Yes they will
no they wont
Toy Story 5 and Inside Out 2 will make their wallets nice and healthy again
Expect more sequels too. A theatrical Monsters 3, Incredibles 3, Finding Nemo 3, etc
nah it wont
See you in the thread where you cry about Toy Story 5 making a billion.
Trust me, I don't like it either, but the response to them making flops is making more soulless sequels. They'll never truly die or learn from their mistakes because they'll just make easy bucks off of soulless continuations their actual good IPs
Yes they will, you'll need at least 3 more shitty movies to make them fail
they are already in the middle of making the next one so i guess its 2 now
They didn't survive the Incredibles. That movie flopped so hard it got them sold to D*sney
Elio will save them.
Yet ANOTHER movie about a brown kid
Doesn't matter. Encanto did well.
Elios story is just recycled jokes that stopped being funny decades ago. This is why it will fail.
Has the script leaked?
that will kill them even harder
Nah, it will be a success.
nah it wont
More like “Dan Kois-My-Ass”.
Pixar will survive, but only in body not in spirit. The “Soul” has ironically unironically left this company.
What're the chances this is at most a "eh, whatever" kind of movie like Luca and Brave and everything is trashing something that's just "okay"?
From what I know about the movie, it just seems extremely mediocre. Nothing egregiously awful.
Mediocre is worse then bad
Lucca, Sould and Turning Red are "ok" in the sense of "it's kind fun i guess, but i expect better fron the studio"
Brave, Oward, Good Dinosaur are "ok" in the sense of "i don't want to watch something so fricking boring in my life ever again"
Elemental is likely the second one
The plot is exactly as that anon that leaked the storybook described. Extremely mediocre and doesn't even require them to be elements to play out.
>please don't close my store
>ok but if you fix the dam
>go fix the dam
>done
I remember Pixar was a lot more creative with their premises, but this is just bland. They could have been humans and the plot would just play out the same way.
Yeah but then they'd have to make the story about the metaphors (aka an actual interracial couple) which is a big no no for Disney because believe it or not, they are extremely conservative behind closed doors
cope
Do you think Disney is genuinely progressive, anon?
lmao
Just because you're not progressive doesn't mean you're conservative.
You can't be unbiased anymore, the Sith rule things now, you can only deal in absolutes. You either have to be an ass licking leftist ally, or a bigoted far-right extremist, even centrists are closed minded hatemongers these days if they don't blindly agree with the left.
Neutrality is dead to the holier than thou modern liberals trying to "save" the world
Not being progressive means you're on the side of the nazis, anon. Haven't you read the memo yet?
Karen's constitute a big part of the Disney consumer and fanciable.
and a lot of Karen's really don't like it when things get too "real" or break the illusion so to speak.
Why is the water guy wearing a t shirt of a letter farting?
The in-universe sports team is the windbreakers. Hah. Hah.
they really reduced their fictional race to butthole wind
I only care about fire girl's massive hips.
Big hips but no ass.
Like all coombait.
She is pretty hot
>massive hips.
she's wearing a dress moron
>massive
Box office: $35 Million.
What happened to Disney? It's doing worse than its literal babyshit competitors like Illumination. This is embarrassing.
Fake news
nah very real news the little coonmaid flopped like a fish
Yeah? Where's the source? Funny how any identifying information is absent in your pic. homosexual.
you're the homosexual it died hard internationally and no one likes it
>no u
>still no information
Yeah, you lied. You're a b***h. Frick off.
neither have you homosexual YOU frick off instead
Wtf are you talking about? I have no information to share, you posted the sketchy pic and two people asked for proof and you waffled repeatedly and now you're saying I haven't showed anything? What are you on about you dumb c**t.
neither do you and you're the dumb c**t!
>no u
>no u
>no u
I'm done with you clown. You got exposed for the grifter you are and are now on a petulant damage control. Eat shit.
Spongebob Squarepants!
Don't worry, all that ESG money /misc/ keeps b***hing about will save them!
It did until the feds started raising interest rates. Now they're sweating. All of these movies are produced during the ESG era, so it's gonna take a few years before they course correct.
Disney should just bite the bullet and sell Pixar to Apple, where it truly belongs.
Or sell it to Warner Bros and jumpstart their animation studio
So co, will they save themselves on the rebound with Win or Lose or picrell
Elio will be a moderate success at best
And let's remember Lightyear failed, so TS5 isn't a guaranteed success either
nah it will do even worse the elemental
Lightyear was very confusing. I know it was pretty trash and boring regardless so it would've flopped eifher way, but it was just too confusing of a premise to capture an audience with in the first place. TS5 is a more simpler movie for the normalgays to determine if it's something they would recognize.
Why did they embrace this bloated pudgy animation style? Everything is so round on that guy. Cringe.
If all of these movies were in production 5-6 years ago when Cal Arts was popular, then we are just seeing the fruits of that labor.
They want the ghibli audience so their using a softer and rounder style for their more slice of life movies.
If Pixar keeps the transgender plotline in Win or Lose, it's gonna start a shitstorm and a boycott exponentially bigger than Bud Light's.
>co
>ihomosexual
have a nice day
What’s win or lose? I haven’t seen anything about that one. Elio looks like an instant flop.
it will be
Mars needs Moms needs to sue for stealing their IP.
that is one of the gayest name for a movie i have ever seen
Pixar is dead. It's sad when a legendary company is taken over by incompetent mediocre morons who shill their shitty leftist politic in their work.Yeah I know Hollywood has been doing it since forever. But back then they had to be subtle about it or it would turn off the audience.
The kid main character is a total homosexual and it's very likely the beaner parents won't be exactly thrilled with him.
Okay, help me out here anons, what character does the fire b***h look like?
