This. I enjoyed it, and I think most will agree that there are a number of racist cops in this world, but Baltimore is also a majority black city. And most of the outrange that should be directed at cops for corruption and abuse of authority should be done by blacks and whites together but it usually just devolves into racial arguments while nothing ever gets changed.
And in a city as overrun with drug use and gun violence as Baltimore, if you can show you’re consistently taking drugs and guns in seizures I’m sure you can get away with a lot.
But the GTTF honestly just sounded like a bunch of below-average intelligence individuals.
only people that hate cops are criminals and druggies. I haven't had a single issue with the cops in my 32 years. I have been pulled over 15 times for speeding and only got 1 ticket.
No, I'm white and my family isn't full of degenerates. I have no friends or family that has had any trouble with the cops. We aren't criminals or scumbags.

Ok bud. Sounds like you aren't mature enough to handle authority. Stay salty. Let me guess cop smelled weed when he pulled you over? But you dindu nuffin? Well you did, you weed is illegal.
My dealings have been mostly pleasant too, but one or two times I've been spoken to with an air of suspicion for being out late at night. It's a pretty scary and uncomfortable feeling, even as an adult. I'm not an angry person, but I can see how for people that are, being put in a position of discomfort could turn to resentment.
what the frick is a cop going to do? show up 15 minutes later, jot down "black man wearing hoodie" and never catch the guy?
cops are useless u fricking moron. they exist solely to generate revenue for the state thru parking tickets.
The cops did literally nothing wrong. Everyone knows all those Black folk were guilty of something. If you don’t lock them up today you’re going to have to lock them up tomorrow
>He committed suicide but staged it to look like a on duty murder so his family gets a fat pension
This. They even said an independent review determined it was suicide.
It felt so contrived and preachy. The "good guys" take the word of drug dealers and criminals as fact when dealing with police misconduct. They use the Gun Trace scandal to smear the entire department. They imply black people don't talk to cops because all cops are like the GTTF criminals, when in Simon's own previous shows black people don't talk to cops for fear of retaliation from the neighborhood. Obviously Simon has cop friends and he didn't want to smear every single one with his 'frick 12' soapbox scenes. But his "good cop" scenes are laughable. They arrest a drug dealer and not only does he go peacefully without a word of protest, he even admits to the drugs they find on him, really?!
You should watch the ~~*VICE*~~ News story they did on the cops. They wanted the viewer to feel bad for some jig who got a few grand taken off him and was running a drug house with his kids home and made it seem like they took his rent money kek
They pretty much implied in the show the cops murdered a drug dealer because they stole his money and he couldn't pay a debt so other criminals killed him. HE'S A FRICKING DRUG DEALER! He would have ended up murdered regardless.
Didn't watch it, because I could tell what it was going to be, because I'm always right.
Then read a review that was something like it's a series built by rage and so lacks all the finesse and humanity Wire had. Cops bad, hood rats good. I think it was written by a black guy, which is why he could actually express an opinion.
The dialogue is pretty bad in this show. Every line feels like a table read or a 1st or 2nd take. Plus they have stupid lines like: "I work HVAC, you know heating and air conditioning"
I feel like ~~*HBO*~~ wants us to feel about about the blacks getting arrested but I was cheering for the cops every episode.
I watch for the strip club scenes
I now have a really bad midget fetish because of this show.

Are you a moron maybe? You realize that 75% of the cops in that show were black right?
Yeah and? Nog criminals were still getting beat up and stolen money from. Its a win for me.
perfect
i hate cops almost as much as i hate Black folk
frick you. Hope you get robbed by a Black person and have no one to call
that's what guns are for. hopefully the cops don't arrest me for shooting some heckin' Black personino though
>call policemen
>he shoots the Black person, my child, me, my dog and gets a full early retirement for post traumatic stress if my wife sues.
Frick them
he feared for his life, please understand 🙁
>living near any of this shit
get a real job moron
black hands typed this

It'll happen. It's only a matter of time. Either you or someone you love will get fricked over by the cops.
No, I'm white and my family isn't full of degenerates. I have no friends or family that has had any trouble with the cops. We aren't criminals or scumbags.

The cops owned the city alright. But they forgot about the system of checks and balances. They were bound to get caught sooner or later.
>NOOOOO YOU CANT JUST STEAL FROM DRUG DEALERS THATS AGAINST THE LAAAAAAAAW
That opening theme was really off if you ask me
How can you have such a serious story kick off with
>WE OWN THIS CITY WITH ROCK AND WE OWN THIS CITY
so who killed the black detective? one of Jenkins dudes or just a random Black person, no way he just killed himself
>his own service weapon found under his arm moments after being shot with it
Stranger stuff has happened but it sounded like suicide
they literally put up the plot out against a black background right at that second. it's not fiction
He committed suicide but staged it to look like a on duty murder so his family gets a fat pension

This. They even said an independent review determined it was suicide.
They also had a hamfisted scene where two black officers give "their" sherlock holmes opinion of how it was suicide.
Only guy I almost felt bad for was the one with the Impalla. That cop bumped into him and called it assault and got busted for a taillight.
What do I have to do to get this woman grilling me in an interrogation room? Join the cops and start robbing civilians?
Did they ever mention the Feds are now going after Mosby for mortgage fraud and misappropriating COVID reflief funds?
I don’t remember her being portrayed but she was mentioned multiple times for her decision to prosecute the Freddie Gray officers

They might not have owned the city, but the GTTF was truly out on The Wire each and every day.
>Least convincing cop ever
Right? Dude looks like a crackhead
>smacks lips
Ive seen 1 minute of this show and dropped it when this fricker tried to speak
Didn't watch it, because I could tell what it was going to be, because I'm always right.

I agree that it's no The Wire but the message isn't "Cops bad, hood rats good".
In fact I didn't see any message in the show, the creators just made a tv show telling us about corrupt cops in an irredeemable city.
>In fact I didn't see any message in the show
You must have been asleep.
