It's only in imax because it's nolan's preferred way of filming and viewing, but the actual content of the movie doesn't lend itself to imax. I would say imax is only worth watching if it provides a different experience from watching on a normal theater. Something like Avatar 2 is made to be watched in imax 3d and you would not get the same level of immersion on a normal screening. It's a hard sell to convince me that Oppenheimer is the same thing.
