I would love her because association with her would be highly profitable. I don’t even need to frick her or obsess over her. She’s a well funded disruptive force and that sort of person represents opportunity. If anything, a guy like Littlefinger should have thrown in with her and just encouraged her to kill the ever living frick out of any nobility of the Seven Kingdoms that even looked at her wrong. Daenerys’ problem is her advisors were total dumb ass, pussy morons. Jorah should have been showering in pussy and just getting richer and richer as Dany conquered more and more. No reason to simp over her personally.

                >I know the cost! Last night, gazing into that hearth, I saw things in the flames as well. I saw a king, a crown of fire on his brows, burning... burning, Davos. His own crown consumed his flesh and turned him into ash. Do you think I need Melisandre to tell me what that means? Or you?

                >Stannis ground his teeth again. "I never asked for this crown. Gold is cold and heavy on the head, but so long as I am the king, I have a duty... If I must sacrifice one child to the flames to save a million from the dark... Sacrifice... is never easy, Davos. Or it is no true sacrifice. Tell him, my lady."
                >Melisandre said, "Azor Ahai tempered Lightbringer with the heart's blood of his own beloved wife. If a man with a thousand cows gives one to god, that is nothing. But a man who offers the only cow he owns..."

                >Davos: Edric—
                >Stannis: —is one boy! He may be the best boy who ever drew breath and it would not matter. My duty is to the realm.

A vision of him consumed by his crown, by his duty: saving the realm.

GRRM's writing the whole story and it won't resemble the stuff in GOT at all

Couple years ago Martin said "I told them some big twists like Hodor and "hold the door", and Stannis' decision to burn his daughter.", Stannis claims that he has to do his duty even if he has to kill an adorable child, that sacrifice isn't easy and you still claim that it doesn't fit with Stannis character or what Martin has written?

Probably because not only is it moronic Stannis is hundreds of miles away, has access to 2 people with kings blood of whom one he already plans to burn, already faced with the situation that show Stannis burns her for and obviously planning something big. Stannis burning Shireen would require him to lose those 2 people with kings blood, somehow make it back to Castle Black(or for them to make it to him), Somehow ignore the other people in Castle Black with kings blood(that includes the Karstarks at Castle Black) and some how come to the conclusion that burning his daughter is the best course of action even though he would be well aware that Justin Massy is on his way back from Essos with an army of sellswords paid for by the Iron Bank. The amount of nonsense that we would need to wade through to make the situation even remotely possible is beyond contrived and doesn't even remotely resemble the Edric Storm situation.

I’m not defending it at all believe me, but magically it made sense, it had to be a great sacrifice, whereas using leeches to suck blood isn’t a sacrifice at all.

                >Probably because not only is it moronic Stannis is hundreds of miles away

                >has access to 2 people with kings blood of whom one he already plans to burn
"Sacrifice is never easy or it is no true sacrifice" + "If a man with a thousand cows gives one to god, that is nothing. But a man who offers the only cow he owns..." Sacrificing Theon nor Asha is not as powerful as sacrificing his own daughter.
                >already faced with the situation that show Stannis burns her for and obviously planning something big
Never said that it will happened exactly as in the show, just that Stannis will make the decision to sacrifice his daughter. The "hold the door" will also play out slightly differently in the books:
                >“They did it very physical — ‘hold the door’ with Hodor’s strength. In the book, Hodor has stolen one of the old swords from the crypt. Bran has been warging into Hodor and practicing with his body, because Bran had been trained in swordplay. So telling Hodor to ‘hold the door’ is more like ‘hold this pass’ — defend it when enemies are coming — and Hodor is fighting and killing them. A little different, but same idea.”

Shireen will perform a coup with her secret admirers, burh her parents as she rapes Mel in fron of the entire army, the flames of burning parents and passion making the North have sex with the south, bringing peace to the seven Kingdoms through sheer power of kinky lust alone.
Then the White walkers come and kill everyone because the leaders are women. The end.

          >Darkstar is Azor Ahai you homosexuals.
Why do I love Darkstar so much? It's pretty simple when I think about it. Darkstar isn't just the best character in the series, he might just be the greatest character of all time. Just imaging him riding through the sands of Dorne, the wind in his hair, his mighty steed below him. As he rides through the red mountains, the ladies swoon at his very scent. They know how he smells, the essence of his smell is sold in Planky Town under the the name of "Greenblood Orgasm." The very nature of Darkstar is mystery. could he be playing a deeper game than even his creator realizes? The answer is yes, he has transcended such boundaries as the written world, and has free will to do whatever he sees fit. However, Darkstar is filled with such guile, such arcane craft that he does not even use these powers. Why, you might ask? You will never know, for the mind of the Darkstar is not one that is easily penetrated. Darkstar is such a force of nature in his realm that nothing can truly touch him, the only thing keeping him bound to the page at all is his will to exist within the preordained boundaries of his world. Darkstar is not only beyond the comprehension of us, he exists within a plane of true focus and beauty. Observe his playful smile, his gorgeous and rippling biceps, his gallant nose, and most importantly, his eyes. His eyes, like pools of saffron, provide the only glimpse into the true machinations of Darkstar. Do not stare into them. Many good men have gone mad in the attempt. Darkstar is not just a character, a formless collection of words and images, he is himself is the binding that holds the saga together. Without Darkstar, the entire series, the entire world of Westeros as we know it crumbles. The Trident would stop flowing without Darkstar, the Reach would become a desolate crater, and the Wall would melt without his frosty gaze. These are just of a few of the reasons why I like Darkstar so much.

