Why would a "2004 born zoomer" prefer the older movies, from before they were born? This seems to be your strange implication, but it's not exactly clear. For that matter, why would someone born in 2004 even care about Shrek 2, when they would've been too young to watch it until years after it was relevant?

Sad how Mongo died on the same night he was created and how the only purpose he had was slightly opening a castle drawbridge.

Mongo's purpose was to help storm the castle and they couldn't have done that without him. His death serves to raise the stakes of the ending as not even a giant was enough on his own.

Fairy Godmother is boring. She should've been ridiculized or disrespected sometimes. They did that with Farquaad (Gingy spitting on his face and misleading him with the Muffin Man exchange/the visual and verbal jokes about his height)

There is no point in the story where Fairy Godmother being disrespected is needed until the end where the person she had blackmailed betrays her. She spends most of the movie around people that do her bidding or don't know the truth about her. Farquaad being ridiculed for his height is part of the joke of his character and the Gingy scene is giving character to Gingy himself.

Why? kung fu Panda 2 has no entertainment value. It's Dreamworks at its most boring.

I like the backstory it establishes for Po and how the new villain is in it.

out of all the autistic behaviour i see on here, i find being hatefully obsessed with shrek 2 to be the most perplexing

I dunno, I find the Kung Fu 2 hatedom to be way more surreal.

I think I'd respect him more if he was obsessed with literally any other shark movie instead. I couldn't make it five minutes into Shark Tale, what kind of person devotes their life to it?

What other shark movies are there? Besides Finding Nemo and really the sharks in that are just trailerbait that only show up for one scene and a joke at the end.

                >What other shark movies are there?
Step outside of Cinemaphile territory and there are a lot of shark movies, from certified classics to so bad they're good no-budget schlock. Shark Tale anon being obsessed with any one of them would be make him less pitiable. Even one of the lesser Sharknado sequels or the last Jaws sequel. And it would make him Cinemaphile's problem, not ours.

I figured I didn't have to say I meant Cinemaphile related since we're on Cinemaphile talking about a Cinemaphile related movie, but okay.

It's not like they didn't ridicule Fairy Godmother at all, either. I'm pretty sure the scene where she's getting fast food while threatening Harold is explicitly meant to be making fun of how gross and undignified she actually is underneath all the showboating.

Unlike Toy Story 2 before, this is exactly as long as the first one, unless you count the mid credits scene. It should've been longer.

That Northern California facility went downhill between Shrek and Madagascar. The 4-D short looks worse than Antz.

Fairy Godmother was awful. It was her who told Fiona's parents to lock her in the tower of an empty lava surrounded castle guarded by a fire breathing room. She also didn't make sure that Fiona wouldn't wait for too long. It took years for Charming to go rescue her.

That's what makes her a good villain.

    >"She's taken the potion. Kiss her now!"
I Need a Hero scene is kinda dark. As revealed by that line, Godmother thought that Fiona drank the love potion, and was enthusiastically singing while expecting Fiona to lose her free will once Charming kisses her during the ball.

Nah, I watched it for the first time earlier this year and it was great. The plot is far shorter than you'd expect but the last scenes more than make up for it
Plus the CGI aged far more gracefully than the first

      >the CGI aged far more gracefully than the first
Disagree. I think the Silicon Graphics rendered visuals of 1 are nicer to look at. More clever use of shadows/lighting. The entire sequence at Dragon's Keep is a work of art.

Matter of opinion I guess. Shrek 1 looks almost as uncanny as Toy Story
