Why do these shows always turn into this?
I quit watching Brooklyn99 for the same reason.

That might be the only part of the show that's accurate. One of my close high school friends became an LAPD officer (I almost did too; went on the ride-along and everything). He tells me that over the past 10 years it's basically one giant catch-22 in the training department where they literally tell you that an X person is committing a crime because of systemic racism, and it's actually Y person that caused this environment, so basically me more agressive with Y people, and be very lenient with X people....which is FRICKING ILLEGAL, so cops are dropping out left and right. The bodycams added in 2018 sucked all of the fun out of the job, he claims.

Women start demanding more writing credits and involvement in the writer's room. Creator checks out along with original writers because they are bored. This in turns makes ALL writing liberal PC/woke hive-mind. Ratings decline and then show gets canceled.
Women can absolutely make great scripts alone, but when in a group the female hive-mind takes over and it's all the same stuff over and over.

It's actually guaranteed by contract, a show needs a minimum of 3 writers, plus an extra 3 for shows over 7 episodes in a season.

I thought the more episodes they make the more writers they to hire which dilutes talent.

That show was bottom of the barrel garbage since season 1. But it's quality took a steep nosedive since then. Not to mention the God awful jokes and Samburgs acting.

The Rookie stopped filming around the time Groids chimped out across Cuckistan. A bunch of Cop TV shows then universally cancelled themselves and stopped filming. This included Cops and LivePD. Among a bunch of other Cop Dramas. Later, they came back on air, but all of them were filled with Groid Propaganda.
It was honestly hilarious see the death of some junkie criminal cause Americans to fully and willingly bend the knee to them.

yeah the last seasons and bosch legacy are a mixed bag (like the idiotic 'maddie being kidnapped for 1 episode and a half" storyline). Still my comfort show tho. The books are so many, I'm sure there are some serious stinkers

It's mostly the recent books. Harry takes a backseat in his own books. Several books have this latina girlboss taking over. I just couldn't stand it after two books and quit. This was of course after reading every single one beforehand.

No idea. Two most recent books. And this is only the two most recent. There are more books before this where she's basically the main character.

I just want to read (or watch) Old Grumpy Detective man solve crimes.

I think that's the season that was airing during the whole Saint Floyd proceedings. The show acted accordingly being that it was a cop show. I knew the6 would and it's why I never stated it in the first place as I'd wanted to check it out for Fillion.

Cop shows all have a sigular purpose, to warp the citzen's view of the justice system and make them ignorant of their rights.
Everytime some asks for their lawyer, it's a bad thing that hurts the investigation, and usually means the person is guilty. Violence and intimidation are totally cool in a police interrogation too. Only have 46 mins to stop the bomb/save the kid/etc.

If you look at it that way All fiction distorts reality like that,

I mean watching shows and films you would think Criminals are a bunch of honorable business men instead of a bunch of scumbags that use violence indiscriminately. And now they are even politically correct criminals and dislike Racism!.

      Is all one big jerkoff.

The best part about watching is picking out the many many actors who got early work as guest stars.
And the behind the scenes crazyness of the show is legendary too. Drugs, AIDS, Crossdressing, multiple deaths.

Not quite The Wire level for some, but for me it's on par and then some.

feels like kismet. And agreed, it was such a long running show and it was so respected that if ypu were an actor at around that time you fought to be on it. Rollins, the guy that played Virgil had crazy substance abuse problems. Drugs and alcohol. He was arrested four times during seasons 5 I think, or maybe it was 6, I forget which he left(Was fired)on. Lots of crazy stuff on that show.

I remember my mom pointing out that something was wrong with her. My whole family would gather around to watch it and The Wonder Years. We never missed an ep of either if we could help it. She guessed an eating disorder at the time. She seemed so classy and elegant she didn't think otherwise.

The first 5 episodes are rough as it really struggled to find its footing and figure out what kind of show it wanted to be. The first season is mostly monster of the week and lore building but it really does start paying off as the show progresses. Obviously you can ignore my suggestion but it is a very enjoyable show after you get over the early speed bumps.

I will check out Farscape if you promise to give Grimm a real shot. I can almost guarantee that you’ll be a fan by episode 13 and the series is a continual climb to greatness. And unlike most series, it has a satisfying ending. Not Justified tier ending but more like Smallville tier ending.
