i remember this led to an uptick in wine drinking and i had merlot and it was gay.
The main character specifically shits on merlot and sales of that actually went down dummy
well, Merlot unironically sucks
Gen X taste
I think all ghibli is style over substance, like the wes Anderson of weebshit (except Mononoke was alright)
Nice
>style over substance
Style perfecting substance. This movie was perfect and I generally don't like animation let alone anime (if this can be said to loosely qualify as such).
ping pong the animation is better and has more soul than all the ghibli shit combined
this is really just trash for guailos
That movie got every bit of resonance out of a folktale that's over 1000 years old. Cope.
You wouldn’t know substance if it whipped out it’s dick and slapped the frick outta you with it weeb
Cope homosexual. See
Why would I lie about watching anime? (The truth is I dated a jap for a while; she studied literature and introduced me to Ghibli as well as a bunch of lit). Have sex.
Is that all you can say you frickin moronic parrot? I don’t frickin care about some nip myth, ghibli is midwit weeaboo fodder
Seethe homosexual. You were filtered by a cartoon.
Not anon, but you were filtered at birth if you think an anime is a “perfect film”
>unearned condescension
One day you'll learn that only tricks morons into thinking you're smart.
Cope. Simple as.
i dont think you know what that word means
I already know you don't think. Cope.
You mistake me for conceited. I’m not, I have no allusions about myself. I’m above midwit, but not highly intelligent. I’m a misanthropic narcissist and I hate your taste and lies.
>illusions
See. Typos galore.
>You mistake me
You're a moron trying to win an online argument you started with a stranger over a movie by devolving any discussion and trying to get the last word. Cope, but reply back so you feel like you accomplished something in what I'm sure is a pathetic and otherwise entirely uneventful existence.
Got me some pegged. Hi stranger 🙂
>cope
>seethe
>filtered
Do you have an original thought in your entire lobotomized brain? Nah probably not, since you are a ghibli fan…
>I generally don't like animation let alone anime
Why lie? I can’t even and don’t care to read that.
>perfect comedy attached
holy frick you are so edgy! can i be president your fan club? I'm a really good fluffer!!!! xoxoxoxox
Goddamn what an awesome film. The play is pretty great too.
>American Movie
Based
still disappointed we never got an ostrich farm scene
>posts thread after seeing film for first time

Road to Perdition
Good choice. Pacing autist here.
>Gattaca
>Dark City
>Traffic
Gattaca feels like it's from another timeline where every movie is kino
Nice. Dark City pacing is kino.
This film is remarkably fantastic. Paul Newman, Daniel Craig, and Jude Law make it. Mendes got caught up in making shitty Bond movies.
Russian here.
When i was in cali i took a rental car and went to look for filming locations.
Tried to catch that vibe of a movie. Wineyards, lodges...
Somehow it felt very very real.
Even went in that restorant where roastie waited.
Also death to Ukraine and Nato
Was the attempt successful? Id probably try the same thing if I went to California with a friend. Probably a lot of old people I’m guessing
>Also death to Ukraine and Nato
based
for me it's pic related
it helps that it has a stellar cast, but overall the movie is perfect and definitely spielberg's finest and most mature
sadly it came too close to pointing out how psychotic zionists are and so went ignored
What do you think of the sex scene?
little comical when taken out of context but i don't think it's anything that stands out when you watch the movie
i'm sad that almost nobody knows it because it does so many things well, it's basically an europe-trotting period piece that also works as a spy thriller
>i'm sad that almost nobody knows it
Many people know it. It's a Spielberg movie that was nominated for best picture. It just has the misfortune of being in his post-9/11 period that most people dismiss as too obvious.
>Many people know it
maybe in the old generation but try asking a zoomer about it and they have no idea, it has left the collective consciousness, it's only present for those that remember watching it at the time
Watched it a week ago for the third time. Its alright, third act is pretty weak how his team just all of a sudden starts getting wiped out one after another in silly ways. Shouldve focused more on the politics and being more realistic to the actual events. Solid 7/10
Too many deux ex machinas

Well?
I get my posts COMPED because my dad works at Nintendo.
My Dad put all of our family savings in Theranos. No comps.
I don't know if that's what they were going for but Paul Giamatti's character pissed me off every time he was on screen. great movie, really funny
He was a miserable piece of shit so I think so. One of the funniest parts was him scolding Thomas Hayden Church for thinking a young waitress was hot and then Paul Giamatti goes and buys a dirty “teen” magazine later on
THC just wanted sunny, money, and dicky. Paul G was just jealous.
The Blues Brothers
if only if only we had the roadshow version
why did boomers never save their film?
I wouldn't change anything. I wouldn't get rid of the wife subplot. I wouldn't get rid of the stepdaughter. I wouldn't get rid of the bookstore aspiring graphic designer. I wouldn't want Pacino to tone it down. It's perfect.
I would make Al Pacino Natalie Portman's father like he obviously was in the first draft of the screenplay so there is some actual fricking point to her subplot instead of her mental state being blamed on a neglectful father who never appears. it's so obvious that they changed it because Al Pacino didn't want to play a guy whose obsession with his job makes him screw up as a dad.
>like he obviously was in the first draft of the screenplay
>they changed it because Al Pacino didn't want to
lol Heat is a remake, my brother. I don't think those elements were different in the original film either
>perfect
Pacino’s overacting??
no such thing as overacting.
I already said I wouldn't tone down Pacino's performance. And it's in keeping with the character. Vincent wants to keep him on unstable ground. He doesn't expect an LAPD officer to be bellowing about how his side chick has a great ass. Vincent uses the same tactics earlier when he's yelling at Albert. He's overperforming to get what he wants.
For me, It's Brazil (1985), a film that is truly brilliant in both its concept and its execution.
12 monkeys is better IMHO
>comedy
>thriller
>scifi
>drama
>horror
truly the best underrated movie of all time
is this british? i'm not watching it if it is
American all the way through.
i'll watch it for you then anon
Cool. Shame the movie isn't well known
if something was perfect it wouldn't be worth discussing.
dumbest thing i've ever heard
are you underage?
>heard

no, johh you are the moron
Not anon, but do you take everything literal? How about idioms?
for me it's paprika 1991

Perfect character study of an autist
Sunday maybe?
Well you know what I always think...
The Unbearable Weight of … is a perfect movie.
of what?
I’ve read the book once and watched the movie a dozen times. The film is a flawless version of the book.
See everybody, this is why this Anon is good at posting posts! It's not natural strength. He uses the little training triggers and simply works harder so he types better than any of you.
I wrote the post you’re replying to and I’m not even sure of what you’re saying.
You read the book and watched the movie a dozen times and don't remember any scene in the story that could fit to that line? Maybe I'm wrong, but the story starts at the FBI academy, and they have a leaderboard about gun skills..

>Your worries would be justified-Starling is well above average with both hands. That's because she works at it. She works at it with the little squeezy things you all have access to.
I always thought he should get those teeth fixed
fricking awful movie. made me appreciate the nolan films.
clearly the first Iron Man was the start but Thor was the film that showed that yes Marvel really can bring their visionary cinematic universe to life. If Thor had not released as a near perfect film it might have stunted Marvel plans. Resulting in who knows what being popular the last few years.
I mean picture it, a decade of no super hero films!? What the hell would be watching? A bunch of different themes and films and not seeing the grown of characters as Marvel took over Hollywood for the betterment of movie making and streaming? Thor set up modern blockbusters being Marvel for the next 10+ years. It will never get the credit is deserves of course.
