoluted capeshit.
There's a reason it's a shit. But kek yeah, Luna basically enacted Earth-1 Wonder Woman's take over the world plan except with no editor to step in and claim it's a good end.
2022...I am forgotten....
You won, king. What's left to say?
I don’t hate what Alex was going for with this but it wasn’t hitting me nearly as hard as monuments was. I really missed moments like Washington Wormhole or Canyon Crowns, etc. Not to mention what the hell happened to all that corner folk shit?
It's the lack of human touches, and the clumsy attempt to expand the scope of the conflict. Instead of, say, being able to see the visceral and discomforting breakdown of a family as a result of American exceptionalism as well as actual effort invested in something scary just out of sight, you get a shitty clipart animation and "PS Superman mindraped the planet". It's not just quantity over quality, there was so much effort being put into making the horrors look POWERFUL that there was less spared to make them seem SCARY. It's even difficult to care about anyone suffering when humanity is mostly treated as a kind of collective blob that consistently makes terrible, terrible decisions and the few exceptions to that rule aren't developed much before being killed off.
Wait, if the Knight and Last Son are different entities, why is Knight's big "frick you" attack called "Alcatraz Checkmate"?
>Wait, if the Knight and Last Son are different entities
They aren't, they are both extensions of Nixon.
I know, but they are still distinct from each other. Or do they just have same powers?
What even is the Last Son's and Knight's connection to the Alcatraz and its "matter"? The replicating prison island doesn't even exist in Nixonverse.
Honestly them being both Nixon seems like a clumsy retcon to justify the Nixonverse title. They're both somehow remnants of Alcatraz as well as extensions of Nixon, after all.
He had the Last Sons eye
Wait what?
The Knight got it from Alice who had it when he killed her, same red eye the Last Son had
There's some reversal happening with the two.
The Last Son becomes the Horned Serpent when previously it was the Knight who had the most connection with the Horned Serpent literally wearing its skull.
And the Knight destroys the Lunarians with Alcatraz when previously it was the The Last Son of Alcatraz who had the most connection with the Alcatraz it being in his name.
I don't fully understand it but it definitely isn't coincidence.
MM started off as a really weird alt history/eldritch horror series, but quickly devolved into the most paranoid schizophrenic ass 'cia Black folk outside my house' shit I have seen in a while
that's what made it good
>We never found out what Deanverse Dean's deal even is
>For all we know, he's just a really cool guy the ADA hate for no good reason
>he doesn't like Dean
NGM
He just wants to race cars
