You people get off on this shit
Yes.
>You people
Stop being disrespectful to people different than you! It's what got Disney into the place it is now.
Your groundbreaking nuanced opinion definitely deserved another thread.
is there any explanation of why this is so expensive?
Deep fake stuff to make Young Indy is one
Constant Reshoots is another
Covid and Ford disrupted production and reshoots. Starting and stopping production costs a lot of money. Studios also take out loans to fund movies so the longer it takes to make a movie, the more interest they have to pay.
Embezzlement
Think about Zack Snyder's Justice League. Think about how many CGI heavy scenes in that cut were entirely absent from the theatrical release, or movies where actors had their parts cut heavily, like Matt Smith in that Terminator. This happens with movies all the time. Executives are morons who don't know how to plan but also want control and the next bankable product to get going, so they demand an "Indiana Jones" movie, just for its own sake. So it goes to production with whatever script they can make up, and then they just keep rewriting it and making crap up on the fly and massive rendered scenes can end up being left on the cutting floor.
You're right that you're not seeing the budget on the screen, because a lot of it was spent on stuff that's ultimately cut from the film. So had executives just planned properly, they could easily save $100 million.
COVID was a factor here and did inflate costs but this sort of thing happens all the time regardless of COVID.
ever heard of money laundering
How do you think money laundering works, you stupid moron
like every Hollywood movie does this. why do you guys think this is worth basing your entire personality off of. no one in real life gives a shit if a movie doesn't sell a lot of tickets or whatever.
start paying a therapist now
We want Disney to suffer because Disney is evil. Clear enough for you? Everyone at Disney deserves to be killed.
nobody cares except a handful of Cinemaphile rejects that don't go outside
you are on the tv and movie board where tv and movies are the topic of interest homosexual
>HAHAHAHA EAT THE RICH ALL THOSE BILLIONAIRES IN THE SUBMARINE DESERVED TO DIE BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE MORE MONEY THAN ME ARE BAD
>NOOOOO STOP MOCKING LITERAL GAJILLION DOLLAR CORPO, THEY MAKE MY STARRY WARS STOP MAKING FUN OF THEM IT ISNT A PERSONALITY NOOOOOOO
Liberalism is a mental illness
>like every Hollywood movie does this. why do you guys think this is worth basing your entire personality off of. no one in real life gives a shit if a movie doesn't sell a lot of tickets or whatever.

Think of the money they could've sent to Ukraine!
You either help Ukraine defeat the fascists, or you will fight them yourself. Didn't you learn anything from World War II?
russians are qt i want to sex their women not kill them. i am pro-peace on earth not pro-war.
>russians are qt i want to sex their women not kill them
Good luck.
Дaвaй, бpaтaн, ты жe пoнимaeшь, oн нe o cтapых cyкaх гoвopит. Moлoдыe дeвки тyт зa дecять бaкcoв oттянyтcя c жиpным Янкoм. Дeпpeccивныe и cлoмaнныe бaбы, caм знaeшь, чтo этo пpaвдa.
i still support world peace over war and there are plenty of cute russian e-girls, i never said every single person was cute. that doesnt exist anywhere on earth you moronic warmonger
>i still support world peace over war
Yes, I believe in unicorns too. When they start beating you up and your woman gets raped, do you say: I support a peaceful resolution to the conflict?
>being against war is bad because old people exist
wow great arguement
You CLEARLY are not well versed with the mid-2010 and onwards Russian pornstars doing DAP and TAP and piss anal and so on. If so you’d never make such an absurd and erroneous comment.
>WWII
>Facists
Literally a few percent of the US defense budget was enough to completely buck break Russia lmao
>t. delusional NAFO troony
>let’s bloat the budget by giving millions to contractor companies that we own through shell companies
>then no matter how bad the reception we have guaranteed millions waiting for us
The only weird part is that Hollywood corruption has an end product you somewhat care about and can watch. When this happens with contractors and big government deals you don’t care and they stay elected.
Yeah it's money laundering which should be obvious but most people don't even care enough to consider it. They really think special effects cost 100 million. Like each guy working at ILM rendering CG is paid 12 million, and surely the sound department people are all millionaires. And surely the music composers are paid 30 million.
And the actors each get 50 million.
560 million is a tight budget!
Imagine if they WANTED to lose money on this movie. What would they do different? Anything? We need a CPA anon to explain how they're doing it but they're doing something.
Featuring...
>Kathleen Kennedy as Max Bialystok
>Bob Iger as Leo Bloom
>James Mangold as Franz Liebkind
and introducing
>Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Lorenzo St. DuBois
They would've kept the original ending in
How do they manage to constantly rack up quarter-to-half a billion dollar pricetags for all these movies?
Like seriously, what are they spending on that costs that much? Is there anywhere I can go to see the breakdown in the spending costs or are studios extremely tightlipped when it comes to auditing?
You just don't understand how expensive it is to make a major movie now.
There's a reason that "hollywood accounting" has been a meme since computers were powered by vacuum tubes.
The numbers are made up and profits don’t matter.
This was from Maureen Ryan's Burn It All Down
>Before Emma took the job, a friend in Hollywood told her that Lucasfilm didn't particularly care about going over budget. Emma was gobsmacked by her friend's observation, given the penny-pinching ways of her previous employers. "But I saw it up close -- that it doesn't matter how many mistakes are made or how incompetent some people are," she said. "Our budget doubled, and I'm sure it went up after I left. I've never seen anything like it."
Somehow those budgets kept getting bigger
Apparently they have infinite money. They do it out of pure hatred
Someone explain to me why a 300million movie looks worse than straight to dvd movies from the 90s?
>thinking
they were feeling. logic and accounting are for nazis.
The budget was to tentpole the movie as the start of a new age of Indiana Jones spinoff starring Phoebe.
For whatever reason, they decided the best way to do this is to make her extremely unlikeable. But the fact that they did this means they actually don't understand what makes a protagonist likeable.
> cost $250k
Really makes you think.
I agree disney should have just done over the top gore for neckbeards to jerk off to
nobody cares
Adjusted for inflation the original trilogy cost:
>Lost Arc: $67m
>Temple of Doom: $82m
>Last Crusade: $120m
They made those three for LESS than they made this one film.
Didn't Ford basically handcuff Disney to funding DoD in his contract for TFA?
