I really liked and enjoyed it up until the last 90 seconds of the movie.
Godzilla spends the whole thing absorbing energy and powering up, we don’t really see a lot of him other than him slaughtering a couple of job monsters real fast.
In the final battle the bad guy monsters come to the surface, only to be faced with Godzilla and they get absolutely fricking raped, but at the same time there’s no spectacle whatsoever. Skar King attacks Godzilla and his attacks do nothing to him and Godzilla pieces him up in a snap and tosses him over to Kong and the ice monster who execute the Skar King (turns out the ice monster was a good guy).
So Mothra AND Kong were both there but they didn’t need to be at all. Godzilla just solo’d the entire final boss fight and we didn’t get to see Godzilla use his full power and obliterate anyone and the villains were never actually a threat. Very anticlimactic. I’ve never been blueballed by a movie I liked before.
well said, this is exactly how I feel as well. Never been so disappointed by a movie I enjoyed before. It was a dumb movie, but I liked it, but why do little Godzilla? I wish Skar King jobbed earlier and then Godzilla and Kong had to team up to fight a rampaging Shimu. It's an OC monster anyways no need to keep it around especially after this movie has Godzilla killing like half the cast of OC monsters they came up with
I would have been perfectly satisfied if the movie was exactly how it was except Shimo wasn’t good and Godzilla killed it, and Kong got to solo the scar king instead of Godzilla beating him up and handing him over to Kong and Shimo.
