Now that WBD is on verge of bankruptcy, which billionaire business daddy should be cheer on to buy Warner Bros. Studios?
I'd have said Elon Musk last year, but he's been acting a little too schizo lately, so my pick is François-Henri Pinault, the husband of Salma Hayek.

Bro, imagine if Disney bought them! We could have Superman meeting Spider-Man! Pure...awesomeness!
Mattel should buy both and then we’ll have the Barbvengers cinematic universe
Disney far more likely to go into chapter 11 than Warner.
Not really. ESG will carry them forever no matter how much chuds complain.
>Not really. ESG will carry them forever no matter how much chuds complain.
That's not how it works
Your tinfoil hat is on too tight
Iger's already looking to sell off assets in order to make the sale to Apple look more attractive. It's unironically over.
Who could even buy them that actually wants them? I think WB and Disney proved you shouldn't just buy a company to dump their catalog and IP's onto their streaming platform.
>Elon
This would be kind of awesome for the salty reaction alone. I bet he has shit taste in movies, but at least none of them would be woke.

wouldn't WB cost like $150 to $200 billion?
It's only worth ~$30B by market cap but it has like $45B in debt.
Why would they be on the verge of bankruptcy when they just released a billion dollar movie.
because they released a dozen bombs before that and their streaming service is bleeding cashola
5 straight quarters of net loss. Losses are trending up because their debt load is insanely high, and the U.S. Fed benchmark interest rate keeps rising.
I think the fed counts two straight quarters of loss as being the official benchmark of being in a recession. Imagine being a company/corporation and you have 5 in a row
Anyone saying WB isn't in trouble is sticking their head in the ground
Because their other movies (especially their DC ones) have lost billions for them. Especially The Flash with its 300M budget and marketing.
And Blue Beetle bombing too.
A single billion dollar blockbuster can't save them from the tens of billions they lost on everything else, however. It's just like how Avatar 2's $2.1B+ gross can't salvage Disney's $124B debt, which is why they're considering selling off assets to survive.
The money they make from Barbie will barely be enough to cover Barbie's production/marketing costs and make up for what they wasted on trying to salvage The Flash.
The successes aren't coming fast or often enough to sustain them.
They’re not going bankrupt but they have been poorly run for a really long time.
>Now that WBD is on verge of bankruptcy
No they're not. Barbie will gross over a billion.
See
The Flash bombed massively and lost 600M.
Not to mention the Blue Beetle and The Meg 2 will lose them money.
>No they're not. Barbie will gross over a billion.
It won't cover their losses. There's still Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 to release.
>Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 to release.
both will bomb, the age of capeshit is coming to an end.
It won’t. It’s already slowing down and that’s considering that WB is actively lying about their profits on it.
All we wanted was a conclusion to the Snyderverse. What WB don't want to admit is we also never got a conclusion to the Donnerverse or Burtonverse as well. All of them have had heave executive meddling. All they need to do is lower the budget and give the directors a chance to complete their vision. Only Nolan was given the chance.
>Only Nolan was given the chance.
While it was cancelled on the same sudden terms as the others, I'd argue the Schumacher films feel pretty complete as is.
The Schumacher films are set in the Burtonverse.
>The Schumacher films are set in the Burtonverse.
You are making the Flash seem even more worthless. Do you want that?
the actors and writers should buy it collectively
Is WBD on the verge of bankruptcy? Basically everything released so far was made by WB before Discovery bought them. Discovery hasn't sunk much money yet.
>Basically everything released so far was made by WB before Discovery bought them
Gunn isn't any better. I would argue it is worse than before because we know what he can do.
You can say that when the movie's out. Gunn's got fans and he picked the right adaptation to make use of his GotG skills. I don't think it's going to pass a billion, but I expect it'll be a solid success and might give WBD some momentum to do a proper restart now that they're under new management. Now if that management sucks, Gunn phones it in, and the movie flops? Then we can talk about bankruptcy.
Especially if they properly merge their streaming service, Max/Watertower/whatever has enough properties on it that it could earn them a modest income as long as they don't overproduce original content. If they make a proper kid's section, it might kill Disney+ even. Cartoon Network and Discovery Channel content would make for a solid kid's app.
>You can say that when the movie's out.
Yes I can. He has done Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. They are mediocre for DC.
>Gunn's got fans
I was okay with him at first but since taking over DC he has become such a fricking liar. He lost me.
You are one serious capeshitter.
It was kino when the Beverly Hillbillies bought a studio.
FRICK HOLLYWOOD
FRICK THE israeliteS
Hopefully the whole studio is ripped into pieces with each part going to wildly different peoplle
It will be Ari Emanuel the part Owner of The UFC look into it
Merge with Amazon. Prime members get half off entry to Universal Studios.
>consolidation is a good thing
Frick off. They already have MGM & they butchered LOTR.
IMPOSSIBLE! BERBIE MADE BILLIONS SO WB SHOULD BE SAVED! Was Cinemaphile lying again?
>Now that WBD is on verge of bankruptcy
Barbie is one of the most profitable movie of all time, they made like a billion in profit with that Harry Potter game and HBO is fricking crushing the competition. They'll be fine
And yet, despite this, WBD is still on the verge of bankruptcy thanks to years of accumulated losses.
>Barbie is one of the most profitable movie of all time, they made like a billion in profit with that Harry Potter game and HBO is fricking crushing the competition. They'll be fine
If they ONLY released Barbie they'd be doing great. Except lately they have released:
Black Adam
Shazam
Fantastic Beasts
etc.
that have lost them HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS. Barbie won't save them
>Now that WBD is on verge of bankruptcy
Yeah not great. Here's 2022 and 2023
https://www.the-numbers.com/market/2022/distributor/Warner-Bros
The Batman and Elvis made (some) $, all else lost. Fantastic Beasts / Black Adam / Matrix (2021 carryover) huge stinkers
https://www.the-numbers.com/market/2023/distributor/Warner-Bros
Barbie made $, everything else lost hundreds of millions.Shazam / Flash huge losses.
WB not doing well.
Seems like all these big company mergers have been nothing but trouble for everyone involved. Some big companies have even started splitting up after merging.
