>noooooo!! You cant make a batman movie that's funny lighthearted and fun to watch, it needs to be dark and brooding and batman has to be super serious batman is for adults!!!
All the criticism of this movie, its great

It's stupid, funny, ridiculous, entertaining, idiotic, and amazing. All the silliness of Batman Forever dialed up to eleven
When someone tells me they hate it I know they're a humorless homosexual with a stick up their ass
I loved this one but could never get into Batman Forever. That's the one with Riddler, right? There is just something totally unacceptable about Jim carrey in that role. There are plenty of villains with no dignity, who don't know how to move or behave or speak like a human being, on a basic level, and Carrey might have been OK in a role like that. But the riddler was a real person as far as cartoon villains go. A thinking individual, hand crafted by the writers for the purpose of engaging and challenging Batman as a detective and thinker. Jim Carrey is not capable of making the decision to perform a role in a way that excludes his typical hootenanny. Watching him play the riddler makes me imagine watching Ashton Kutcher play Q as a full-on Kelso dudebro in a nutrek, or watching Pee-Wee Herman play Saruman from lotr but as Pee-Wee Herman. I don't think Riddler is really on the level of those two but that is the degree of intensity of the disconnect between Carrey and the role
Too much buffoonery for you to sanction anon?
I don't know anything about Batman outside the movies and wondered if the Riddler was always intended to be a poor man's Joker.
So basically your criticism of the move is that Carrey wasn't typecast?
Probably one of Jim Careys better roles ngl. Arnold seems like he is having fun as well.
I'm just peeved that Batgirl's suit didn't have nipples.
dat ass doe
Right on
the movie before this is also Kino
frick now I remember this movie gave me a fetish for thigh high boots and opera gloves and catsuits
kek
frick bane
Nah Clooney is fine in this film, he was stupid and ridiculous and felt out of place but that's part of the charm.
I like his arch with Alfred having cancer, it has heart and sadnes to it. it was a well directed drama inbetween all the goofy stuff
yes one of the most interesting gotham cities
again that adds to the camp I think
I genuinely think the movie is really good.
it is very entertaining and dumb.
>it's stupid and therefore it's good
Classic Cinemaphile contrarianism like I said.
he didn't say that dumdum
>>it's stupid and therefore it's good
>Classic Cinemaphile contrarianism like I said.
Stupid things can be fun,
and fun things are worth a person's time.
which makes it good, because things worth people's time are a good thing.
why is the concept of dumb fun movies hard to understand for you?
Dumb and Dumber 1 starring Jim Carrey is also a very stupid movie but people love it, because they have a good time watching it.
batman forever, might not be an intelligent Nolan movie, but people genuinely enjoy it cause it's very fun to watch, it's funny and (also emotional , Arnie's wife, Alfred having cancer, Robin looking for a new home) and the visuals and production have a charm.
>intelligent Nolan movie
Because Schumacher movies are so intellectual, right?
Moving the goalposts now are we?
Are they or are they not?
It's irrelevan, neither Schumacher nor Nolan make intelligent movies. But at least Schumacher's films have some entertainment value, I wouldn't rather watch Batman & Robin three times in a row than subject myself to even five minutes of Nolanshit
>It's irrelevant
No it isn't. The Schumacher films are more dumbed down and aimed at a simpler audience.
Yes and Nolan films are aimed at even dumber morons who want to feel smart for enjoying over-convoluted edgelord nonsense
I rewatched this because I remember it having sovl but man it does not hold up. The cinematography is so bad. So many dutch angles and close ups. I appreciate the effort in the set design but watching in Full-HD it feels cheap.
Where can I buy boots like this for my girlfriend to wear?
whenever I find boots they are kind of clunky and not fitting well into the legs form,
need something tight fitting like the picture here.
I just watched it in 4k two days ago. I was bored. If it wasn't a Batman film nobody would remember it.
Yeah sorry I'm just going to come right out and say it
Arnie as Mr. Freeze was fun and I jerked off to Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy countless times
I put a lot of the blame on Clooney. He's just completely lost in the batsuit. Honestly everything to do with him, Robin or Batgirl just sucks - it's like they don't know what movie they're in so they're just completely on the wrong page. Meanwhile every scene with Uma and Arnie is great. She's doing over-the-top camp and he's just having fun being goofy and chewing scenery. Whenever they're on screen it becomes the fun kind of bad movie and those 2 knew exactly what they were doing (well, Uma did. With Arnie it's kinda hard to tell but it works)
The guy who was playing Robin looked like he was having a blast. Clooney looked miserable.