Every time I see her and her annoying pointy lip smile the picture of another character comes into my head, but I can't make it out...
Azula, imo
She has the same lips as the jeff the killer picture.
This is someone elses face, I know it.
Looks like an emoji.
rose garden warfare 2
Between this and Indy 5, nothing makes me hornier than imagining how much money Disney is gonna lose on these movies
Anyone know why this is a flop? I know we all collectively hate it on Cinemaphile, but why normies? Isn't it perfectly generic enough for them to enjoy, like a worse Zootopia? Or do you think they can read through it's weird ESG racial messages?
It features a heterosexual couple as the main focus
Honestly, personal feelings aside I think it's on track to making a modest profit when you factor in global sales. It's not great by any means but it'll break even and then some. I hope it fails though, but I'm not like some anons who will post fake pics to drive a false narrative making it look like it's doomed when it isn't really.
it is doomed
nah YOU eat shit instead homosexual!
nah YOU do that
nah you're driving false narratives
Are you limited to saying "no u!"? Genuine question. I'm not driving any narrative. I'm just looking the way the wind is blowing but you, on the other hand, are coming off as unhinged.
Honestly, it's better if the new IPs succeed rather than fail. I'd rather nu Pixar make shitty new movies instead of shitting up their old IPs like they did in the 10s
I agree. I want their new original work to succeed as long as it isn't pushing an agenda. I just want good, quality films that explore concepts that we can all relate to like they were so good at in Toy Story, Up, etc.
Their movies are bombing regardless of the IP. Lightyear was also an embarrassing flop.
With a budget of 200 million that's gonna be tough.
>Isn't it perfectly generic enough for them to enjoy, like a worse Zootopia? Or do you think they can read through it's weird ESG racial messages?
The problem is that it is a blatantly worse Zootopia with an even more obvious racial message.
Even casuals can smell the stench in the room.
Saw it tonight, thought it was cute and goode. Feels like zootopia with implications of police brutality replaced with horny. It definitely feels like a young adult movie -- marketing really had to sift through the film to find "family friendly" stuff. A pixar movie hasn't made me feel like this since Ratatouille (though Rat Movie is still far superior in writing).
It really feels like people want this movie to be a failure/embarrassment that it isn't. Hope the box office improves.
>It definitely feels like a young adult movie
Weird considering it's rated PG.
Just saw it. Not entirely as bad as I expected. It's a safe romance movie for the pixar crowd, and probably won't be the worst movie pixar has made recently but won't be remembered much either, unless you want to frick the fire girl
So less of a Good Dinosaur and more of a Luca?
Is this movie any worse than the other recent Pixar movies, or are critics just allowed to admit it's bad because the non-human characters mean the studio can't pull the "if you don't like it you're racist" card?
It's way better than Onward, that's for sure. Also, the fire people are almost explicitly Asian, so the race card idea is still in play.
Not that it matters. "People" would still drum up failure narratives because it's about interracial romance.
I mean young adult (as in early 20s) in the context of Pixar films. Even when the main character is an octogenarian, a Pixar film typically has the impression of being a kids film. There's a certain kind of universal appeal to most Pixar flicks -- be it due to general themes or entry POVs for children -- that isn't here. I compared it to Ratatouille because it has the same kind of focus on the early 20s experience, i.e. non-juvenile romance, the weight of jobs and careers, and increased personal agency.
That said, it definitely pulled its punches at times. There is bigotry and hate, but there's not much violence. The most scandalous joke has Ember saying ass. This is the second horniest film Pixar has ever made, but it's largely consigned to the credits and an extended handholding scene.
As much as I dislike the slop they've been doing for the last decade, Disney's too huge to fall. If the 70s/80s dark age didn't kill them, there's no way they can collapse entirely now that they're more massive than ever before. At worst, they sell Star Wars to someone else and coast the fall using that money.
I made an article about why they chose an elemental/racial theme https://manlyburger.substack.com/p/out-of-the-fire-and-flames-the-spiritual pure based energy
They're completely out of creative energy. They have diversity hires who want to make stories about their narcissism. Primos got savaged by Hispanics and the crew still tried to talk down to the critics. Even if they survive, their animation output is doomed for decades, no point in preserving the current state of "Pixar"
cool dota monsters
>diversity hires who want to make stories about their narcissism
Why would anyone think this is a good idea?
Maybe they should stop making movies about random objects living in some wacky random object universe.
This movie barely works as a racism metaphor in the first place. And it has the same problems as Zootopia in that it actually gives more tangible reasons for the groups to remain segregated in the plot instead of creating any message about prejudice being bad.
It doesn't work at all because the movie never addresses the fact that they can't mix. They profess their love but that doesn't fix the fact that she boils him if they do try to physically interact.
>Pixar won't survive this flop.
God willing.
The problem with Elemental is that it's the same Romeo and Juliet shit we've seen for years and it's just fricking predictable. It's just Zootopia but not interesting or appealing to anyone.
>Whenever Disney attempts to appeal to boys it usually leads to serious failures like Atlantis. Stuff like Tarzan and Aladdin were flukes. And by now boys habitually stay away from Disney because they know Disney is lame and that nothing they make is interesting for a boy
Same thing with live action. Pirates of the Caribbean was a fluke. John Carter and Lone Ranger were awful and Prince of Persia bombed.
Now we've seen or corporate and sterile they've made Star Wars and Marvel too
>seen or
*Seen how
They'll get bailed out by Blackrock so they can keep producing propaganda. Failure means nothing now as long as they keep dancing to ESG and Blackrock's tone.
nah homosexualrock is running out of money
That Primos shit is just another example of this. Now even the people you are trying to pander to with all this ESG shilling are turning on you openly. Disney is dying a slow death but they are dying.
People will keep watching their movies no matter what happens.
