Juijutsu is literally a Japanese martial art, adding Brazilian to the word doesn't change anything. BJJ fricking sucks anyway. If you're looking for an actual good Martial art that is effective in stand-up, Muay Thai is literally the best core martial art to train, not crotch-sniffing gay humping. A good fighter would just kick you or punch you in the face before you even had a chance for a grab. A Muslim guy from Dagestan completely sweeps BJJ with Sambo, that's how trash and ineffective BJJ is.

Judo branched off as a deliberately less useful, more spiritual art, more suitable for the olympics. The brazillian branch then concentrated on a very specific subset of Jiu Jitsu, and worked to focus on that specific subset even further, as the Gracies came into the picture.

My view is that white people doing traditionally East Asian things isn't racist or cultural appropriation but it IS cringe a lot of the time. To the anon who recommended the 70s Iron Fist run, I read it and had a great time. Thr characters were good, the story was better than I thought and the art was cool. I don't know about the not cobra commander guy being Danny's uncle but we will see. I don't like it when all of the characters are linked to the main character. I got up to when they combine iron fist with power man, I'm not sure how well they will balance it out. I liked the short interludes they did showing Kunlun. I read some of the early Shang Chi stories but they were no where near as engaging as iron fist. There wasn't a hook to keep me reading, FU Munchu literally meets Shang Chi and says yeah I could kill you this week BUT I WON'T it will be in the future. Horrendous stuff.
The kung fu art was mostly good, the 1 page spreads showing the movements of iron fist fighting over a few seconds was really good. It's fluid and has an impact.