Clooney obviously slumming it and being awkward was a pleasure to watch in its own way
Part of Arnie’s appeal is that he knows exactly what he’s doing but it doesn’t come across as self conscious schtick or winking to the audience. You buy into it so much that you think “this guy isn’t even acting or aware of how this is working, it’s just Arnie being himself”
>poster has actors' names correctly assigned to them
Hate when this happens
The beginning was great with them going to space and surfing away from an explosion and then the movie just gets boring as frick for a long ass time
arnuld carried this movie, it was easy though because he is a big guy
Aesthetically it's fricking magnificent, I wish there was a real city that looked like Schumacher's Gotham
but you're a fricking chump if you don't think the screenplay is boring dogshit and Clooney doesn't drag down the whole thing by being a miserable pissbaby who thought he was too good for the whole thing
>ALWAYS WINTERIZE YOUR PIPES
the screenplay is fricking hilarious
Arnie's best movie.
the absolute state of nu/tv/
still made more money than snyder garbage
They problem wasnt campiness, that movie is shit, you only watch it to make fun of it
It's entertaining, whether it was intentional or unintentional doesn't matter to me
Batman fans can still like camp if it's done well
>movie is shit, you only watch it to make fun of it
but enough about The Dark Knight Rises
Even as a kid I knew the serious depictions were better than that embarrassing camp shit.
It only ever worked in Forever because it blended camp with edge and in Lego Batman cause it's Lego.
The problem isn't that it's goofy and lighthearted, it's that it's not witty enough or funny. None of the actors really sell the camp. Clooney has nowhere near the energy Adam west had in the role. He just feels tired and miserable.
>noooooo!! You cant make a batman movie that's funny lighthearted and fun to watch, it needs to be dark and brooding and batman has to be super serious batman is for adults!!!
people like 60's batman and the lego batman movie dumbass you just have terrible taste
people also like Batman & Robin, as evidenced by this thread and many others
I meant people with respectable opinions anon
such as yourself? lol
narcissism is truly the great illness of the age
>Arguing about fricking batman and robin
kek
sorry did we bump down your soijack thread? Our bad
>narcissism is truly the great illness of the age
nah it gets you laid bro
Yeah having strong opinions about movies is a real pussy slaying technique lmao
I was talking about narcissism in general not just narcissistic movie opinions you autistic moron
I think it's someone's nap time
Chris O'Donnell is cute
Camp is fine if you lose the self-awareness and just go along with it. Clooney's serious/sarcastic tone just ruins it, like he's trying to tell the audience "this sucks right? I know!". Would have worked better with Val Kilmer
>liking any type of capeshit
Anon, I
If you dislike Superman 1978 you have irredeemably worthless taste and should never be allowed to discuss movies in any conversation ever
*proceeds to watch capeshit from Japan*
I'm glad people realise Clooney was the problem here. I don't like him as an actor generally and he fricking sucked as Batman.
The only reason why I can see someone liking this is due to Cinemaphile contrarianism. I'm normally pretty defensive on movies but this one shat the bed.
>muh contrarianism!
Yes, the only reason anyone likes the movies you don't like, is to look cool on an anonymous image board. You're so smart for figuring this out, oh high authority on all that is good or bad! Praise be to you and your eternal wisdom!
>Yes, the only reason anyone likes the movies you don't like, is to look cool on an anonymous image board
Unironically yes. This is just a form of rebellion towards modern movies by people who don't realize both can be bad at the same time.
No it isn't, you're just a self-centered moron incapable of understanding opinions other than your own. In the discussion of one particular film, you seem to surmise that these people are just contrarians, without knowing ANYTHING else about their tastes, what movies they like or dislike, just their sole opinion one ONE (1) movie you happen not to like. If you don't realize how fricking stupid that is, there is no hope for you.
Or, are you claiming that every film that is popular and beloved by most is also beloved by you? Surely someone as yourself only enjoys movies with at least a 6.0 on IMDB! Because you're a man of such high and refined tastes!
Nah Cinemaphile is just contrarian but I appreciate your perspective
>board for social rejects and autismos
>they happen to *SHOCKINGLY* have unusual opinions that don't align with the mainstream
Oh no, that doesn't make any sense, it must be that they're just pretending to like Batman and Robin and secretly they agree with you sir
I never considered Uma Thurman 'hot' until this movie. She was sexy as frick in that green catsuit and the red hair.
watch Adventures of Baron Munchausen
>a young uma thurman
>oliver reed
I'm sold
>young uma thurman
young uma thurman booba no less
It's Gilliamkino of the highest order
She looks good enough to eat
this is one of my favorite superhero movies.
I also love the previous one with Jim Carrey.
It's fun and it was supposed to be fun, people should not take it seriously.
Not enough ice puns
I’ll admit it’s fun and I have no problem with a Batman movie being bright and colourful and goofy with plastic sets and props and bat skates. The villains are great the problem is all three heros are shit. Batman looks like he’s lose to a bumblebee, Robin looks 35 and Batgirl is fat.
>The villains are great
Only visually
>Batgirl is fat.
you mean thick.
shut the frick up, the batgirl actress gave me huge boner.
frick all of the idiots here, this movie is Kino.
>batnipples
this b***h was so ugly
are you gay or something?
watch her in "Clueless"
The elephant is the room is that banehomosexuals are salty af about what they did to their boy in this movie.
that's just one of numerous issues
uma thurman carried this entire thing on her back
Being a simp is fine, even more so with Ivy, but only making him a mute tough guy is a waste of the character.
i think i had a man crush on chris o'donnell. like its the first memory i have of a guy getting on a motorcycle and me thinking it's "cool". i'm straight btw
Returns in objectively the best Batman movie and anything else is cope