He should be. If GRRM had any balls, Victarion would succeed in his plan of using the horn to control Daeenry's dragons, kill her husband, b***h slap her into marrying him, forcing everybody else in Essos to obey him, invade Westeros, kill Euron, conquer the mainland and destroy the white walkers.

He’s a fun character. The fact he’s really dumb just adds to the charm.

On that note, what are your guys favourite asoiaf characters? For me it’s the Hound. The Tv version was cool, but he is much edgier in the books (as are most of the characters) and somehow I truly empathise with him.

If the story has a character of a chaste friend who's in love in a female hero, who despite rejection is willing to remain her servile simpleton, it is a sign that the story is targeted to female audience. Similar examples - Snape from Harry Potter, Norrington from Pirates of the Carribean etc.

You'll NEVER find a reverse example, where a 5/10 female character sacrifices her life for an alpha protagonist who fricks around with pretty women.

AGOT for CK2/3 is the exception as it's almost entirely book based with a few nods to some of the styles from the show
I'm thinking more of the M&B mods. For Warband ACOK was book based but also included some styles from the show in a very tasteful manner. AWOIAF was 100% show based
now all of the Bannerlord mods are 100% show based with shitty armors and watered down everything

    >“Half my army is made up of unbelievers,” Stannis had replied. “I will have no burnings. Pray harder.”

He cries and pleads "SHANSHA PLEEEEEZ" and Arya slits his throat.

No one knows exactly how the TOJ went down from the books. There are no details on the fight. I'm actually 99% sure that Dayne will be killed similarly to how it is in the show, with Howland stabbing him in the back. It makes sense from GRRM to have the most badass knight be killed by a frog person

    >“If I were queen, the first thing I would do would be to kill all those grey rats. They scurry everywhere, living on the leavings of the lords, chittering to one another, whispering in the ears of their masters. But who are the masters and who are the servants, truly? Every great lord has his maester, every lesser lord aspires to one. If you do not have a maester, it is taken to mean that you are of little consequence. The grey rats read and write our letters, even for such lords as cannot read themselves, and who can say for a certainty that they are not twisting the words for their own ends? What good are they, I ask you?”

They never mention Robb's secret will. Jon is somehow elected king because he charged ass-ahead against Ramsay and lost three quarters of his men.

Robb was dead by the time Sansa got married to Tyrion. Robb made Jon his heir before his death. Sansa couldnt inherit the stark house because she's a woman, and Bran and Rickon were still alive at that point

          >Robb was dead by the time Sansa got married to Tyrion.

          >"Young, and a king," he said. "A king must have an heir . If I should die in my next battle, the kingdom must not die with me. By law Sansa is next in line of succession, so Winterfell and the north would pass to her." His mouth tightened. "To her, and her lord husband. Tyrion Lannister. I cannot allow that. I will not allow that. That dwarf must never have the north."

          >"No," Catelyn agreed. "You must name another heir, until such time as Jeyne gives you a son." She considered a moment. "Your father's father had no siblings, but his father had a sister who married a younger son of Lord Raymar Royce, of the junior branch. They had three daughters, all of whom wed Vale lordlings. A Waynwood and a Corbray, for certain. The youngest . . . it might have been a Templeton, but . . . "

          >"Mother." There was a sharpness in Robb's tone. "You forget. My father had four sons."

          >She had not forgotten; she had not wanted to look at it, yet there it was. "A Snow is not a Stark."

          >"Jon's more a Stark than some lordlings from the Vale who have never so much as set eyes on Winterfell."

A bear there was, a bear, a bear!
All black and brown, and covered with hair.
    The bear! The bear!

Oh come they said, oh come to the fair!
The fair? Said he, but I'm a bear!
All black and brown, and covered with hair!

And down the road from here to there.
    From here! To there!
Three boys, a goat and a dancing bear!
They danced and spun, all the way to the fair!
    The fair! The fair!

Oh, sweet she was, and pure and fair!
The maid with honey in her hair!
    Her hair! Her hair!
The maid with honey in her hair!

The bear smelled the scent on the summer air.
    The bear! The bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair!

He smelled the scent on the summer air!
He sniffed and roared and smelled it there!
    Honey on the summer air!

Oh, I'm a maid, and I'm pure and fair!
I'll never dance with a hairy bear!
    A bear! A bear!
I'll never dance with a hairy bear!

    The bear, the bear!
Lifted her high into the air!
    The bear! The bear!

    I called for a knight, but you're a bear!
    A bear, a bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair

She kicked and wailed, the maid so fair,
But he licked the honey from her hair.
    Her hair! Her hair!
He licked the honey from her hair!

Then she sighed and squealed and kicked the air!
My bear! She sang. My bear so fair!
And off they went, from here to there,
The bear, the bear, and the maiden fair.

The show version is decent, but wouldn't fit with some of the lyrics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8U9zTSKn1M

Also I like how Roy Dotrice made one of the songs in the book go to the melody of deck the halls.

That's because GRRM (named like Gollum, after the sound his stomach is always making) can't write poetry for shit. Everything about his "medieval prose" feels forced beyond recognition. Think about the position of the adjective: "The bear and the maiden fair". Twisted the syntax to force the rhyme.

You can read one Bernard Cornwell novels and get a better understanding of Medieval warfare and culture than Grrm has.
You can even get some book recommendations for your own research if you don't skip the historical note at the end
